I bought this exact model used. I'm glad because this is the only headless guitar with a trem in my price range. At first I assumed the guitar was bad because its so cheap. Good review!

I see why they distance themselves from this trem. While i like it i already got a lot of messages from people that just got problems with it. The company is losing money when they all send their guitars back. But i would like an EX with this too.
Hi. Ist die andere Gitarre im Bild "meine" Gitarre? Neuer Pickup? Das Werksetup mit komplett geraden Hals und ca. 1,25mm E und 1,00mm e Saite war mir persönlich viel viel zu niedrig und unspielbar, konnte man aber ja ändern. Aber gottseidank haben wir ja alle andere Vorlieben. BTW bekomm ich diese Woche eine JET JS400 rein. Auch schonmal getestet?
Jupp, das ist sie. Kein neuer pickup, nur mal ein schwarzes cover getestet. Fand deine Einstellung zu hoch und unbequem😁.Ist jetzt wieder runter auf 1mm. JET hatte ich noch garnicht im Haus, mal gucken wann ich mir eine zulege.
@@CoryMura Bin selbst auf die JET gespannt. Ich sag ja, mir war die Saitenlage bei der EART unspielbar niedrig, aber jeder wie er mag. BTW war die für mich nach Einstellung immer noch niedrig - was für den guten Hals und die Bünde der EART spricht, bei meinen übrigen Gitarren ist die nämlich im Schnitt immer noch 0,25-0,50mm höher 😲
Great review man, as always! Really enjoying your vids. I got the GW1 after your first video about Eart and am loving it ever since. Can you maybe give some more specific advice, on what you mean with "it's great when you know what you do?". I haven't touched the trem unit at all (at least not the little adjustor next to the input jack), and I have the feeling that my GW1 does jump out of tune relatively fast after some use of the trem bar. Was there anything special you did with it? Cheers in advance
Thanks! Join the Facebook group "eart support group" and we can discuss this directly. I will maybe make a video just about the trem too. But won't be very soon probably. But basically the screw besides the input jack adjusts the sping tension. The spring tension works against the string tension.. it balances out the trem so it can be adjusted to be perfectly flat. Its need to be perfectly flat so that the lever can lock in perfectly. Its pretty delicate to adjust. Once this is all set, its just stretching the trem( by hand or by using the trem heavily) , tune it, stretch again, tune it.. Until it doesn't go out of tune anymore. And THEN i wont gp out of tune no matter what you do, like i show in the video.

Yes, I am already in that group but figured I'd wait till your GW1 Video for questions regarding the trem unit (since many others might have the same issue). So basically you adjusted the spring tension until you could lock in the little lever to make it a 'hardtail' bridge, without having to bend the bridge to make it lock in? And after that you just played around with the trem until it didn't go out of tune? Sorry if I'm just repeating what you said, trying to make sure it's right since I don't really get the mechanics/physics behind it...
Quick update: I did exactly that right after I typed out my comment. It took some time to tune back and forth whilst fiddling around with that spring in the back, but I eventually got the "sweet spot". Holy shit - I'm loving it! Stays in tune A LOT better, if not perfectly (still doing minor teaks every now and then). It was my fav guitar already due to it's comfortable (!!!!) design, now it's even better. Any idea why are they discontinuing this model? I was about to buy one of them, but only after i will sell an amp that i have for sale, are they closing the buisness (they have a sale on their website now), or maybe they will introduce a new model with tremolo?
I spoke with them and the reason is the tremolo or lets say that customers don't know how to handle it. Every customer that send their guitar back makes them losing money. So that's the reason. The trem is totally fine imo. They are not closing, it's the opposite. They are expanding. They need to make space in their warehouse afaik. So that's why there was a sale
Eart sind ziemlich klein. Die sind noch darauf angewiesen Gitarren zu bauen die sich sehr gut verkaufen. Lefties sind sicherlich absolut möglich wenn sie sich besser im Markt behauptet haben.
@@CoryMura mir ist durchaus Bewusst, dass Hersteller natürlich marktwirtschaftlich kalkulieren müssen und entsprechend das Produktportfolio ausrichten. Als Betroffener ist das dennoch ein wenig frustrierend. Die Frage ist ob EART dann immer noch ein Schnapper ist wenn se es sich leisten können mehr als ein Leftymodell im Portfolio zu haben. Trotz allem find ich die Headless interessant.
