What a beautiful rifle. I'm glad I got one, and can't wait to do a G28 clone one day. I'm also very happy I chose that exact round to stock up on. I have 1,000 rounds of 168gr FGMM stocked up and I buy it when I see it at a good price. I might pick up some 175's for my R700, but honestly, it runs amazing with the 168 FGMM. I saw some black hills stuff too, I might pick that up to test it out. The accuracy is stellar, and I'm glad you're getting that level of accuracy out of it.
NO regrets, on the purchase or the build. The rifle is proving it's self more than just capable, and quickly becoming my favorite. I will buy another HK rifle in future maybe even a pistol but I hear those can be addictive lol .

Scope is the 1-8x24mm Nightforce ATACR in Spuhr mount. Nut'n Fancy tested an HK417 and found it shot sub-MOA with even crap ammo, but, oddly, the Federal match 175 grain rounds didn't do as well as the others. I figured that, with its twist rate, it would do better with 168s as you have found.
As far as I'm concerned that's the holy grail of ARs right there. Currently working on cloning one myself. What height rear sight did you go with? I notice there are a few options and I want to make sure I get the correct one.
I remember when HK’s only long range rifles was the PSG-1 and it was a $10K package in the 90’s. The MR762/G28 is a bargain compared to that. It’s still an expensive AR but you buy once and cry once with an HK.
Awesome video! Doing a G28 project is on my bucket list. What scope mount did you use? Also who did the G28 remark and refinish? Did you end up keeping the trigger stock or did you replace it with a geiselle?
mount is from ERA-TAC 20moa, the laser engraving was a local guy that was able to re-create the HK font. And I see no need to replace the trigger, it is a two stage and works well. Did not refinish just used birchwood/casey Alluminun Black on the the engraving that I did not want very noticeable. Thanks for watching
Great setup especially with the Schmidt. I have to parrot some comments about shooting 3 round groups. Shoot 5 or 10 round groups if you don’t already.
Beautiful rifle build! An MR762A1 (or A2) will hopefully be my retirement gift to myself (have to move to a different State first). You're calling this a "G28 Clone". Were you able to acquire the steel upper of the G28 DMR variant? Not sure if they can be had, but if so, great! Nice shot groupings, but please for the sake of validity, use five shot groups for accuracy testing/evaluation. Three shot groups are generally not accepted as a full test of the accuracy of a rifle. That aside, sub-0.5" MOA is fantastic for a semi-auto such as this. For me, this puts the much over used "piston guns are not accurate" nonsense to rest. Plenty of data out there that shows gas piston guns (HK, LWRC and SCAR) can be very accurate... Of course you have to spend big $$$ for them, but they can be every bit as accurate as the very dirty DI AR rifles. Thanks for sharing... Please do another video with some targets showing five shot groups.
I just got my MR762a1, but I wish I had your stock... you would think for $3800 you would het their best stock... not excited about spending another $500 for an adjustable stock...

I have a MR762 with a Schmidt 5-20 in a SPUHR mount and it weighs 13.5 LBS. HAF. That said, the inertia of the MR762 bolt is like a fully laden cement truck bursting through a closed door, so the weight is actually good. Just not a marching rifle.

unfortunately no, the steel upper and adjustable gas block are not available at this time so it is only 95% accurate.

Duracoat is holding up well , it's only on the sling mount. The scope is a 3-20x50 PM2 LP MSR part# 668-911-762-B2-A8

I had the same problem. I took one of the black ones and cut it down on a miter saw and rounded the corners with a fine grit sanding block.

A group should be 5 to 10 shots to, 3 shots does not show you anything, to test the accuracy a 10 shot group is he way the go
The MR762 and the LRP have the exact same barrel.
808Stevie Negative, MR762 has a 1:10 twist. LRP has 1:11.25 twist. Not the same.
