- Making Kitchen Knives - Part 3
Hello and Thanks for Watching! I made a Nakiri from W1 flat bar. I put a Hamon on it for aesthetics. The handle is made from Bird's Eye Maple and brass. This was my first Nakiri and first time making a Japanese style knife. It was also the first time I made a knife with a hidden tang handle.

Thanks for checking it out!
That turned out really great. I’ve done one blade with a Hamon getting ready to try the second one! Was that just powdered abrasives that you mixed into a paste for polishing? I had quite the trial and error on my first one. Yours turned out really great! 👊
Yes it was 1500 grit silica carbide powder, an I mixed 3 in 1 oil with it, or sometimes mix wd40 with it to polish, think I like the wd40 better
Wow! Quite a process ❤
