I heard about how this movie was originally going to be a show on Disney Plus, but they turned it into a movie at the last minute. I think it would’ve been a lot better received if it had stayed a tv show.
Disney has lost the plot XD. Sequels, remakes, crappy movies, etc. I think we can all agree we’d rather have NEW shows and films that are good. What’s even more unfortunate is that you could make a good Moana sequel, or even other movies like it about Hawaiian mythology. I just don’t trust Disney to make good films, sadly. About the Lilo & Stitch remake what do you think about it Richard? I mean the cast are pretty much accurate for their animated counterparts? That is the only remake that I want to see next year. How about the How to Train your Dragon remake? What do you think about it? 🤔
It's totally fair to lose that trust in the studio! They've had a very rocky track record as of late and movies don't seem to hitting like they used to.

I’m optimistic about How to Train Your Dragon, that movie is great. I don’t think it needs a remake, but the cast looks fine, and Toothless looks good, although I wish he had more scales and looked a bit more realistic. Pretty sure Universal is only making it to advertise their new theme park (which looks great) but we’ll see how it turns out. What do you think of them?

Seriously, an animated series would've been so much better than a unnecessary sequel and the fact the marketing LIED to us that we were gonna get a new villain, only to get another misunderstood character is just infuriating to me. Luca, Turning Red and Inside Out 2 are also amazing and spectacular. You must be on cocaine and heroine buddy. Pixar is still more consistent than Disney to this day in terms of quality and emotional depth. Can't wait for Elio to come out next year. 😁😁

Also Moana 2 is a bit mid for me I think that's the problem with Disney Animation Studio unfortunately 2 years and 2 movie releases in a row that they failed to capture the magic. Pixar is still more consistent. You need to watch both (Inside Out 2 and Turning Red) and you need to compare both on which is much more complex when it comes to storytelling. For me Inside Out 2 has the edge because of its relatability but Turning Red is awesome too its just not for everybody because that film is specifically targeted for Millennials especially the ones who were born between 1988 to 1993 because it's set in 2002.

I too was sadly very disappointed by this film. Everything that I loved about the first film felt absent, the new characters were forgettable and even the story felt lacking to me. I just couldn’t get on board for the journey beyond the reef this time. Great review 👍
Wow, I was really interested in seeing this film, but after seeing this review and listening to the soundtrack which had only 3 songs that I enjoyed, I think I’ll just wait for it to come to Disney Plus
I saw it yesterday and I personally think the first one is better because of the nostalgia and whatever but the new one was also "more mature" in a sense where there were bigger and scarier monsters to appeal to the audience that was little that's now older when Moana (1) came out
Agreed there were more scary monsters in it but I personally enjoyed the movie and ya the reasons the songs weren't that catchy was because Lin-Manuel Miranda didn't write them
I completely agree - I went to go see the film in the cinema with my family, and I personally was really disappointed. The songs especially weren't sticking with me (and honestly reminded me of the god awful songs in Wish a bit). I think what definitely hurt the story was the fact it was a film, and I think they probably decided to do a film because they could possibly get more money out of filling seats, but not change the Disney+ Series plot in the slightest to make it work for a film. Overall, it was a huge bummer...

I knew that moana 2 was just gonna fail due to what the human villain matangi lacked in not being the main villain and not showing tamatoa and since they rushed into turning the serie into a film just because they didn't want a year with no disney animated film released this year i was right to hate disney since they started being rebellious since they shut down blue sky and canceled good shows too soon and keep making more episodes of disapointing shows!

Having watched it tonight I think it was good, not great by a long shot, and obviously not on the level of the first movie, but it was enjoyable and definitely a step up from Strange World and Wish that had good concepts, but felt like no effort was put into them beyond that, it felt like there was at least a bit of effort with Moana 2, but not enough to justify its existence
Now about Moana 2 while i do really like the music, songs, characters and voice performances and its world building. I felt like this films biggest downfall is the plot itself its very incoherent and some of the scenes are clearly looked like they are stitched in and out. Also there are some dialogues that are quiet very off-putting and its very noticeable. So in my take this movie is an overall worthy or safe sequel but not fantastic. But i still think this movie is better than Kung Fu Panda 4, Spellbound and The Fall Guy (which i basically DISLIKED). So James what do you think of my review of the movie because i've seen this 2 days ago actually.

@ReelJames I might, a lot of my family members are fans of the original movie, so I'll likely end up going with them if they see it. Though likely not this weekend, in my area movies usually come out two or three weeks after the release.

Excuse me👀 but isnt this movie Moana2 was created for children and not grown men in their 30s ..ummm I'm sure children would like it 😮 and that's the purpose.
