Mattel has always been multiculti since the 80's with Christie, PJ, Teresa, Kira, Whitney, Midge and so on, but in the past quality and care for details was so way better ❤ then the cheap stuff of today! Missing so much those old good days!
20 dollars? Try 40 to 70 bucks on Amazon. I’m still waiting for the John face mold Ken. It’s taken a month and a half and I preordered. These dolls really are in high demand.
I also ordered my John doll on Amazon for the $20 preorder on May 30th... they're probably waiting to see who gives up so they wont have to cancel any orders themselves.. just my thought.

I'm not sure about curvy but would love to see a "big and tall" (I guess that would be the equivalent?) but they oddly seem to keep making the "impossibly skinny" Ken and I have to keep using the clothes on the tall Barbie instead of a MTM Ken doll. At least the MTM Ken is bigger...but most of the fashionista Ken pants and Ken fashion packs don't fit so I have to keep looking for the jogger pants or shorts packs for them (am I the only one with this issue...maybe I'm not looking in the right places for the clothing lol).

Notice the stark lack of diversity of their management and their employees. The color scale represented is light cream color skin to lighter.
I'm really impressed by this doll line. And I love the articulation. I was starting to not like the barbie line since they took away the bend and snap knee's. But this line just made me very very happy. And I'm really happy with the new kens. Because I need more guy dolls
Their next step along the track of planned improvements in the doll lines for Mattel will likely be either better camouflage on the 22+ joints; or variable expressions on the dolls' faces.
When I first saw these dolls, I was super excited (well I still am). I love how nice they are made especially their face sculpts. Mattel definitely got my attention for sure with these dolls. I hope they make more! 🤩

I had preordered two. Those came in and I got a good look at them. By then everything had sold out and I lucked into the full set on an auction site. I paid more than I would have, but I have zero regrets. I have never been more in love with a Barbie line.
I want them all,especially the female dolls. They are so beautiful. I would like duplicates of 1,2,6 so that I could customize them a bit. I love the $ ,the look, the stand,and they are made to move too, everything about them is great. Mattel did a great job on this line of dolls.

My preorder of Jon keeps getting pushed back (grr) and still waiting on the August shipment from Mattel for the rest. The only one I didn't preorder is Elle (I have zero luck with incorporating the curvy girls into my collection, have tried several times and its like Odd Thomas and the sweater vest) but seeing Elle's face up close I'm having serious regrets. She has to be the prettiest face Mattel has come out with...those lips are to die for. Going to keep an eye out for her to go on preorder again or to finally be on sale somewhere. I love these dolls! I have them posed together with all the BMR1959 dolls (which I re-dressed in b&w)... they look fabulous together! Can't wait to see what comes in the next wave 😍

Normally young kids tend to be too rough on collector dolls (I'm particularly thinking of those delicate ankle joints when changing shoes *winces*); but in this case, the doll resembles her; plus I think kids get a lot more out of their doll playing sessions when the dolls are better able to imitate their creative imaginations. :)
I'm finally starting my doll collection and I want all of these dolls. they are so expensive now I wish I would gotten them when they were in stores but I was so afraid of what ppl would think me as an adult doll collector 2023 is all about making myself happy 😊

Well done Mattel you are listening and reasonably priced. But it would be nice for white dolls to have a range of hair colours. We never see medium blonde hair or light brown hair. Hopefully we see it in the next lot of dolls 😊

Don’t buy them at $40.00 those are from scalpers. Just check back with the Barbie website. They are very popular-they will be coming out with more.

Anything higher than retail price is scalper price. Just keep holding out and you’ll find them, don’t give in to the resellers.

I was able to get the petite and curvy dolls, and am really happy with the quality - especially for the price point - and the simple clothing pieces.
