hey don't want to sound like a conspiracy or anything ,bush belongs to the Skulls and Bones, hes not a real christain en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Skull_and_Bones_members, Skulls and Bones is one those successful cults full of powerfull people
Thank you for your thorough list of needs to consider and purchase: Number of Devices, internal and external uses, power plugs or POE (use of a Cisco Switch with POE), form factors that will meet your needs. :)
Eli: In one of those antique books "Popular Mechanics" there is a description of a early phone system before all the telephone poles were put up, that is a copper wire sunk into a 25 foot well. They were then able to wirelessly connect with neighbor farms who had done the same thing all in a party line. I wonder if this Mesh network isn't actually the same thing.
Eli, I appreciate your videos and the explanation on Open Mesh. Hey, Open Mesh is great and I have used it in a couple of test environments, both worked really well. One thing I have encountered in my testing is that they also have a 3rd party feature that provides for CALEA reporting. As most should know, you can't just set up a WiFi device and create a hotspot for the general public without having CALEA reporting compliance. There are very few exceptions and as of today the only exceptions are libraries. Of course you should made sure the law hasn't changed before installing any sharable resources. The whole idea of CALEA being that law enforcement can review your connect/access records for the purposes of law enforcement. Have you or any of your commenter's explored this feature?
Great want to learn more can you advise how much bandwidth can run on the network and how many users can use it at the same time. If I plug all or some with different internet provider can the bandwidth will be merged and in can one fails other will provide a back up. What is the rang of each device can I use it for small community?
I have a need for more WIFI power to get to my wireless security cameras. I am tired of seeing "IPC Disconnect." I have an AT&T Uverse router/modem but it doesn't seem to extend to the cameras on the back of my home with a strong signal (or is the signal coming from the camera software box? Either way, I lose connections is less than 60 ft). A friend gave me an Open-Mesh A40 Access Point to try but my question is; I know it is not just plug-n-play so can I use the same SSID and password so I don't have to take down my cameras and have to reconnect them. If I can use it, how do I set it up? I went to Open-Mesh website and I do not see anything showing me how to connect. Thank you all for your support.
How fast are these connections? Another question, does it matter if the outlets are low near the floor to get a good reception from these access points? Is there a more simple solution for just a two story home no larger than 1600 square feet with 3 bedrooms & a one car garage? By the way, I don't think I need more than 4 access points to cover my home. Thanks.
Hey Eli BTW "Each node provides built-in DHCP routing by default, dynamically assigning an IP address to clients, regardless of which SSID they've connected to. Nodes are capable of assigning 1,022 total IP addresses. If you'd prefer to use the DHCP server on your LAN, you can enable Bridge mode on SSID#2. With this enabled, we'll forward all requests to your internal DHCP. SSID#1 cannot be configured for the option of bridging" . got this off their site.
Hi there I just came across this video and I appreciate all this information is this company still out there I want to extend my internet access from my apartment from one side to the other I ran a internet cable on the roof and purchase one these Wavlink AC 1200 but they don’t give good detail how to connect or mesh between this antenas as I was trying to use other one Wavlink AC 600 I then was given a used open mesh A42 so I don’t know what will be more effective
Eli, not to be a pest, but I looked at my version of Cloudtrax (as of 02/26/15) and I don't see the application level of granularity that you show (bandwidth usage) on your review. I would really like to see that too, but my Cloutrax view does not include that option. Any suggestions?
Hi from Uk we are in a very rural area, and our internet connection is very slow, hopefully we will be having super fast broadband. But to make the computer work faster i just remove photos anything that may slow the connection down. I have thought of going wireless, but i do not think it will make much difference to the speed of the internet.
Thanks a million for this review. I am probably going to buy on Open Mesh system for my 5100 sqaure foot office. Question for anyone that has experience with Open Mesh or any other similar hardware: Comparing the OM2P-HS to the MR900, I am wondering if there is going to be a practical REAL PER USER SPEED difference. Obviously the MR900 is going to handle more users. I don't need to have more than 10 users on any one AP, but I want them to be as quick as possible.
I don't understand why you would require a regular router. At this moment in time, we have no functioning regular router except for a computer acting as a dumb router, but we have two OM2Ps that were never actually used. So, is it that I cannot connect an OM2P directly to the cable modem while expecting results or is it just not ideal/recommended?
My high school probably uses something like this. Starting las year, the handed out macbook air laptops for everyone to use (for lease). 1500 kids go there. It would be my question if they would go this type of network, where each wireless router (if that's what they are considered) can have a smaller amount of persons on each, or go for only a few that would be more top notch and expensive one. The probably would go for the more expensive one, 'cause hey, the lease $1000 macbook airs to all of the students and are planning to get the newer models every four years.
Hello there, just have one questions, if i'm having VoIP call and walking between the access points defiantly my devise will change the connectivity to nearest node, while doing that, does will call get disconnected? Regards, Ehab
And god said let there be mesh networks. And it was good and the people did rejoice. And the lord said harken unto me. Connect. Connect humble servents of my kingdom, connect with the spagetti monster within you all.
Have few Great want to learn more can you advise how much bandwidth can run on the network and how many users can use it at the same time. Wow, I just went to their open-mesh web site, and their web site does not longer show OM2P-LC for $55. The less expensive one costs $75 (with antenna). The next one OM2P-HS 300 Mbps Access Point goes for $95. Thus, if one needs 3 or 4 of these puppies, it will be a bit on the expensive side, and I didn't include the cost of adapters, enclosures, etc. Does anyone know a less expensive equipment. I ask this because I will soon move to another house which it will be bigger, and I will need to set up a mesh network to cover the whole house, a two story home with 3 bedroom and garage with an area of about 16000 square feet. Thanks for this video, though.
Are you really complaining about a $95 access point with rock solid performance? Technology/quality changes and prices change to match. Open Mesh is by far still the most affordable enterprise level solution when it comes to self-healing mesh networks. You would still pay less buying 3 of these (with extras) than getting 3 high end routers from BestBuy.
Eli, I have the MR 1750 and I keep getting a 10. address on wireless devices. I checked the DHCP server on router and it is set to 192.168.1.1 Do you know why I keep getting a 10. address?
They do kext's and not normal drivers, I have run images from hackingtoshes and all the Macs you can on my Mac without having to do anything. There are many restore features built in to macOS
eli, pls make ur video's shorter. 75 mins is just too long ( if all ur video's were really condensed to minimum length possible though i probably would watch a 75 minute one then )

DOes each MESH device have a WAN port to connect via Ethernet instead?

Hi, thank you for your video :) Can I flash Open Mesh Firmware for Ubiquiti UnFi LR and use with Cloudtrax?
They Make Switches Now too
does hotspot shield or other vpn(s) hides my activities tracked by open mesh local network admins?
Why the F#$% haven't I been subscribed?
Though I was a long time ago. lol
Keep up the fantastic work, man!
can you create small ISP network that you can sell to anyone using your network on a monthly basis
Did you find your answer help me with your learning

images work a lot better for Macs though you also don't need to install any software
Um what?

Still have no idea what you're talking about.
you were talking about restoring images from other computers was not viable but in some situations I believe it's worth a try on Macs
