    There is one thing all these groups have in common: ineffective supervision. The person responsible either turns them loose or encourages the behavior.

    I just got back from Disney and their was a HUGE group that was going to the parks to the point some of them were at the hotel we were staying at and they were RUDE had NO MANNERS and they felt ENTITLED like if they owned the park.

    For the Brazilian groups it could have been due to their cultural environment. I spent some time years ago going to school in the Philippines. When going through the registration process there was no concept of orderly lines. It was a mob. Being the tall American I had the advantage of being able to hold my place against the shoving and pushing. But I felt rude just having to compete for my turn at the registration window.

    One thing I noticed, even when I was a teen: The Christian teens who are very sheltered and don't get out much lose their absolute minds when they're given any kind of freedom and act worse than "regular" teens. They don't know how to act in public and they all feed off each other. I stopped going to youth events for that reason alone. There were some kids who were visitors at these events that did cause issues but the biggest problems I saw came from (generally) the homeschool kids who don't socialize much outside of these events. I understand they're not horrible for the sake of being horrible, they just don't know any better. But that doesn't mean I want to be around it lol
    That's not me ragging on all homeschool kids. I know plenty who are the exact opposite of what I'm complaining about. But I grew up in a church full of homeschool kids who had zero social skills and no idea how to act in the "real world." Then they're let loose in a crowd of people, especially other kids with similar backgrounds... My mom chaperoned *one* event and stopped forcing me to go to them after that. 😂
    Edit: spelling

    I was on both ends of High School physics days. There's a reason they were separated into groups of no more than 5. And they had to measure some physics while on the rides using hand-held instruments. Wrap that strap tight, tight, tight around your wrist and don't let go.
    There was a large cluster of a certain ethnic group near the park I worked. The community would occasionally come out in force. If we found out when they were, we would immediately ask for them off as this group was notorious for entitlement and other bad behavior. I heard one story where a coworker got bitten by a member of this community on one of these days. And a Halloween Haunt event (not park-related) got temporarily shut down because management warned the actors to basically ignore members of this community due to the extremely high number of incidents the community causes.

    I remember those days of the color coded groups and they were bad. It got to the point where I would see a group heading one way so I would go the other way. Regarding the cheer competitions, they would do everything you mentioned plus doing it on the ride. SeaWorld Orlando used to host them many, many years ago until they stopped doing it.

    I worked at WDW from 89 -94 and your video brought back a lot of memories. I tell lots of similar stories when discussing Disney Cast Member days.

    I saw the tour groups when I visited WDW. They just stood out like sore thumbs with their matching shirts and whatnot.
    It's probably not the kids themselves, but the adults who either encourage the bad behavior or don't care.

    We never had adult supervision at my grad night in 1990. We did have to dress up because they thought if kids were dressed nicer, they wouldn't be so bad. This was at Disneyland

    I used to work no the steam train in MK in the 90s. We had a BTG go sunbathing topless on the grassy area alongside the tracks in Tomorrowland, as in they went over the low fence that was there when it was Mickey's Starland.
    I think I was doing the speil and just stopped mid sentance..

    As a current MK cast member, cheerleaders as the worst. In a previous job at a tourist attraction international tour groups were terrible. We had to ban particular guides for similar reasons.

    One of the nights I was there, there was this part of girls, about half a dozen so I don't know if it was someone's birthday, bachelorette party, girls' night out or what but one of them was being 'carried' (one arm around the neck of each of her friend) and barely walking she was so drunk. To my knowledge they didn't get on any rides - I doubt they would have been allowed but what kind of trip to Disneyland was that?

    I do not like how Disney uses the wide lines instead of smaller thinner lines. It causes frustration when people are already hot, tired, hungry, and just want and like order.

    • @SirWillow
      @SirWillow  Рік тому

      yes, but many of those lanes are wide now so that wheelchairs and scooters can go through the regular lines instead of having separate ones.

    By 2:55 You say that the teenages--couples in particulae--aren't supposed to be doing "that". What is "that"? Dare I ask, is it something for which they should ideally wait until at least their wedding night?

    I have to apologise quite often to non-christians for the attitudes and behaviours of a lot of 'christians' - as a Christian, it's very embarassing.

  • @Musicalcoasters96
    @Musicalcoasters96 Рік тому

    Every time you talk about these Christian festivals and I understand it's necessary, makes me cringe. We are not all like this, the massive group I visited CWonderland with on their one day Christian festival was not the screaming, breaking, drug doing, etc type. But yes keep bringing this up, it sheds new and necessary light on to why these things don't happen. When you're the innocent teen group, you don't notice this. I've had those "wait your parents did WHAT? UM. NO." conversations with my friends before about their upbringing and yeah....ouch.
    Tangent over.

    Notably the tour groups wore identical colored shirts. Were these provided by the park or did the tour organizer provide them?

    • @SirWillow

      It was part of the tour group. the parks most definitely didn't provide them

    The summer of 2006 I took my then 6 and 7 year old nephew and niece to Disney in July. Big mistake -- imagine being trapped in a merchandise location with a bunch of international kids during one of the summer monsoons. It was a memorable event, but not in a good way. Sweaty teenaged boys!

      I totally get it. it's why I usually mention my telling co workers that we're not all like that. I didn't mention this time either why I never had issues like that with my groups when I took them- supervision, didn't take anyone I didn't know, or anyone who I wasn't sure was going to behave.

    Having grown up at a Christian family
    Resort in upstate NY, you are COMPLETELY correct about both the teenagers and many of their entitled nasty parents who then have the audacity to “witness”. Totally agree with that! And yes, as a Jesus follower, it’s so embarrassing!
