  • Hello, I'm Lance (aka Bundy Bear), and doing these videos is my hobby. I do own Queensland Tractor Spares in Australia where I sell parts and offer technical advice to customers.
Parts seen in our videos can be purchased from www.queenslandt...
We have a lot more than we can offer on our web site available to us and in our store. If you don't see what you would like please email info@queenslandtractorspares.com.au or call 1300 850 097 and we will help where we can.
I do try and help with technical advice at bundybearsshed@gmail.com if you have a question or are having trouble with your project.

It is always good when you find the cause of a problem and as well you can rectify it. I imagine that even with your skills it would be the same. Good luck.

Yes it is always a good feeling to get on top of a problem, even if I caused it myself.

25:38 Don't we all sometimes forget maintenance when we seldom use the machinery 😊. So nice little job with a great result. 😊🇩🇰

A success! we often find out the hard way about maintenance spots eh. Good to see you using the lathe, it's looking far too new at the moment 😊

Been a while for me doing these, I used to work at the auto-elecs while going to uni (wow 25 years ago now) We used to lightly undercut generator comms. Starter, it was a case by case thing. Never heard of tracking being the reason, the goal was always clean edges between the comm bars and no chance of it rding on the unsulation (which would cause break arching thinking about it. Key point was geeting rid of copper dags. W used to just hook/scrape them out with a hook mad out of a hacksaw blade (quicker than using a tool on lathe). It was sort of sharp enough to light chamfer the edge and just make sure it was clean.
Lube looks like your problem as you say, in combination with no sintered bronze bush. The bronze bush would make it pretty bullet proof beside remembering to give it a drop or two of oil every year or so.
