Dude has always seemed like the crazy guy across the street screaming about the apocalypse but the more I start to understand what he says, the more I understand how much on another level he is
Hughes has been teaching guys to get better for decades. He just knows his stuff. And, the results bear that out. He's almost like a Moto Savant. He sounds like a lunatic because he's so passionate about it that he just can't stop talking. But if you really listen and apply what he's saying, it works. 100%.
Just curious, what do you consider the qualities that attract you to becoming a fan of a rider? Like for me, it comes down to raw grit and determination like RC...great skill, but even tougher in drive.
Reminds me of a good friends dad who brought us up surfing, he would straight forward off for hours tipping back fosters telling us how to surf better and improve our style instead of just trying to go harder/bigger... when we listened we started ripping wayyy harder.
what Ryan Hughes is saying goes for quad racers also . it helped improve my lap times and im on the podium more . this guy is amazing at what he does . i wish i could have private lessons with him
I’ve always loved and respected Ryno. Straight shooter, disciplined laser FOCUSED. My only regret is that I never got to go to one of his schools/classes. I have Parkinson’s now but I still love this sport.
Awe man!! Imagining the professor with ryno at a class!! I owe Bailey alot for keeping me safe for 15+ years while all my buddies got mangled. Ryno still keeps me sharp!
Love it when guys think this deep about bikes. And even car racing.. It’s almost a spiritual connection with the bike. And if you can ‘feel’ it like he says, it does make you stand out that tiny bit more than someone with the same skills.
Ryno was way ahead of the curve on technique. I remember him breaking down rider technique back in 2011 and how RV unlocked his hips and how his potential for speed was the best in the field
Well. At a much higher level of skill and technique there are very small things you can do to make big gains. For average joes like us. It doesn't make a difference. For a professional. Having a few centimeters of extra movement in their upper body results in serious gains. Ryan was riding in a time where the vast majority of guys used neckbraces and the technique wasnt at the level it is currently (not to say there was no technique. They were crazy technical, just that the game has elevated again as it always does with time).
My leatt always made my neck and shoulders feel off. And not being able to look as far forward as i could while standing was definitely an issue. Id rather not have them.
Im not saying Ryan is at fault. But, Tomac is one of the most inconsistent pro riders. Tomac has won all of the titles he's gonna win. He will have zero until retirement.
Really appreciate this type of content, alot of moto stuff I've found hasn't been this in depth. Would love to learn more about the technical side of the sport
Wow great job on the studio I thought he was out here until I listen to the pod cast got me confused on how he get out here to oz you got me and was wondering why you said the lag got you as it looked like he was in the same room well done guys and this man knows his shit his got some get videos on technical stuff with your body and bike going to finish listening to the podcast now just thought I’ll give you the thumbs up
The neck-brace point he brings up is interesting. Because, barcia has started riding better with out one, but Villopoto always had one and still rode fine, so it's interesting to see that point.
Slowing down to get better. It works! I’ve been riding a 125 for the last year and I’m sooo much better than I was before. Cant wait to get back on a 250 and put it to work 🤙🏻
@@jif4639 It was a move I decided to do that helped greatly. I’m faster after riding a 125 for a year and focus on technique than I was trying to wrestle a 450 and this video applied to that. That’s all I’m saying :)
Wow I wish we had utube in the 80s I attended David Thorpe training school in 84 amazing day, but imagine working with Ryan explaining technic to help us understand his technic, 😊
Ryno sounds like madman but most madmen know their shit despite what we all think. Plus he was fast. Right? There's a reason he's so passionate when he speaks. #truth
@@jbrunner122 Ryan didn't start racing until he was 14yrs old. He came out of nowhere and jumped in the pro class. And what happened this evening....that shitty technique just beat Cooper straight up....bwahaahah......sure technique gets you halfway but HEART trumps all!!!
Ryno is a legend. Marvin is an awesome rider and I dont believe technique is his issue in the whoops. Maybe the mental scars of what happened to his brother makes him not commit 100% in the whoops. The guy is a 2 time World Champion and won in America. Wish my technique was as bad as his!
What happened to his brother? I would love to see Marv get a championship in the States, not sure how long he has left on his factory KTM contract, I'm not sure they'd sign him up again unless he starts regularly performing like he did in the 2nd heat race on Tuesday.
I used to love 4 wheel racing, but the difficulty in 2 wheel racing is so much more athletic and like art. You have to use and set up the body as much as the bike. Much more rewarding when you get it right.

It's frustrating sometimes, because seat time does matter and I just don't get enough of it to shake my stupid problems that I know I could shake if I just got to ride consistently! My bike has 9hrs since July 😭 Keep up the good work!
I hear yah RYNO, but RV2 wore the neck brace and he is a fucking legend. He did have that separation you speak of though he let that bike work and he was super loose on his machine.
