57:46 - 59:37 For me, this bit will always go down as one of the best kung fu movie training sequences I've ever seen; not only is the choreography from both actors absolutely amazing, but this part makes for an awesome tone shift that lets people know how serious things are getting. Up until this point, the movie was okay, but the movie really steps on the gas after following up the reveal about the main character's parents with high intensity practice. I love it! 😀
Late Happy Holiday Grand Abbot OG. Man, you doing this took me straight back to the days of El Rey holiday marathon. Thank yooooooooooooooooooooou !!!!
So, Pok Chin Chu's (Chang Shan) motivation for tracking down and ending the life of 'The King of Chefs'/Grandpa (Chia Kai) was jealousy. What did Pok gain for completing his task? A trope that is often seen in kung fu films is that one can learn another person's style of martial art just by observing said person performing their style. One cannot become proficient in a martial art just by watching and then mimicking the movements. If one is not taught the martial technique within the movements then you are simply doing gymnastic floor routines or dancing. I see the waiter (Ou Li-Pao) is still happily serving the customers at the restaurant. The music sample playing in the opening credits and when Grandpa is training Tan Tan (Jacky Chen Shao-Lung) in order for Tan to get his revenge on Pok is The Immortal Four Heavens-James Wong. This is your run-of-the-mill kung fu film.

My favorite line in this film has always been:
Evil Guy:
Small Fry, you fight pretty good!"
Good Guy:
" We'll naturally! I trained hard!"
😂
Yeah that's a good one!!!
Again this movie very super style kung fu fighter, I watched it very often.
1:14:56 - 1:15:00 Hard to find an exchange this simple and raw these days.
