I'm not sure I could ever get bored of the Telltale narrative format. I don't mind if they keep the format the same with minimal changes, so long as the story is excellent (as they usually were). I'd like to see impactful choices, or at least choices where the player can't obviously tell that the other options would have lead to the same result.
Totally agree, something very addictive about their format. The impactful choices kind of get thrown out the window because they want to make season 2´s, which would be an incredible amount of work for such a small studio, so it is the lesser of two evils. I look at TTG as more of an interactive TV series than a game, but still with fun/cinematic quick-time events 😁
@@EliteBadFrog The Walking Dead had the perfect balance in my opinion. Batman on the other hand was crap. I like being able to control the character more like in TWD. Just watching the characters and making choices now and then doesn't have the same impact. As for the impactful choices, I understand having different endings makes subsequent seasons very challenging, but that's why I also included the option for choices that aren't blatantly obvious that they're meaningless.
@@MightyElemental The bad thing about Batman, and also why I would be against lets say a Spiderman IP or something similar, is that Batman is a well established “good guy” character with already established principles and history that you can’t deviate too much from. Which is different to lets say Lee TWD and Bigby wolf, as you could form them way more to your likeness personality wise and moral wise. Nevertheless, I personally still really enjoyed the batman games and hope for a third season, but as I said it has weaknesses
@@EliteBadFrog The story itself was fine, but my contention is the lack of playable sections. There were legitimately parts of the game where you walked for 5 seconds to click a button or collect something before the next scripted section began. There's no point even having the walking sections in that case. I'd love to have more gameplay.

All I care for with a telltale game is, a good story, and if possible, choices that are impactful. The innovation I'd like to see them make if possible, is the choose your own adventure style, where the story, events and ending can change drastically based on the players choices. Beyond that however, even if they kept the same design model, so long as the stories are good I'd enjoy them.
Good job Matt, this was really good. And thanks for no spoilers with TWD, it's one of my embarrassing unplayed backlog games. Still sad ginx is no longer on sky+ ... at least the picture is better on YT. I used to enjoy watching you get angry (for the right reasons 👍) on Daily Portal.
The tettale games I love walking dead season 1, 2, 3, 4 wolf among us season 1, batman tettale season 1 and so far my favorite tettale game so far is batman the enemy within.
Good points, the fallout was indeed complex. You explained everything beautifully and it's truly a well made video. But isn't it very difficult to always come with an Innovation? And how come there are so many game franchises that still work without innovations (FIFA, CoD, NFS)? Perhaps doing a great job on the games, keeping the same formula but improving on it can work as well?
Just finishing walking dead season 1 without any previous experience on Telltale games. I dislike adventure games generally but I could describe this game as an interactive movie experience, with an excellent scenario and presentation. Maybe these days you can play games like Until Dawn or The Dark Pictures, which I believe they expand this type of games in the right direction, but really the story is extraordinary. I dont know if the kept the same story quality in their next ganes but I hope so. Being a huge fan of The Expanse (I believe its the best scifi series outhere right now) and after my shockingly good experience with The Walking Dead I can tell that I am already into the Expanse😂 Lets hope for the best
They also, didn't own any of the I.P they were using. So they didn't own anything they made. I forget the engine they used, but it was a broken mess, and they refused to update it, or just switch engines all together.
Yet one of the best storyline making company

I'm interested in the expanse season 1. I'm excited for wolf among us season 2 next year. I hope after both a batman tettale season 3 comes out.
Same!

Completely agree. Here's hoping the new Telltale can deliver 😎
The problem was the choices were rarely impactful or vastly different.
Super good video! It answered a lot of questions that i had about the return of Telltale! Thank you

I sincerely hope that this game will one day have a new update so that we can translate the subtitles in all languages again.
man that borderlands game was so great and wow the expanse? that could work
TWD and wolf among us weren’t so great bc it “ reinvented the wheel “. Its all about the story my guy. And how it plays out
You said they made their guardians of rhe galaxy darker, but thats exactly what Vol 3 was.
It came out before guardians 3, so it was a change from the previous ones
@BazookaGamingGirl my point being that it wasn't the darker tone that contributed to its failure.

I hope they learned something. I always loved Telltale
This could mean Minecraft Story Mode being sold again and possibly a new game entirely. This is hype as fuck.
The only thing they need to change is the actual “choices matter” cuz I’m tired of characters that just can’t be saved. Like Larry
I hope they make Batman season 3 in the future

I hope the new Telltale is a lot better than the old one.
Why telltale not coming in mobile
Telltale didn't make any mistakes
Is this a history video or something?
This video is faked!
?
How so? No it's not ... Taletales has returned as a company but with the help of another company
