- Learn how to share your Office 365 Home subscription plan with up to 5 other people. Office 365 includes such popular programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, 1 TB OneDrive storage per user, and 60 minutes per month Skype calling. If you share with 6 people total, the price per month works out to around $1.40, which is pretty tremendous value.
To share your subscription with others, you'll need to log in to account.microsoft.com with your Microsoft account. Once you sign in, click on "Services & subscriptions", then click on "Sharing", then click on "Start sharing". You can then either "Invite via email" or Invite via a link" to share your subscription with others.

One thing you forget to tell people is the recipient has to setup a Microsoft account as well for it to work. then what to do once they have the link or Invite??

Can the people you share with see what the last word document you worked on or have access to any of your files using the apps?
For a family of 4, one has a MAC and 2 of us share a computer. I assume the 2 people using a 'shared' machine each still has 1TB, when they login separately? And the MAC user can enjoy all the features?
Kevin, I have a computer with multiple accounts, .e.g. my personal one, one for my photos and another for my online tutoring. Each account has their own files/folders. Can I use the Office 365 family subscription on a single device with each login account connected to a different Microsoft account? And hence each login from my device gets 1TB of storage?

Hi Kevin, I am having a problem finding out how to move my elderly father from his personal 365 account to my family account. I send him the email and he follows the directions but for some reason it always says that can not be done until his subscription expires (today) and it still won't work. My wife shared her account with me. I got the email, clicked the link and it asked me to log in. What do I use for login? So far it’s just treating like a customer who needs to buy it.
If you do not have an Microsoft Account you will need to created one to use the Service.
So after sharing, is it going to be a separated account or all account are using in the same function ? I mean storage, folder, or document in one account? Everyone can access each other?

Love your videos! I actually have Office 2007 and it is virtually all I need. I am looking to get a newer version of Office such as the 2019 or 2021 version so that I can use it ti practice the various newer features. I got the free version of Microsoft 365 but it does not have the higher end features such as Mail Merge that I need to practice. I was thinking about buying a copy of 2019 to use but it is missing Outlook, Notes and other things. Additionally, it seems I can only load it onto 1 machine. I will be the only one using it, but I have a home machine and one I bring out. Help me navigate and figure out which version of office on a budget that I can get to practice and learn the newer features and install on at least two PCs.

Question my brother did the share for me, it works fine online, but when I save a downloaded version of the doc, it can't open on my local laptop to work offline on the doc it ask for a oem type of thing any help on this. Or is the family only online...thanks
I have the personal subscription for a year. On my phone it works perfectly and on my Mac and iPad i cant edit and it keeps saying i don’t have any subscription.

My iPad and my Mac have the same Apple ID and my phone has different Apple ID,
I cant seem to figure out what the problem is and if having two different apple id really matters when using a Microsoft account.

I am in the process of changing one of my pc and my sister is getting rid of one of her pc -hdd problems. how can I effective change out the PC and not over use my 5 lic? thinking out loud - "unload ofc 365 on my old pc, load ofc 365 onto my new pc, give my sister my old pc (w/o ofc 365), one of her pc has a bad hdd and cannot unload ofc365. how can I get to share my ofc 365 license on my old pc? loss here - help??

create a folder in your one drive and share it only with specific mail address of one drive user. with whome you want to share. if you don't have office 365 family.
Can we see data or folders to whoever we are sharing our subscription to? Or its privacy.

Hi Kevin, I bought this program for my Laptop but do not know how to also use it on my desktop PC; because in my opinion, one possible reason may be that I have a different outlook email address on my laptop to that on my desktop PC; would this affect my including my two outlook addresses please, eg as 2 of my 6 memberships? There's some grace period once you're kicked off. I'm not sure of the specifics but your data isn't immediately deleted.

you can install in as many computers and login with the same id, however, only one computer can be used per user-id at a time. With a family of account of 6, you can install in all 18 computers with 6*3 ids but at any point of time, only 6 can be online.

Once I share Office 365 with a family member. What steps does that family member need to do to install and begin using the shared account? Does the family member need an MS account of their own?
I have the same question and I think the answer is YES, they will need a Microsoft account of their own but I'm not 100% sure.

You need to install using your login for the first time, after that you can logout and she will use it, bit lousy but that is how it works now, i guess intention is limit this to a household.

Is it safe to purchase office 365 on Etsy and what is the best way to organize/set up on my laptop that I now have my original Microsoft login for 365/Email plus and original username/password that set up when I originally bought the laptop? First and foremost I was concerned about buying office365 from third party seller like on Etsy but for the saving, I did. So now when I am logging in my laptop setting seemed confused during login, am I limited to only login and work on 1 product at a time? ie. woking on excel and wanting to check my 365 email it won't log me in with my auto saved username/password. I just want to know that my computer is safe at this point and what are way to organize all this difference logins. Thanks in advance!

What happens to any documents/files you created in Office 365 if you terminate your subscription? Do you still have access to those documents? Or do you have to download those documents and store them on your hard drive before cancelling your Office 365 subscription?
You get free space on OneDrive and that free space remains whether or not you have a subscription. If you're using more than the free amount, it locks so you can't add more content until you get it below the free threshold.

As long as you use one account then it uses 4 of the 5 allotted installs for one user. You could install them using 4 different accounts as well, using up 4 of the 6 total accounts. In other words if they are all for yourself with one unified account then you do not need the family plan to do this, the single user will be sufficient. He mentions that one account gets 5 installs, and since there are 6 accounts per family plan allowed, this leads to up to 30 different allowable installs.
