Ah extend edit to playhead? To configure it, you need to go to Edit-Preferences (if you're on PC) or Premiere Pro - Preferences (if you're on Mac) and then in the shortcuts you can find the function you want to create a shortcut for and input your desired key combinations. I think!
Thank you for this. The creator should just add this time stamp to be more efficient for someone who is working in a project and just wants to quickly do something. I understand the context though, it may be necessary for some.
David I’m missing your photography tips. I remember till now when u said to set the focus button apart from the shutter. And now it’s the only way I can use my camera. :)
Yep. It's a channel that caters to everyone from beginners to proficient users. You might be fine jumping straight to the meat of the pie, but others might need to understand the menu a little first. :-)
I have made an animated count down timer but because I have so many different times needed its taking up a lot of time. in the effects panel save preset is grey so I cant click ??
Great video... I just started to make some Rocksmith gameplay video, and I add some feathering effect to the guitar footage... It will be useful to make it as a preset...
You can save multiple effects by selecting all the effects you want to save and then choosing "save as preset". Just select all the attributes you want. You can even include blending modes, opacity, position etc. Anything in the effects control panel. I go over this near the end of the video.
@@dodmedia First, I have no idea how you got offended. Also, your title is how to save effect presets not how to create an effect and save it as a preset. While it does make it useful for people to familiarize themselves with the situation of needing to save a preset of an effect they created, the video is way too long for a correct right click position. If Google search brought me here, it will probably bring others here, I would bet that most of those are people that are stuck on their premiere project because they don't know where to go to save presets of their effects. As a tutorial it has absolutely nothing wrong and the quality is pro, but it isn't a quick go-to video, of which title made me think it was.
I wasn't offended Alex, I was suggesting that if you want a 2 second answer, a video is never going to be the way to do it. The reason being these will always have an introduction from the creator, followed by some context setting in case the viewer is less experienced than you seem to be with Premiere Pro, and then finally you'll get to the problem solving. I can suggest the Adobe message boards for quick answers like you wanted since they're people asking a question followed by an immediate answer from another user or an Adobe expert. I'm glad you enjoyed the quality of the video despite it being longer than you'd wanted, and it's awesome that a Google search led you here it shows its doing well in terms of SEO.
This is great, but would be about twice as fast if you just never touched the Effect Controls panel. Instead use the pen tool and work entirely in the timeline (Ctrl + click to create a new keyframe, and drag it to the correct volume in the same click)
Sure but the purpose of the tutorial is to teach about effects presets not the fastest way to mix audio. So showing the effects controls panel is somewhat important
@@dodmedia everything you're doing in the Effect Controls panel can be done in the timeline. Whether it's volume changing (like you're doing here) or any other keyframeable effect, you can create and adjust all keyframeable in the timeline by expanding the track and right clicking the FX icon in the top left corner of any clip. Then do all that keyframe work with the 'P' pen tool)
I think you're missing the point of this tutorial. I have another which shows exactly what you're describing. Keyframing effects isn't the same as showing how to make a preset. This tutorial is really aimed at beginners getting to know the software. If you're keyframing on the timeline I'd assume you are well aware of how to make a preset.
Watch my other tutorial on master text styles 😜 I talk about changing position of the text in that since it's not something carries through the Master Style. So by changing text justification, then changing the items position, you can control the text justification, style, and alignment with two steps
How do a save effects that are connected to a Certain clip? Like I have a video clip that is an asset to all videos I do but I wand the effects to also be editable without them being two different things. Like I can load this clip in every project and the effects still be attached.
Hmm I think the easiest way to do this would be to make a project that contains only that clip on a timeline with the effect applied. Then when you're wanting to use it as an asset, just import that sequence from that project into your current project. It'll import the clip as well as the sequence with the clip and the effect. Then you can either just add the sequence to your timeline or you can copy paste the clip into your timeline so the effect controls are editable directly. Best way I can think of doing it!
Alternatively you could make that clip into a motion graphics template with the parts of the effects you want to edit as controls on the motion graphics template. It might be a little slower to play back but it'll achieve the same result and you wouldn't have to import a project each time.
Buddy, I am compelled to pause my viewing and suggest that you cut to the chase in your tutorials -- people are generally working on projects and just want to get to it.
What regular process have you turned into a preset??
Your videos always have something valuable to give us. Simple but powerful tools.
Many thanks!
I have Premiere PRO CS6. Why I can`t use the shortcut *Shift+Q* in this verison. How can I configure it?
Hi Carl, I'm not entirely sure what Shift+Q is meant to do? It's not one I've ever used.

4:38 is the start of "how to save a premiere pro preset or multiple presets."
And everything before is context for those who aren't as familiar with premiere pro or editing in general 👍
Thank you for this.
The creator should just add this time stamp to be more efficient for someone who is working in a project and just wants to quickly do something. I understand the context though, it may be necessary for some.
7:07 to save multiple presets, just as a reference for more experienced users ;)
life saver
Thanks 💪
*saving presets is the ultimate life saver! great video, thanks* :)
This helped me a lot now I can save time
Thanks DOD!
Man I saw for the first time a video of you and it was so helpful. And I know this will help me to speed up my process in my next videos.
David I’m missing your photography tips. I remember till now when u said to set the focus button apart from the shutter. And now it’s the only way I can use my camera. :)
Oh damn, that was a while back! :-) Ok noted, I'll make some more photography tips videos!
10 minute video and the actual meat of the pie is less than 3 minutes :-)

@@dodmedia yup
I'm so into any workflow enhancements, amazing for those low budget jobs.
Insanely helpful, thanks so much friend!
great help thanks 😎
Very welcome!
Awesome video quality and great content!
Thanks bro

Thx
thank you.
Great tutorial. This help me with my project.
I'm glad! 😊
Thank you so much!
First ..and that was really useful.
Wow! That was the fastest first yet! What would you like from my store? :-) sellfy.com/dodmedia
Name it, it's yours.
Zoom/Cut transition looks dope.
In that case, check out the Christmas Giveaway video, you'll get it there... with sound effects too!

thks, help me a lot!
Is there a way to save multiple effects to one preset or do we have to save each effect seperately?

I just wanted to see where the save preset was not watch 5 mins to figure out where to right click...
Probably smarter not to look for the answer in a video then. A quick Google search could have shown you that
@@dodmedia Well, Google search brought me here...
I guess you need to refine your searching methods.

do how to align all text in a timeline in a quicker way?

Found this misleading, Immediately disliked. This is premiere pro not audition. People are expecting video.
You could have pressed mute, then it would just be video. 🙄
