I just bought my s2000 (swaped an ep3 type-r for it). I want to make a couple of track days almost full stock (stock exhaust, suspension and brakes). Ill be doing just a major overhaul maintenance, stock brakes upgrade, bafle sump, and r888r tires. Whats the suspension u have at the moment? And camber and toe setings? Thanks
You should inquire to Stop Tech about any manufacturing defects concerning their rotors, @Kevin Burke had a full rotor failure on his s2000 and is on Stop Techs, one failure is odd but two within a month leads me to believe something is off on their manufacturing
We actually had the failure occur on the same day! I’m in direct contact with StopTech so we’re working things out still. Rotors have been sent off for analysis two weeks ago. Speedfreaks USA (who I bought the BBK from) have been excellent throughout this whole process.
So what did Stoptech say about the rotors? I bought the same BBK right around the same time you bought yours, and also when Kevin Burke's rotor ring exploded. Everytime I go out on track, I'm slightly terrified something might happen!
Stoptech had me ship them the rotors and they provided some aero rotor replacements for free. I’ll have to ask my contact if they found anything in my rotor sample.
@@DIYGuysvideo Thanks. Do you happen to have the part number for the aero rotors that fit the C43? I read in a comment further down that your replacements are the vane style rotors, as opposed the pillar style rotors that the C43s came with. I would rather have a heavier rotor that is stronger and will last longer, as opposed to one that cracks as often as stock rotors.
I don’t have a part number since these rotors are custom. The aerovane rotors they actually sell don’t fit the C43 bracket on the s2000 kit. They had to mill these down before sending them out to me.
@@DIYGuysvideo and for anyone else who has this kit, Stoptech got back to me and told me they are in the process of making the aerorotors an official production part for the S2000 C43 kit. The market price for one ring will be $280. Below are the part numbers: The PNs for rings to fit on S2ks: 91.000.0972 91.000.0973 Also need to order the mounting hardware 89.000.0021 qty-2
@DIYGuysvideo glad to hear it got sorted eventually anyhow. I'm running the ST40 kit on my s2 - do you know if replacement rotor rings have gone up in price?
Hope to see you out on track sometime! Just curious, what kind of spacers do you run with that brake kit and the OEM wheels? Do you also run spacers in the rear to keep the track width consistent?
I’m going to try and run square on the stock suspension but I will probably get some high end one ways due to classing rules. Maybe custom ohlins or JRZ or MCS.
Australian tracks - Phillip island, Winton raceway and Sydney Motorsport park mainly - all pretty varying levels of harshness on brakes. Also I have No ducting but I do have air guides towards the brakes. Urge rear rotors like yourself.
Drone footage was done by fully licensed professionals. They have some agreement with Thunderhill. They are using FPV drones that go super fast. They typically film on the skid pad with the drifters but were trying out the road course with drift sf
Root cause is bad alternator and no battery power. It was resolved after the new alternator. Presumably interfered with the ignition coils and thus the spark required for combustion.
SuperTech (Walmart) 10w30 full synthetic. Change it every 7-10 track days or so. I typically do an oil analysis every oil change and the recommendation is to go longer on the oil.
Nothing extraordinary. Just make sure the spacers are torqued down. I was hesitant to get spacers at first but after looking on the forums I found several people who used spacers on track without issues.
I've cracked 3 sets. No where near wear indicator. Nothing like burke though. Maybe I should give stop tech a call. Last time I had issues with brakes I was told it's a motor sports part.... CR rear pads delamination.
You're a real humble dude and deserve everything good coming to you.
Great video! Have gotten so quick now! Hope i can get out there and join you guys soon.
Let’s goooo
Thanks Andrew. I've heard a bit about your build from Matt and I am so keen to see it out on the track
Love it 🔥🔥 congrats bud, see you at Sonoma in June!
Fantastic Video! I found it both entertaining and educational. Keep it up!
Looks like a fun couple of days (apart from the alternator issue 😞). Some stunning drone footage at the start 👍👍👍.
Love the video and driving!
im so glad i found your channel. I just bought an s2000 and your videos are so useful
Badass track sessions and alternator run lol. The s2000 chasing at the end was sweet!
Glad you liked it!
Great video and congrats on the record! It was nice to meet you and Nate out there, I hope to see you guys at many more events in the future
Thanks! You too!
the end 😂
Flying dude
Please make a video on the c43s

That motor is literally rock solid af
You braking to hard mate :D
Another good video, thanks for sharing.
Wonder if Stoptech will cover that. 🤔
They are sending me aero vane rotors which should be less prone to cracking

@@DIYGuysvideo oh damn, they better make an official set so everyone with a C43 can get one!
Thanks for letting me know.

Was there a resolution from Stoptech regarding the cracked rotor after one day?!
They replaced it but sent the wrong part multiple times. It was quite a shit show.

I'm running the ST40 kit on my s2 - do you know if replacement rotor rings have gone up in price?
@huangyishi yeah, they have doubled or tripled from what I’ve seen.
Hope to see you out on track sometime! Just curious, what kind of spacers do you run with that brake kit and the OEM wheels? Do you also run spacers in the rear to keep the track width consistent?
I’m running 25MM H&R Trak+ spacers. Not running spacers in the rear.
Just started watching your videos and love them so far. What suspension are you running on your cr? oem?
Yep. Everything is OEM unless stated in the description
@@DIYGuysvideo are you going to start upgrading other parts since you’ve upgraded your braking system?
Yes. I went sub 2 at Buttonwillow so I feel like I can start modifying my car a bit more. I would like to go square soon.
@@DIYGuysvideo Cool, what suspension are you possibly thinking of going with?
I’m going to try and run square on the stock suspension but I will probably get some high end one ways due to classing rules. Maybe custom ohlins or JRZ or MCS.
Same issue with c43 for me... cracked after 6 track days
What tracks do you run at? I was just told someone their rotors are cracking every 3-4 days on C43 kit.

they let you fly your drone on track?

What ever happened with the misfire?
Root cause is bad alternator and no battery power. It was resolved after the new alternator. Presumably interfered with the ignition coils and thus the spark required for combustion.
Sorry to be that guy - What oil are you running? 😇
SuperTech (Walmart) 10w30 full synthetic. Change it every 7-10 track days or so. I typically do an oil analysis every oil change and the recommendation is to go longer on the oil.
I love your content. Would you be interested in a sponsorship of sorts?
C43 fits the oem wheel?
It does with a 25MM spacer :)
@@DIYGuysvideo Thank you for your insightful videos. Are there any concerns or precautions you take with running a 25 mm spacer?
