This was the only scene in the entire movie that felt like actual Jem. Between the costume (that gives off Glitter and Gold vibes) the wig and make-up, along with the song, I wish the whole movie was this vibe (while you know, actually doing the story of the show)
That scene backstage in her dressing-room when Jem swiped all of the make-up off the dresser, broke the mirror and was lying on the sofa crying hit me hard. It was in that moment that she knew she had slipped up choosing to go solo. But that's the thing about fame when it goes to your head. It's like drugs and alcohol. You don't realize what it's done to you 'til after the fact.

It was planned, with the rivalry between the Holograms and the Misfits beginning in earnest as implied in the mid-credit scene with EricA Raymond and the Misfits. However, the movie's budget was only $5 million, and it didn't even earn half of that back. Also, critics and die-hard fans of the Jem TV series alike HATED it! This made a sequel completely impractical.

If they had just removed the title and the characters names there's absolutely nothing tying to the 80's show. This could've been a film on it's own right instead of using Jem and The Hologram name

Hopefully the next Jem reboot will be a fusion of the original Jem cartoon, the IDW Jem comics, and this film.
