    Do you feel you could watch a 3 month old and work as a UM nurse from home at the same time?

    • @NurseAileenD
      @NurseAileenD  2 роки тому

      Hi👋 Good question but as for me I can't, just for my own peace of mind. I want to be able to focus on my work specially if I need to talk to insurance companies though not very often, I would easily get distracted. And I want my child be taken cared of properly as well (my daughter had been in daycare since 3mo old) When I got the job good thing my daughter started school already so I am able to drop her off before I clock in and pick her up after I'm done. But if she's not at the school age I won't be able to do so or even apply for this job since I won't be able to attend my job and my child at the same time, not that I'm not a multi tasker but it all depends on the person too I think. Now that she's more able to understand and if she don't have school and I have to work I can just tell her to be quiet compared to if she's still a baby lol. That was just me. Hope that helps.🙂

    Hi Nurse Aileen, question po. Sabi mo ung work mo no direct patient care. Anong difference po sa mga reqs and salary compared to CM with direct pt care? Kelangan po bang may hosp experience ka to be a UM? Thank you

    • @NurseAileenD
      @NurseAileenD  2 роки тому +1

      I believe aside of course sa BSN, 1-3yrs of related job experience sometimes they go up to 5yrs. CM and UM are interrelated so di rin nagkakalayo sa requirements. As for me I think my advantage was I already know the system we're using, I've been there for 7 yrs and they prioritized internal applicants first. They'll train you naman in everything. I was mainly trained remotely due to the Pandemic and I never knew what Interqual is before and that's the main system we use for chart review. Salary wise we are salaried so we get paid the same no matter if you get done early or late so that means no OT pay for us and that's one of the disadvantages😅 I think CM gets paid more because on what their job entails. We're not allowed to talk about our salary even my closest friends at work😅 It might spark some issues kasi then somebody will complain why hers is higher stuff like that.😅 I think they're averaging $95k yearly..

      Hi! I have LDRP caseload right now and I cover our merto hospital branch so I go up to 50-60max mom/baby actives. But for medical caseload I manage between 15-20max active cases before aside from inactives/discharged. Mom/baby is easier to review for me compared to medical cases, there's just more of them but it's more manageable.😊
