I think it is worth mentioning in the comments that these aren't new products. The BYD brand has has their batteries in Australia for over 10 years with my first experience with their home batteries around 2013. They have service staff across the country and have a very good legacy battery program too where customers are able to expand their battery system even years after the product was discontinued
BYD still makes hybrids, not just Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV). I think there was a little bit of confusion as China uses the term ‘New Energy Vehicles’. Hybrids and BEVs are covered by this.
These are LFP batteries. So far far safer then Lithium Ion batteries. Regarding the discharge to not go and discharge them completely, again a non issue as any of the modern Inverters can be programmed to only discharge to a given percentage left in the batteries. I have a Hybrid system with 40KWh LFP batteries from a different manufacturer and I sleep well at night, not worrying about what would happen in the extreme case of thermal run away. If I would start from scratch today, then BYD home battery system would certainly be very high on my selection list.

There are very few items left which are still ICE and will stay this way for the foreseeable future. Not everything can be replaced with electrical items. We are still hooked up to the Grid for the time being as the large upgraded system has only been installed for about 4 months, but most of the solar equipment has been already in use for 10 years and has simply just been up-scaled 5 fold. After winter, we will decide if we stay connected to the Grid or disconnect. Due to the extremely low export margin of 2.3KW imposed on us, we are still left with a connection bill of around $160,- a quarter. Winter will decide if we keep paying for the convenience of having that 3rd backup, sort of an "extra" insurance. So far we have travelled 5600km+ in the EV at a total cost of AUS $13.55 and that was only because we wanted to try out a fast charger..not that we needed it. No actual electricity cost at all and we don't try to be "frugal" in usage. the only concession we make once in a while is turning the Hot Water system OFF for one day if the weather has been really miserable, as the system holds the water hot for at least 24 hours. Airconditions are on 24/7.
They even assembled ur iphones, ipad & android phones like Xiaomi, Huawei. They even make intercity trains, solar panels 😂😂😂. They even have their own lithium mines and mining them.
@@LouDeVere👈LOL! CLASSIC Wumao argument. The videos of all the BYD fires have been leaked by Chinese citizens who have had enough. Your attempts to suggest otherwise are both comical AND futile. The truth is out, we know. 😂

We did not get charged for the video of our stand (a different video), these were recorded as news pieces, not everything is a conspiracy. there is so much to learn from all the major players, this video is doing us a service.
The big problem is BYD is sinking in sales and the equity value of their company has lost millions. So who knows what will happen a few years from now. What about availability of parts? If rhey go belly up or bamkrupt, we could all be stuck with a bunch of non functioning EVs ready for the salvage yards.
So would you consider BYD as your home battery?
Absolutely yes
Maybe
Never.
Not even if one was given to me for free. Only a fool would jeopardize his family’s safety for a cheap junk battery.

We did our best with so many exhibitors and so little time! We have more coming in the pipeline.
Love BYD.
They do make pretty good Batteries and now Cars.
It’s a no brainer in OZ , the SUN is free for all 😊😊😊

Makes sense.. We believe Hybrid fills the gaps where EV can't.

Can someone give review about the latest BYD LV5.0 5kwh?
I don't mind their cars. Home Battery looks promising
I just dislike their branding across the car. BYD is just ok.
No mention of the output of these batteries, or price.
Thank you for the feedback, we'll definately ask for future reference.
Check out MC Electrical. THey have a really good breakdown on the BYD range with ballpark figures for supply and install
I'm holding out for either this or a similar product by CATL.
What about FranklinWH?
WHAT IS THE DIFFRENCE BETWEEN HVS OR A LVS?
HVS (and HVM) is high voltage architecture for HV inverters such as Fronius Gen 24 models. LVS is Low (48v) typically used for Off Grid use.
How much do they cost????
They can range anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 but if you use solar efficiently and own an EV the payback on them can be very quick.

Why not trust BYD's industry leading technology?
Why does he resemble Elon musk?
Battery prices come down when the battery leaders in industry gets more customers for their products.
Yeah but when? You can’t keep me hanging now!
When? Don't want you to keep hanging..
BYD make plenty of Hybrids but also over 50% pure EVs.
China is best at imitating things, they have made their own Elon Musk now 😂
We love ELON MA!
And they want you to force and keep you buying fiat, peugot and volkswagen crap
Electric vehicles are the future!
Is cheaper, not is realaible 😂, ok enough for me buy one & pun in my RV
It's it me or the BYD guy look like a Chinese version of Elon Musk?
GOLD!
batterij.s wil become 50% better pro year so dont buy and wait a few years and use vicil to load and so on..
