- Kyle Bushman has an uncanny affinity for airplanes. Take a look at the two of his most recent and remarkable restorations including a high-end Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser and the Frankenstein re-engineering of a 1958 Cessna 175 Skylark.

Am I the only person who thinks the Cessna is more beautiful?
I don't think it is "beautiful", but I like it for its strength.
I think it’s beautiful!
Thanks
Has there ever been a retractable gear bush plane? it should be possible to deflate those tires and reinflate them for landing.
Should be possible to make a high performance stol plane.
too much liability on an inflation, deflation system, plus the added weight and power draw would negate the benefits
@@wolfgagger absolutely not. Pump system can be quite small and light and those lumps in the air generate outrageous drag. But the simplest solution might be moderate tire size and fold into the body as is. Deflating wont necessarily make them much smaller and might be difficult to control.
@@DanFrederiksen how much experience do you have working with aircraft retraction systems
@@wolfgagger about the same amount as being president of the united states but I can still do better than Trump.
STOL is great but I can't fly at a 90 mph cruise. My RV cruises 190mph and still can land and TO in 600 feet or less.
gmcjetpilot I have an rv6. But can’t land at my house. Needs hangar. Too nice to sit outside for extended time. 125 mph cruise with 175. Good for my mission. Not everyone’s.
@@jeffwhiteley3625 That is cool Jeff. Why so slow? Throttled back to save fuel? See link below. RV-6A with 150 HP engine at 55% power is 167. No gear leg and wheel pant fairings? My RV-7 top speed is 210 MPH (180 HP). Build that hanger!

I rarely travel in my plane. I like to fly low and slow, and see what's on the ground.
@@jlshoem I owned a J3 loved it. RV can go low and slow too (55 mph stall)... just have option to also go fast..... ; - )
@@gmcjetpilot That's very cool! Mine is a Citabria.
PA14? Do you have STC and FAA form 337's. I bet it is not legal strictly speaking. C175? Oh expermental exibation... OK. Can only fly to/fm exhibitions not Gen Aviation, legally.
Wrong. I have made the airworthiness public. It’s not limited.
@@jeffwhiteley3625 For making it Experimental, do you have some limitations on where you can fly? Just curious because I read online somewhere that there are some limitations that you have to follow.
