Dude, you are a life saver….I’ve been looking for this solution for a while now, I am so thankful to you and all the tips you give us to make fishing more enjoyable but overall, more effective. Keep up the good work my friend! Thanks a bunch…
A friend sent me this. Been doing this forever. Do all your spinnerbaits at home. I use a #10-#15 braid. A better way to secure and less sloppy, is to squeeze the narrow bend of the line tie until it touches the bottom wire. I use round point needlenose pliers so not to mar the line tie loop. With the braid go around it twice, then wrap 3-4 times around the top "R" wire using a clinch knot. Trim close, then use CA (super glue) to seal knot and attach tag end to top wire. Nice and neat and makes a bead (bearing) stop. I use accent colors of braid to match spinnerbait pattern.
thanks for the tip. The O rings only work a few casts for me and then they pop off and ride up and down my line. I will definitely try this in a few days.
Good idea. I have been using tiny "O" rings from the hardware store. They keep any grass or debris from getting stuck as well. I run a 5 lb steel leader in areas of toothy critters like Pike and Musky when fishing bass and the O ring keeps the leader from sliding out of position . Works great!
Mike Iaconelli Bass Fishing I just landed my PB last weekend. It was on a jerkbait though. Another go to lure this time of the year in the NE. I know you know all about jerkbaits. RAPALA!🤣 Love your vids and tips on fishing.
Great mod. Never thought of that and out on the water, it's always an available option. I usually use clear plastic tubing but when fishing smallies in Canada sometimes the muskie and pike will tear the tubing (and the spinnerbait) up. I think braid will add strength and save a few baits.

I always stripped a twist-tie, but this is a great alternative! Thanks Mike!

Sounds like an awesome way to rig them Frank!
Great idea with braid! I tried this but I used safety wire instead and it works great!!
Smart thinking!
That was Sic. Does this also do same thing as splitring trick, where splitring keeps bait from getting tweaked after fish catches ?
Thank u Soo much bro love your tips man thanx
Probably the best fishing hack I've ever seen. Thank you Ike for the tip! You keep them coming I'll keep catching up on them
Genius! Definitely going to go out to the garage and rig up my spinner baits for no more slipping. Thanks for the tip!
No problem brother!
Good tip Ike. I love using spinner baits this time of the year so I'll definitely give it a try.
Spinnerbaits are always a hot bait this time of year! Hope one gets your a PB!

Thanks for watching man!
Ike rocking the spinnerworm!
Awesome tips Mike! 👍👍👊
Thanks for watching John!
Nice trick Mike, I will be trying that. Thanks!
Let me know how it works for you Chris!
Thank you!!!🏆🎣
Does that affect the vibration of the bait?
Thank you Mike.
I do the same thing! I just had to watch to make sure!
Same, but with light mono
@@americanstriper8666 I actually use bait string. Stretchy enough to keep still.
@@rafaelmercado307 cool idea! Whatever works. I seen another guy use a split ring but i think that is too bulky.
Great tip Mike!
Thanks Victor!
I use a piece of shrink tube. The only problem is sometimes the main line goes between the hook and blades on a cast and gets fouled.
you can also use small o rings.
An elastic around the end works too
Great tip
i use a carefully applied solder dot
Good thinking!
Read your book. Awesome story.
That's a good simple trick.
As simple as it gets!
I must be tying this wrong.
Every time it comes off when I hang it vertical in a spinner bait box.
I use heat shrink tubing and it never comes off.
Good idea!
I just use the little "hair braid" rubber bands I get from Dollar Tree, Like 500 per pack, and use those =)
thank sir nice trick!!!
A rubber band will work too maybe mike ??
try a rubber o ring just as good and a lot faster
That has been mentioned a couple times by others as well.
Press a small split ring over it
Thanksgiving for the tip
Beast!
Tight Lines!
Small dental rubber bands or orthodontic ligatures work great...your kid gets straight teeth and you catch more fish!
Been doing this for decades. Thanks anyways. Get tip
well don't you feel special coming on here just to say thanks anyways.
CHRIS S knowing ike uses the same techniques I do feel kinda special
good tip really Mike Hell you're almost as good as that Bass College guy Steve?? ROTFL
It's simple... Tie a better knot... Never had them slip
fsocietyblackhat c dp
