Hi. I have “mature” hooded lids. I’m curious what brush you use to blend your cream shadows with. The one I’m using doesn’t work that well - not smooth - kind of skips. Thanks
@@kayacosta705 Older comment, but I have slightly hooded lids with ample skin and deal with a lot of skipping. But regardless of eyelid shape, I think dense, domed eyeshadow brushes work the best for blending out cream eyeshadows. I wouldn't use large fluffy brushes the way you would to diffuse powder eyeshadow, as they're not dense enough and don't blend cream well. Also, go for synthetic bristles for creams, rather than reaI hair that is often recommended for powders. I use the older purple version of the Real Techniques Deluxe Crease brush (newer pink one is a big too big and not as dense) to beautifully blend cream eyeshadows on my lid and crease. Another option is the Sephora Pro 18 brush. Then I use a miniature version of that brush style I found in a drugstore to do the same on my lower lashline. The key is something relatively short and dense enough to blend cream efficiently, and quickly since you don't have endless playtime like with powder eyeshadow.
If your eyeshadow stick is too tuggy (and you still want to get your use out of it) use your blowdryer to warm it up a bit and that will make the formula a little more workable. 5 seconds should be all you need if it’s on hot. 👍😘
Yay, I love seeing you review these! I picked up my first set of Mally shadow sticks last Christmas, and I think the thing I like most about them (besides the fact that you can get so many in a set for a good price!) is that she has a lot of great one-and-done shades that Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier just don't have in their range.
I love mally shadow sticks. I do find the purples fade pretty quickly. I think my two favorite shades are thistle (a mid tone grey purple matte) and autumn shimmer (a rose gold with a hint of orange/copper). She doesn't really do limited edition shades but some are only available in sets. Getting these in sets is the only way to go. It's always a better deal to buy than getting one for $25.
I've had one of Mally's shadow sticks (Burnished Bronze) for a couple years now (yes I did say YearS😂) and I just LOVE that stick!! It is one of the Extra sticks and it is quite sparkly which I love. And the best part is that this shadow stick is as creamy and emollient as the day I purchased it!!! Shocking actually... I keep half expecting it to be dried out everytime I pick it up to use it... But, nope, still a winner😁❤
I had totally forgotten about Mally! It sounds like these are a good deal and worth a try. I would LOVE to see you review the Rituel de Fille ash and ember eye soots though, I really trust your opinion and would like to see your take on them.
Older set of eyes here. I found 1 stick of Mally's Shadow Stick Extra in the shade Over the Taupe. It works well for me as a one & done, or adda Nars deep brown on out lash line. I don't work with the shadow, just paint my lid. It's actually a bit too dark for my light skin. It last until I remove it late at night.
I do appreciate what you said at the end that you try to help us save money. Because you have saved me money and I’ve also spent money based on your recommendations! I trust you!! Thanks! 😘
Thank you , Shelbey, I do want to try cream shadows but I am still looking for the Laura Mercies, I am in love with the Caviar Mascara, so now I will look for the eye crayons,
I loved Malloy when it was sold at Kohl’s, one of my favorite pallets is Mally. While I love mercies shadow sticks Im completely enamored with colour pop pallets. Esp Going coconuts and Taupe. Ride or die
I don’t even know how long I’ve been wearing these shadow sticks ….. 10+ years? A LONG time. They might’ve been the first shadow stick I ever tried, and began my love for shadow sticks. The Mally sticks last allllll day. I ran to get the set on QVC. I’ve been off my computer all day, so unfortunately I got them on waitlist. Hoping they come back in stock! 🙏 Great review, Shelby!
Have you considered trying Vieve? I love her eyeshadow, bronzer and blush formula and heard her cream shadow sticks are amazing. Sending oodles of love
Do you wear a primer underneath your shadow sticks?? I’m sure you told but I missed it. Thank you SW! Oh and how do you feel about the smash box always on cream shadows? I picked up two shades and love them.
I have mally eye shadows stick and almost every color. I started getting them due to my disability putting on eyeshadow it’s difficult for me because of my hand coordination they are easy to put on and stay on the only problem I have with mine is they never look on me the way they do on other people when watching your video I was wondering what lipstick are you wearing? It looks beautiful on you and I would love to know what it is.
If you have any tips for me on how to get the eyeshadow stick to look like yours when you put it on, that would be great because I put mine on and very fast. It starts looking like a very, very muted color, which I know it’s not the case
This brand never quite got the marketing it needed and kind of fell by the wayside. I think they were dealing bankruptcy issues and bought out some time ago, but don't quote me on that. I hear a lot of good things about these eyeshadow sticks and the colors (at least what's on offer right now) look absolutely stunning. They also have photos of how each color looks on the eyes on people with different skin tones, which is really helpful. I absolutely would try a few of these shades - umber brown, burnished bronze, and amber glow look particularly gorgeous - but I'm worried about them no longer being available.
Since Mally isn’t available for us in Australia, I would be interested in trying some of the Bobbi Brown ones. What colours would you recommend in the BB formula? I absolutely love my LM caviar sticks, but I am always willing to try other brands. Have you tried the matte liquid Ulta cream shadows, Amanda always goes on about them? Lots of love from Melbourne ♥️😊
I was super disappointed in this set as well. Her old school shades Autumn Shimmer and Beach Bronze are outstanding. But the shades aren’t always stocked.
I've been watching some of your other videos today Shelby and I notice that you often use the word *Infamous to describe things. And I wonder if you mean distinct or well-known, or do you mean known for something bad? Because Infamous has a very negative, connotation and I wonder if that's what you really mean when you describe things as Infamous. Just telling you this now in case you want to check up on the definition of thé word. Feel free to delete this post, if you want.
I still refer to your older cream eyeshadow tutorials or “one and done” videos to this very day so I’m super excited to see your opinion on these!
Thank you!! ❤️❤️❤️

Good tip, thanks!
Her shadow sticks are WONDERFUL! I’ve been using them for years and years.

I’ve been using Mally shadow sticks for years and actualy thought they stopped selling them. So happy to find out they’re still out there!!!
They’re hard to find other than QVC!
What a coincidence that I had just ordered a set of these today. I have used them before and enjoyed them very much.
I received a mally eyeshadow stick in one of my subscription boxes and LOVE them! They really do stay put

Love her shadow sticks, I have the burnished bronze too! They're all great.
@@marybeth23 I'm definitely interested in getting other colors now!! With yours, do you find that they crease throughout the day??
@@lynnwhite1053 not if I use a tiny amount of shadow primer, let it dry!

I love Mally shadow sticks! I use them as a base for my shadows. I have very oily eyelids and they are the only thing that help with longevity
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Appreciate you telling us the condition of your lids, ie dryer. I think that is important. I love cream eye shadows too!
I love this company because their products are great plus they are cruelty free.
Been using Mally sticks for several years. Love them but yes, sometimes hard to find. Thanks for showing.
I do appreciate what you said at the end that you try to help us save money. Because you have saved me money and I’ve also spent money based on your recommendations! I trust you!! Thanks! 😘
Thanks for the QVC tip! I checked out their site & they were offering $15.00 off for new customers & so I got the 5 shadows + a mascara!🎉👍
Thank you , Shelbey, I do want to try cream shadows but I am still looking for the Laura Mercies, I am in love with the Caviar Mascara, so now I will look for the eye crayons,
Yay Sephora recs soon! 🛒 👏🏼 🛍
This is why it's a good idea to go back and look at what you've missed. Lol I'm 60 and these are right up my alley! Thanks Shelbey as always!
Thank you for reviewing these!
Hey. It’s my favorite beauty UA-camr!!
I loved Malloy when it was sold at Kohl’s, one of my favorite pallets is Mally. While I love mercies shadow sticks Im completely enamored with colour pop pallets. Esp Going coconuts and Taupe. Ride or die
The 8/6/3 stick sets r on sale at Nordstrom for $52/$39/$29.I think Mallys eyeshadow sticks have more longevity than any other I have tried.

Ugh - I was worried QVC wouldn’t have a lot of stock!
YEP, QVC is where I get my Mally. Her shadow sticks are great!

Thanks for letting me know about them
Can you please review the sunnies eye crayons 🙏
How long do you find shadow sticks last? You got me hooked on the caviar sticks. I love them. But are pricey.

I miss when Kohl’s carried Mally.
Me too!!! I have a pallet that I bought there and I love it. I’m going to go check out her website.
It seems there are limited places to buy their products!
And ulta!

I see them on Amazon frequently if anyone hasn’t checked there.
Thanks for the review. Have you tried the ones by Julep from Amazon?
I buy the Julep ones at Kohl’s (ever since Target stopped selling them).
What defines a mature lid? Texture? Age? Shape?
Kohls carry these also.
Since Mally isn’t available for us in Australia, I would be interested in trying some of the Bobbi Brown ones. What colours would you recommend in the BB formula?

Nordstrom's has 3 different sets online now
Nordstrom has 3 different sets of Mally eyeshadow sticks!
