It’s about the record store vibes 🎉
Good insights. I understand why people gravitate to vinyl. I could easily get into records, but I already grew up with records and 8-tracks, transitioned to cassettes, transitioned again to CD, and then transitioned to digital and dumped all my physical media 20 years ago. I love having a mammoth hi-res digital collection that fits on a micro SD card. But now I have felt like I want a physical object for the music I love most, and I have gone back into CDs. They sound great if you avoid the well-known badly mastered titles, and you don't have to spend 10k on gear to get good sound.
There is nothing better than making the effort to go to an actual record store for your purchases knowing that you are supporting the owner and his family
There is definitely a better feeling when I part with my money in a store than online. But for me it’s the experience of the in person shopping that can’t be replicated online.
This was great. You should do more videos talking about issues relating to the music industry & retail stores with guests like Anthony or others.
Thanks Brendon. That was a thoughtful discussion, albeit an alarming one too. I just try to be as optimistic as I can about it all and hope that one day (assuming the industry sinks again) folks will eventually wake up and say hey, albums and physical media need to come back. As soon as it’s gone or nearly gone, music lovers everywhere will yearn for a stronger connection to the music, thus returning back to physical media again.
Hi Richard! I find everything goes in cycles so hopefully like vinyl booming again, I hope CDs aren’t far behind. And perhaps when both are back they will stick around this time.
Great show Brendon. Very interesting. I agree with your comments regarding the new Cult album only being 35 minutes in length. But did you know the up and coming Dead Daisies album 'Radiance' is also only 35 minutes long? I feel a trend setting in and its not one I like. Don't get me wrong I don't expect albums to be 70 minutes long but I do think the perfect length cd is usually around 45 to 50 minutes. 👍
Sound Exchange is the closest store to me, and since Anthony became owner of the store, the store has improved immensely to the point it is now my go to Record Store.
I know what you mean! He’s doing a great job!
Excellent discussion as I've noticed huge rise in cds on Ebay, and now Discogs are mega bucks too. Thanks for sharing this great topic.
With the advent of Napster, streaming has now been around 23 years. Everything comes full circle. So as the CD started to fall with the rise of streaming, maybe two decades later it’s starting to rise again. I hope so!
just certain ones/pressings
Hey Brendon: 👍. Cool discussion. Rock Always! - Heather
I still love buying physical media movies and acourse CDs I listen to alot of hard rock and metal that's my world and I can't wait for the new Ozzy Osbourne album to drop!!! I'm 41yrs.young by the way hopefully 42 in August, there's a couple of albums I'm waiting for and I can't wait hellyeah!!!!!!😎🤘🤘🤘🍺🍺
Lots of good stuff to be looking forward to for sure! Happy early birthday!
Great discussion. Thank you.🤘🏼
Good talk. I just got back into collecting CDs again myself over the last few months and im definitely trying to take avdantage of the dirt cheap prices while I can, before some sort of CD revival happens. I used to hunt for vinyl but ive been priced out.
Wow that was one great you video, you and Anthony did a great job!
Really learned a lot from that! The closest record store to me is a 40 minute drive away so my options locally are Wal Mart, Target, but mostly I buy on line from Amazon or EBay. I have found a couple Indy stores I buy on line 1 in North Carolina and another near Philly. That was one of the best videos you have posted really enjoyed that.
That’s great to hear Stephen, I’m glad you enjoyed it and also learned a lot. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes it’s helpful to know and understand it.
Great Show ...Love watching you and Anthony together do reviews......I just bought 5 records today.......Thank You.........Peace from toronto Canada.
Enjoy your new music!
Great discussion guys it’s important topic it’s all over the world same issue here in Ireland we should all support more independent record stores ☘️Paul Dublin
The more support we can bring to our local record stores the more they will be there for us as music fans.
I really enjoy you talking with him, great conversations!
Thanks Trevor, I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Brendon, you just keep getting better and better. What an awesome idea for this show and its insights. This has got to generate more interest in these mom and pop shops. They need are patronage if we are to continue to enjoy them. I wish more like this existed around me but they are a dying breed. Hopefully they will make a comeback because their has to be people out there that miss going to there local shop and hanging out listening and searching for music. Nice show✌🏻
Thank you Tony, I’m so glad you’re enjoying the channel as it grows. I hope to be able to bring more awareness to this issue and create support for independent record stores along the way.
Hey Brendon great topic. The Captain is making plans to set sail from port Philadelphia to join you at this store on August 6th. Looking forward to meeting you and finding some hidden gems. Cheers!
Oh that’s exciting! The elusive Captain will be revealed! I’m looking forward to meeting you!
I’m in my early 20s. For me the reason I’m willing to spend $40-50 on a new vinyl is because it’s from an artist that I truly love I have to like atleast most (>50%) of an album or I don’t see myself buying it. The level of appreciation and respect I have for an artist, as well as the overall impact that there music has on me is another factor.
What a superb video. Was great to get the views of the shop owner. Interesting to hear that CDs are still popular, as a fan of the format myself. I sell a few used CDs and have noticed people are interested in early and 1st pressings as well. The new Tool album is annoying, how they have got away with just releasing the CD version at a minumum of $40 is beyond me. Will it ever get a standard release?
Great episode guys! Anthony is such a cool dude! I think both physical media and concert ticket prices are increasing because physical media isn't as popular as it used to be. Streaming is what's popular these days, so artists have to do what they can to survive and adjust to the times. They got to make money somehow.
I have loved Kix since they released their first album....trouble is, you have to go to Maryland to see them play....
They do make there way out from time to time. Keep your eyes & ears peeled!
@@BrendonSnyder I will thank you! Kix are are not for kids...they're for everyone..
Thanks for this video dude. Anthony is great. He's really trying to make Sound Exchange something special, and to be honest, it already is. I want one of those Sound Exchange shirts lol
Hi Joe! I agree and Anthony is doing a great job making everyone feel welcomed which is really cool.
Thank You Joe!!!
WOW! Thanks Brendon what a FANTASTIC interview! I would very much rather support local "Brick & Mortar" record stores, even if it costs a little more, however in my area w ave NO record stores! The closest record store to me is about a two hour drive so it's no wonder that I just order online! Thanks for this fantastic presentation and very informative, as well!
Unfortunately that is the case for most people. There are lots that would rather got to the record store but there aren’t any close by. It’s a real shame. Shopping online is not the same and far less fun.
wonderful topic brendon. next time i have a vacation i should take a plane from canada to jersey and meet ya and go to this store. id love to have that kiss love gun cd. i cant find it here. great video bro
mike
friend from canada eh!!
Hi Mike! If you do decide to make the trip let me know and I’ll meet up with you at Sound Exchange. As for the Kiss album, or another one that you might see from Sound Exchange, give them a call, they will ship to you.
Man, this was a great video. I hope you guys do more collaborations. I'm happy to see that your channel is still growing.
Anthony and I had a blast! I certainly plan to do more with him.
I am stoked on hanging and talking music Brendon as much as we can!
That was great, thank you!
You’re welcome!
Great discussion. I feel sure that being a record store owner is nothing but a labor of love. Yes , records get pricey but it's still a niche market and I don't see anyone getting rich off of it
I hate the parking lots of local record stores ( downtown , no dedicated parking for their stores) but this a reminder that I need to get offline more and buy from them.
I hope you do more videos like this :)
Thanks for the feedback Wendy, I’m glad you enjoyed it. I certainly will be doing more videos like this one.
I loved doing this and look forward to many more!
great interview Brendon, love your thinking out of the box for your channel.

@@BrendonSnyder would love to but since I’m currently located in Denmark/Europe 🇩🇰 I’ll take a rain check 🙏🏻🎸 Promise to view with great pleasure and comment. Thanks!
Hi brendon really enjoyed that show when I was in Florida 3 years ago I went in a store just like that one called rock &roll heaven I am a cd man 🤘👍
I have an original Master of Puppets album, on vinyl. I have gotten a lot of their albums on CD, but I do have original pressings of several of their early albums on vinyl. That was the album that got me started with them.
And thanks very much to Anthony, for running such a great record store. We have nothing like that where I live except for Sunrise Records, which is in a mall a short drive away, but they are the only ones. There is really no where else to go to buy physical product in my area. You are more or less forced to go online.
Great video Brendon. I really enjoy the sound exchange video's with Antony.
He’s a character!
Great topic and great interview! Really like seeing input from indie shop owners :)
Anthony was a great guest and a lot of fun to discuss this topic with.
Great interview, Brendon! Very informative!
Thank you! It was fun being able to help shine a light on record store issues.
Well done discussion, really getting into the pricing and supply issues. My thoughts: inflation is definitely a factor in pricing; Anthony made a great point about pricing cds/lps knowing your buyers; there are several new record plants opening up in the US (which should help with pricing). On the other side we have to acknowledge that the stores have faced rising costs (rents, labor) so they have not had an easy time. I don't mind paying the store's price (and not always focusing on getting the best price) when I'm dealing with a good store and also when I'm adding what I would consider a "staple" to my library (it will be with me a long term and I'll get a lot of enjoyment from it).
Excellent discussion and sound exchange looks like an amazing store to browse in.
I buy most of my cds in the 3 limited stores in Dublin Ireland.
Personally and I’m not saying my view is right or wrong , but I don’t really care for first press cds etc. I buy for the music and the rest is irrelevant to me. I appreciate that others are also into the collecting aspect as well.
I totally hear you. I’m only in it for the music. What edition doesn’t matter to me. But as a collector if I find out I have a rare first edition, it does make me happier.
That viewpoint is definitely not wrong. Listen to and enjoy the music. Thats what its all about.
Great video and best to Anthony . What a great guy!
He’s one of a kind!
Thank you!
@@anthonycoviello5166 As a former store owner and manager in England I've been so impressed with your store and the way you run it. You have the passion !
Thanks for replying Anthony it means a lot!
Always support the local store. F Amazon
I would if I had one anywhere near me. I buy a lot of physical media (every week), so I have to get it from Amazon or eBay. That’s just how it is. When I see a shop when I’m in another town, I do often give them business. Hard to find shops though.
I’ve got no issues with Amazon and in lots of cases Amazon is the only way I can get something. But given the option of ordering or buying at my local record store, I’d rather shop in person. I like the experience of it.
a great interview
i wish there was a record store near me… sadly i don’t know of any within 150 miles in any direction
Sorry to hear that! Unfortunately good record stores are becoming harder and harder to find. It’s one of the reasons I love Sound Exchange so much.
Thanks again Brenden!!
Very insightful interview
You’re welcome Brian! I’m glad you found it insightful.
Great video! Hope to see you do more like this.
That’s my plan!
This was a great video discussion. Enjoyed it. It is so interesting to note how vinyl releases today cost so much money, and that people are going to vinyl for the "analog" experience. Most don't know that a lot of these new vinyl releases are sourced from digital sources, so technically you are not getting an "analog" experience like you would get with original pressings. I know this because I do copy editing for a couple reissue labels who release both CD and vinyl. Plus, you can often hear the flaws of these digital transfers: the recent CSNY deluxe box set of "Deja Vu," which includes a vinyl copy along with the CDs, has a glaring glitch in one of the songs written by Neil Young on the vinyl version. I will remain a primarily CD collector. Can't wait to visit this store!
They do now, sweetie thanks to Mike Esposito of the Ingroove and I am quoting his own quote, "Pissed in the cheerios."
Great new video hope you and the owner can do more like this tell him thank you
I hope so as well! I’ll start thinking of a follow-up topic. And I’ll let him know how much you enjoyed it.
You are welcome! Thank you for watching!
Been buying music all my life but definitely have a bias toward CDs. In Western Australia where I live, there are hardly any record stores selling CDs anymore - maybe a handful if that many and can be pricey for secondhand. We have only one big retailer left (JB HI FI) and their CD collection is getting smaller and smaller. BUT my go to has been thift/ op shops where myself and a lot of other locals here can't believe what we can find. You have to dig through the crap but some incredible finds for $1 and $2. Also job lots on Facebook marketplace. Again I don't mind this and either repackage and sell off the ones I don't want in a cheap bundle or op shop. I used to pay $10 to $30 for new CDs so buying a box for $50 and finding 10 good ones is fine by me. Secondhand vinyl is ridiculous in many cases - where I live at least. Another great video - how do you do so many!!
Thanks for making this topic so real. The rise of cost is really getting out of hand. Smaller stores are limited in what we actually get. Also an issue I have seen is we would order something but the distributor only send out 1 or 2 when we ordered 5 or 6
Yeah that can make it even hard as the stores are losing out on business because they aren’t getting enough copies and are turning away customers.
Thank you for sharing x
It’s my pleasure!
Excellent job, thank you
Thanks, it’s my pleasure.
Great discussion and fantastic video
Thank you!
I really enjoyed this video Brendon. Personally I sometimes pay a higher price at my local store than Amazon is doing but I want my local store to keep surviving.
Great info and insight.
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Great video
Thank you Neil!
@@BrendonSnyder have ever listened to a English punk band called killing joke . I think you might like them.
I was wondering about that Jethro Tull CD, I finally got it, but it took me months to get a CD copy and had no interest in getting a vinyl version of this release

@@BrendonSnyder 😎
We still have to support our record stores. I personally want to get my ass out there and support them and buy what album or CD I want. I just moved to Williamsburg Brooklyn from Bay Ridge and I have to find a record shop that I can go to every time there. Or two or three.
My experience with music buying yes i do use amazon because i do not live anywhere near a record store but i'm aware that amazon can be expensive. When i last went to the city near me i went to the national chain i bought 3 cds for 11 pounds or less and on Amazon they were 14 pounds or more. Also i have recently bought several new albums on vinyl because there was only a couple of pounds more than on CD.i have the original Master Of Puppets on music for nations CD.Also i have the doulbe vinyl 45 rpm vinyl also on music for nations.Keep up the good work.
My experience has mostly been Amazon is less. But that’s because they can undercut the market because of their size. That said there is nothing wrong with wanting to get the most from your money. I shop both Amazon and my local record stores.
Very informative
It was eye opening for me too!
Very cool and informative. Much appreciated!
It’s my pleasure Mike! I’m glad you found it interesting.
@@BrendonSnyder just curious, how is the build out for the cd racks moving along? Have you been in contact with any contractors yet? Can’t wait to see the process begin. Good luck!
I have signed with a contractor and paid the deposit this weekend so they should start production soon. Estimated to have the house renovation done in the next 2 to 3 months.
@@BrendonSnyder That’s awesome! Can’t wait to see the process.
Great discussion. It used to be a new release record was a standard price. You knew how much it was going to cost you. These days there is so much variation and no one seems to know why. I understand we don't want to blame the bands but the reality is bands like Tool and Slipknot know their fans will pay almost anything for new product and so it is priced more than the average release.
They can't press enough either jacking the price further.
Good show. I would have loved to have been there with you. This is why, even though don't purchase much compared to you, I NEVER get rid of anything any more. Streaming and bit torrenting do not not have sound quality vs WAV.
If I order something I will buy it no matter what. Even when I order from somewhere else, I've done it several times. I won't shaft anybody
Tell him an old guy out in Montana who loves his store.
I had a store in the 90's and I remember there was a fair pricing "law" in the industry that was you could not sell a cd (physical copy) below a certain percent of the cost, to keep it fair on all record stores (including best buy and circuit city.). When that expired that's when best buy and circuit city and the like started to sell under the price I could buy the cd's at from my distributer.
I owned a used CD store (also sold Top 20 new) thru the 90's and did pretty well for myself for about 10 years until Best Buy came to town and undercut my and every other independent CD store's prices on their entire inventory of CD's. Took about a years time, and I was finished. Nothing I could do.
@@melprophet1936 You had to specialize perhaps in a used area. Would distributors cut you off if they new you were selling any used product (perhaps not the in print titles)?
Sound Exchange weathered the storm of those lower prices at Best Buy, etc. And we cheered each time one of those stores went out of business or stopped selling CDs. Art at the Sound Exchange survived and thrived. Definitely a dinosaur now after 40 plus years and doing great with Anthony at the helm.
@@DorianPaige00 I had one distributor, CEMA, cut me off when they found out I was selling used CD's. And that happened on behalf of Garth Brooks of all people, who was very involved at the time (1990-1991) as sort of an anti-CD activist.
I was a tiny shop in suburban NY, so I have no idea why they even looked because I quite literally stocked about 3-4 of each of the Top 20 releases and the rest of the store was entirely used CD's. No other distributor cared that I know if. CEMA eventually let me carry Garth Brooks CD's if memory serves in 1993 or 1994 not coincidentally when his sales and popularity started to dip.
@@melprophet1936 I didn't know Garth was anti-cd; I know Garth was anti-download. You could actually get select country albums through BMG/Columbia house into the 90's.
Very cool discussion! Why are oop cds not regularaly available? I heard if a back catalogue cd can't sell 10,000 copies, it goes out of print!
I miss have a cd store in Cape Girardeau & Jackson, Missouri where I live at. We are getting a cd/record store soon that's part of a new Bar.
Could be cool! I hope it works and you’ve got a new spot to go.
Was that Master of Puppets a different glass master? There were a few different plants that handled additional demand in the cd format's infancy.
Whats the code for the original Master of Puppets first press cd? how can you tell if its a first press? thanks!
On the Tool subject, I was worried my shop wouldn't be able to get the box again and people would be asking for it this Christmas season. Knowing how terrible it has been getting vinyl back in stock once it sells out, I ordered 40 copies for my shop. I am lucky to have sold 20, yet Istill have 20 left that I was counting on being holiday sales months down the road. The announcement of a smaller 3LP edition totally screws the fans who spent 3 times the price and the stores that took a chance on getting these in stock in order to keep their customers (and Tool fans) happy. Their management had to know these cheaper versions were in the pipeline, and yet they chose NOT to tell us about it, and I can understand if it was next year, but just a few months later is like lying by omission. I totally agree with Anthony...a total slap in the face of fans and shops alike with thousands of dollars of investment and indie shops losing money across the board.
17:23 - I paid $179.99 from Experience Vinyl to get it when it came out. they backordered me so I ordered it for $169.98 for the Tool 5 LP set from Amazon because it was supposedly a limited edition... then Experience Vinyl FINALLY shipped mine and I couldn't cancel the order and it cost too much to ship back to return so now I have 2 copies I paid $350 plus tax for ...meanwhile it's since gone down to as low as $100 and right now is $118.99 on amazon. hopefully it goes out of print and I can resell one and get some of my money back, but since then they've released a 3 LP version... mind you this is the same album I bought 2 copies of CD because they had tow different versions
Oh man that’s nuts! And I know what you mean about the cost of shipping! I’ve been stuck with a few things as it’s not cost effective to return. Tool certainly has been smart about how they have stretched the physical product release for their new album making the most off it. I guess it’s helpful when several of your members were trained in media/marketing.
@@BrendonSnyder but of course, Murphy's law... if I had waited to have it drop to $100 and bought it then, it would have sold out and I'd have to pay $1,000 to get it from Discogs or Ebay
record store day needs to put out more cd’s
I couldn’t agree more!! They used to do more and during the last RSD they did 4 or 5 which was a lot as normally they don’t do any. I’m hoping it’s a trend and more CDs will be getting released.
Does this store have an online presence? I will support them if I can.
Often you can beat or match Amz at your local record store or maybe it is a buck or two over. So always good to check there first.
I'm a vinyl & cd collector but like for example alice cooper brutal planet that just came out again from 2000 cd 11.99 record 40$ plus!!!! Ill take that cd all day long !!
Me being an avid metal head hard rock etc. This video was very eye opening brendon you helped shine a light on cds vinyl and record stores. I'm over 700 hundred cds in my collection and always buy at least 10 a month or more from record stores mckays eBay and Amazon. I do think older cds still in factory sealed are really pricey especially at fye at the mall in my area and I'm glad I got to see why in some aspects. But I do think today's youth want everything in there hand it started with illegally downloads then Napster and now places like Spotify who only pay the artist a couple pennies for everytime the song is listened to. I think things like this has ruined the cd and in some cases vinyl. Cd will always be my choice but they are hard to find in my area unless I drive 25 miles plus in any direction to buy in person so ebay and Amazon come in handy. I've always considered I help the artist or band by buying a physical copy. Wish I was in jersey though I would be at that store daily for sure thank you guys.
All true, but regarding streaming it’s even worse than you think. It takes 7 streams to equal one penny. So they are only making a fraction of a cent and not even one penny. Payout for streaming on any platform is awful. But at the same time it does bring the artist money without having to do anything. So it does have its benefits like also bringing awareness to a band and helping kids discover them. But physical media makes them so much more when sold.
@@BrendonSnyder We need Tower Records back in all malls. When I lived in San Jose, CA, my friends and I would trip to San Francisco to hit Tower Records. Those were the days, the late 60s and early 70s when music was everything. Luckily there were a good number of stores in San Jose I could shop at. But it when I was in the military, stationed in Japan in the mid 80, when CDs became a thing and HiFi equipment was relatively inexpensive (no custom charges). I hope that these younger kids help revive the LP and CD situation. Plus, the price per LP and CD has to drop as their cost is prohibitive for those just squeaking by.
The problem I have with the record store I deal with is my pre orders are never ready on the release date. Either a few weeks late or even months. I finally gave up and use Spotify now. I do miss physical but it is a heck of a lot cheaper.
Amazon will deliver on release day for most of their new releases. It’s only if they don’t get it in that it arrives a few days later. For me I get most on Fridays with a small amount not arriving until Tuesday. So if you can’t go to your local store to pick it up on release day, Amazon is a good alternative.
I'm curious as to what cd version the masters of puppets is going for over $100?
brendon, where do you find those artist sales numbers by cd, vinyl, etc?
I've just checked my copies of the first three Metallica albums on 💿 are all 1989 pressings. My Justice is a 1988 💿 pressing. It just doesn't feel the same as original vinyl pressing!
Just support your lomalla rebord stores as long as you can.And if you want something real bad, just buy it.I have paid lot of money for example 75 $ for examle Iron Maiden's bootleg cd of x factor tour, because i am a die Hard Maiden fan and i wanna have a live audio or pic format from every possible tour.
Brendon you are an amazing person and i still Vantaa not imagine tuhat you have more than 11.000 CDS. I HAVE AROUND 1500 RECORDS.
TUOMO FROM FINLANDIA.
Very interesting. I'm actually surprised that the price for new CDs hasn't really gone up in 30 years. The limited pressing of new releases (hello Frontiers) sure is annoying. It's like every album is a limited edition nowadays, and the truly limited ones are super deluxe sets.
CDs are no longer cool, people like vinyl instead. But let's hope for a comeback.
That’s true Daniel, I find myself having to buy an album the day it’s released because in only a couple months time it more than likely will go out of print. Labels may be doing this to try and increase interest and raise demand. But I think it just hurts the artist from getting their music out to the fans. No everyone is a diehard music fan like me needing to buy an album on release day.
@@dansavik7137 Best thing about that is definitely the price of used CDs, though. So I'm happy being uncool!
@@BrendonSnyder Yes, I think that really hurts the artist. There are several recent albums that I want but cannot find. I get that you can "just listen online," but, to me it seems like it's preventing the artist from gaining new fans.
So is art, previous owner retired? And can I buy a red cloth logo bag 🎒 if I come by. I usually visit monthly on Sundays

Art retired and we have the bags!
@@anthonycoviello5166 thanks will be by on Sunday August 7, after my monthly visit to diner and pal toy show. Thanks 😊
I would almost never buy physical music off of something like Amazon. Call me old but to me that’s just something you go to your local record store to get as part of the experience.
Thank you for speaking out about this! As someone who is under 19 years old, there is NO WAY i am paying for cd, vinyls, or cassette tapes for more than 20-30 $. (I collect all three) Maximum is $30 nothing more. I started collecting not cause it was popular but because i loved listening to music. Also its an awesome hobby. It just sucks that everything goes up in price. I never buy new, everything I have is USED. I also buy from ebay if i cant find something under budget in store. No way i am paying over $100 for a piece of plastic.😂 Thats nuts!
I totally hear you. But sometimes that is the only way to get the music and when it’s your favorite band, some are willing to pay more to get it. I’ve done it on occasion but it is rare.
Stop by the Sound z Exchange if you're in the area!
I've bought a ton of CD's online (ebay, Amazon and record store). I don't like to buy over priced CD's, my limit is uo to 20 euros but I did buy th latest Kiss CD's for 30 euros. The thing that bothers me is the price on the shipping which some times is more than the CD. There is a certain record store in Finland that I by from now, mostly used CDs at a good price with a shipping fee of 5 euros wheather I buy 1 or 2o
I hear you. I've bought 176 cds this year alone. 33 of them are 2022 releases so far (and more to come,) which costed me 28.00 bucks a cd. Crazy prices on eBay with the outrageous shipping prices too.
I rather buy my music from my local record store and happy to pay sometimes a little bit more to support my local music store.
Anthony... you're in my chair.
Haha…😂😂😂! He told me it belonged to you which is why I wasn’t in it!
Sorry Bob!
i always wondered how bands actually make money from a record/cd transaction
The other issue that really makes me mad is how you buy a new CD to support the artist and then, 6 months later, they release it again with several more tracks as a deluxe edition! Now you expect me to buy it again? Or how Imagine Dragons just released their new album as a 2 CD set when so many people already bought the 1st part of that set 9 months ago. They expect everyone to have to purchase the 1st CD again because the new CD didn't get a separate release!? What a load of crap!
Hey.,...MJFox
Awesome!
I am trying to buy less from Amazon. I find our Target store sells new releases on CD and record. I also buy from independent record stores who ship. I just received too many CDS not packaged well and jewel cases are broken from Amazon.
It sucks that stores like Anthony's gets shafted, like with the Tool vinyl box. It's crazy. I'd much rather buy stuff from my local store than order it from Amazon etc!
I think most people would rather support their local record stores given the opportunity. It’s a double edge sword. As a fan and buying so much I need to find the best deal, but I also want to help keep local stores in business.
What will really be the kicker is if there are defects!
The cost of rising prices? I’m not sure what that means. There’s something very redundant about that. The cause of rising prices? The price if rising costs? 🤔
It’s not redundant, it’s a play on words. I’m using the word “cost” to mean two different things; i.e. cost as value and cost as loss.
I disagree,
I was 16 when this came out and of course it was the flavor of the month for a year plus.
Slayer-Reign in Blood was there too,Megadeth-Peace Sells also.
So much!!!! cae out in 1986.
And most of us specially the East side of Canada where its considered the Metal Capital.
We all have a copy!
And no,it don't sell for 100$.
There is always a collector or a fish out there ready to spend but this can take years!.At the end of the day its plastic and paper
And most only need the image of it for the memories it bring on top of the music.
It's like sport cards,
what Beckett says,,,you'll never get.
True it’s all in the eye of the beholder, but we aren’t talking about all of the original 1986 issues CDS. This one comes from a particular pressing plant making it more valuable than others and it is valued at over $100. But I agree it’s ridiculous, however there is always some who wants that rarity.
There should not be an album that costs over twelve bucks brand new. CD or vinyl or whatever format. That's why people turn to streaming or UA-cam. I absolutely hate streaming music services so the majority of the time I buy used CD's. Ninety nine percent of the time they sound like they are brand new!
Right! The industry is forcing physical media into a niche market instead of it being for the masses. They’re shootout themselves in the foot once again.
