You made me smile. The reason der Sprung is not an exception to my rule is because it is a monosyllable and as such does not have any noun ending. :-)

Vielleicht verkaufen Sie zu viel. Deutsche Grammatik ist nicht sehr schwierig zu verstanden. Es dauert vielleicht ein Woche, um es besser zu verstanden. Ich denke auch, dass der Kontext wichtig ist. Schließlich sind meiner Meinung nach Wörter die wichtigsten.
Ob deutsche Grammatik schwierig zu verstehen ist, kommt darauf an, wen man fragt! Es gibt über tausend Substantive, die mit -ung enden und deshalb immer feminin sind ... Ich finde diese Info doch sehr wertvoll.
Exactly what some Germans would say but the reality is much different. For native English speakers who only have to deal with one article 'the' who then when learning German face learning der, die, das, dem, den, des in 16 declension patterns and how the prepositions, adjectives and other determiners are affected in a sentence by these 16 declension patterns not to mention how all of this must be sorted through 4 cases: Nominative, Accusative, Dative and Genitive AND that is only some of the basics. Nein, ich denke, Sie unterschätzen stark, wie schwierig die deutsche Grammatik für einen englischen Muttersprachler ist.
"Zu verstanden": Da muß ich lachen. Das ist schwäbisch. Haben Sie schwäbisch gelernt?
Was ist denn Ihre Muttersprache wenn Sie die deutsche Grammatik so gut verstanden ? ;-)
