this video is much needed. I believe RJTV was the only video that really explained the basics of the ring system. this video does both, basic and advanced..thx alot for ur help and explanation. Awesome video
Not putting down rj but I've always considered Tommy GOLF CLASH TOMMY FOR A REASON 🕳 #1STUNNA 😂 He's better and I feel explains the game in better detail and can play the holes while explaining without making mistakes lol
Tommy I’ve been using this ring system for a long time now thanks to you. I wanted to add something to this video I’ve never seen mentioned yet. It’s basically counting rings in reverse when in between clubs or maxed out on driver in a head wind. If you adjust for wind first then adjust spin on ball you will know where the ball will land, then drag ball position to maxed out again before shot.
tommy when you go to the wind chart creator and put all the clubs you want in there, before you press create chart, go to variant right under the mode selection and change from wind per ring to Rings per wind. much easier
Thank you for the info, I have played against others who I have seen that move the screen sideways and then adjust the target and I was thinking, what it's going on? Thank you again now I know what they are doing 👍🏼👏🏼
I'm lost as lost can be. For your first example, you adjusted for the wind with 1.7 rings of movement. Then before you took your shot, you moved the target back to center?
Thanks so much for all your help and support brother , it's starting to sink in , though whilst I'm trying to figure out where to place the order shot correctly , I dunno it must be my ADHD , but I get th rings sweet as but I usually crack from concentrating so much an then hit a "good" or "great" shot and end up stuffing up anyways... I laugh and cry at how u make it look soooooo easy . You're bloody awesome 🤘
I like the ring thing, but my phone sucks and I don't have time for the finite adjustments. Lucky for me I was good at math so I can adjust based on this video and the golfclashnotebook tips. 5 Aces and 5 Albatrosses after 2 weeks of playing.
This is a helpful video - as all yours are. But what you mentioned regarding downhill vs uphill adjustment is backwards. For example if regular adjustment is 2mph wind per ring, it would be 1.8mph wind per ring if the landing spot is down hill 10%. This would result in MORE ring adjustments needed because the wind has a greater effect. So what you said in terms of greater effect is correct, but the adjustment is in the other direction for the wind per ring.
Do you have different bags for tour play and tournaments as i know some players gave lots of bags i.e common set of clubs, rare clubs, and epic clubs plus a couple of mixed bags or im i overthinking things. Im asking this because i want to improve my game in time . Please answer as i need all the help i just watched your video of top ten mistakes I'm guilty of at least galf of them plus i cant get my head round 3 things the main one been checkpoint challenge, elevation and slider are the main things i xant seem to grasp. Thank you for every video its a great help to me . Thank you golf clash Tommy.
Having different bags help as a time saver for sure. It's not meant to be one with common, one with epics etc. You need to sort your bags with clubs that you will use together with eachother.
Henry Hall hi Henry yes it will take time but as you say you will eventually get it. Just keep doing it and in the end it will become second nature to you. If you have any questions or need advice send us a message to our team page :)
From watching this video, I've determined that clubs with a higher number per ring would be better (need less adjustment) than those with lower numbers per ring. Is this correct? It seems counter intuitive. For example, the Sniper is 1 per ring and the Goliath is 2 per ring. If the wind is 10, I could easily adjust the Goliath out to the 5th ring, for the Sniper, I would need to double the max target distance?
Tommy can you please explain how to do ring adjustment more than 5 rings. Walk us through the whole process where you count out 1,2,3,4,5 and 6..... great video. Us new players might understand rings up to 5 rings but not more than 5...... thanks again
Hey Tommy! Thanks for posting this. This has helped me out tremendously. I think im addicted now...lol. Just started playing last month and exited for the upcoming major.
You have helped me a lot Tommy, and I thank you very much for that. But I have one request that may seem unrelated. I don't have the best hearing and I struggle to understand your instructions. No matter what I do on my end to improve the quality for my poor ears I honestly can't understand half of what you say. I would love to hear it all, and I am not asking for caption lol. But your acoustics and mic, along with background noise have a lot of echo and background noise, humming and other noises. This makes it very difficult for someone with my ears to hear no matter what I try on my end. So is it possible for you to improve your sound via better Mic. Like using an actual headset that reduces background and echo? I see you use AirPods a lot, they just honestly don't cut it for people like myself. Another one of my family members who play tried upon my advice to watch your stuff, she gave up because her hearing, like my own, is not so great. She told me "It's too hard to understand, I gave up trying". I appreciate all you do and your knowledge Tommy, I just wish I could hear more of it.
badass98kx250 hi badass every club has a ball guides which shows the direction the ball is going to go. Some clubs have more ball guide than other clubs for the clubs with not at lot of ball guide you have to envisage what going to happen to the ball you gain that through experience also trial and error :)
My question is why do you have to always point the arrow north? For instance, if I have an 3.5 mile eastern wind, I have to turn the compass north? Then I have to remember now that it is north I need to adjust for an eastern wind? I am lost.
To adjust for the wind you need to aim (x) amount of distance in the exact opposite direction of the wind arrow. By turning the arrow north it simplifies judging what the exact opposite direction will always be (south or downwards on the phone screen)
Very nice Tommy, I have a much better understanding the wind adjustments and have printed out a guide with my clubs and ball power. Looking forward to winning more games. Thank you 😉
I really need help.. I’m having the worst time and on a horrible losing streak. Should I get the app? Is it worth it? I found myself buying better balls for certain courses or to match the ball the person I’m playing is using and or if I’m most likely have players with better clubs.
so lets say for example my value per ring is 2 and i have 6 mph cross wind, so do i move it to the black line or the red line on ring 3? Also as i move the take shot rings over to the spot im supposed to hit, how do i eye it up? in watching you its hard to judge how far to move the rings, like one time you needed to move it 6 over and it looked like you only moved it a few inches on the actual course
Firstly, thank you for taking time to teach! When I use the formula 3-A/50 to calculate the wind/ring, I'm not getting the same results as listed in some of the wind tables that are published out there (Golf Clash Notebook, Golf Clash University Calculator). For example: Hornet 3 has an accuracy of 91, so it's rings per wind should be 0.85 (or wind per ring = 3-91/50=1.18). For a 4 mph wind, that is 3.4 rings of adjustment. However, Golf Clash Notebook and Golf Clash University Calculator report 3.1-3.2. That's not a huge discrepancy, but as the wind increases, so does the discrepancy. For winds of 8-10, the formula predicts about 0.5 rings MORE than the tables. I'm really curious to why this is; do you have any insight?
Because your calculations are incorrect, they play each hole etc to come up with these adjustments and the variables change as the the clubs also, they change over time with updates
In the ensuing months since this post, I've determined the formulas that the wind tables generated from the aforementioned sources and they are different. The above formula is a simple formula that can be used as a guide. I began to develop additional adjustments for elevation, second bounce, and curl, and I was getting very good, until....What I have learned is none of this matters much unless you SPEND MONEY. No matter how "good" you get, you will eventually need to buy "wind and tricks." The higher the tours, the more this matters. Furthermore, the programmers at Playpandemic are clever as they design some the shots, particularly the shootouts, to function "properly" with bought balls, but not so with the standard ball. All in all, this game eventually comes down to spending money...money 💰 money 💰 money 💰. If you are just starting to play and you are not willing to spend hundreds of dollars, you should stop playing, immediately. Otherwise, you'll get all into the game, spend time getting better and maybe a few bucks for some upgraded equipment...and then you'll realize that to play higher tours, compete in tournaments, and keep from constantly thinking the game is rigged, you'll need to spend 💰 🤑 💸 💲 💶 💵 💰. Oh, and in a way, the game is rigged. Anyone that can handle a little math (some algebra), I'll show you how I can make that claim.
Great tutorial and great English. The only thing I can give you back is tell you Determine is pronounced De term in not De term mine. Thanks for the tips.
Cravin Hogan hi craving whether your club has high accuracy or lower accuracy you will still be moving the same amount. All the difference is with a low accuracy club is your rings are bigger but your margin for error is higher with a low accuracy club. For example your sniper is 100 and your big dawg is 15 and you hit a great shot the point where your ball lands is going to be a lot different because of the accuracy difference, I hope you understand what I mean :)
in your elevation explanation, you add 10% from 2.6-->2.8. But then you chose the method adjustment 1.00 per ring (accuracy 100) of a MAX distance = 2.8 rings. But in fact you are on a MIN distance with the SNIPER in your example and should therefore adjust around 2.2 rings (2.8 rings would refer to an adjustment of around 3.6) - is that correct?
Ciao Tommy, thanks for your video and instructions. I have a problem with wind, and it's not about understand the rule, but it's about the system. I'm using an iPhone 6 and most ov the time when I try to drag the bull eye to the take shoot botton, all the screen will mouve, not jus the bull eye. than I loose time to ripositioning and.... too late! have you done some tutorial n orrder to solve this problem? any suggestios? Thanks a lot cheers Marco
Hey Tommy, First: Great job man keep up the good work. More importantly, redo this video and put the numbers for the rings ABOVE the lines for each ring. It’ll make it clearer for everyone who views this video in the future. 👍. Thank u again for the Golden Shot videos and good luck out there!!!
My belief is that you in 9/10 cases dont have to use any type of owerpower. Its all about ball placement. There might be a video of these type of shots in the future.
I can not use the take shot reference button to gauge the wind ring on a tablet because there is to much space between the wind ring and take shot button. Does everyone just play on a android phone? Please answer, thanks! Or do I need to zoom in a lot more? To close in the space?
Wait so the more accurate clubs have to adjust more rings for higher winds? That seems backwards. Ex. Sniper any level in a 4 mile per hour cross wind right would need to be adjusted left to the outside of the 4th ring correct? Same scenario with EM you would only adjust left to the outside of the red ring...so you move it less for a more affected club? That doesn’t make sense to me. Lol. Unless the rings are bigger for those clubs that are less accurate. Is that why the down in one has a tiny target(ring system)?
Hi I'm fairly new to the ring system. But I still don't understand when you go to take your shot. That's where I'm confused. How far down do I go when I'm taking my shot? In other words I don't understand how the ring tells me when I'm going to take my shot. Where exactly do I put the ball in the guide before releasing it? Does that make sense do you understand what I'm saying? Thanks in advance Blondie
Hi Tommy, thanks so much for this video! How does the Take Shot button work if the wind is from the side? Does it work the same way? What about headwind vs. tailwind? The same way, still turning your device so the arrow points north? Thanks for clarifying!
Tommy, singe PD changed the target, again, is this video still valid? With the green bullseye? My game got worse with the new ring, measure. I didn't even qualify for weekend either of my accounts, last week's tournament. So frustrated.
After watching multiple vids from others on you tube, the only way to deal with wind and the bullseye is to get an app? Is it possible to not use an app.
What an absolutely excellent tutorial video my friend. I only learned my rings after my first T10 game 😮 I was aided instantly through GCU. I’ve been playing for almost two years now and if only there was wonderful guidance such as this video back then. RJTV taught me a lot of the basics so i have to give RJ a shout out 💥 i have clash caddie now 🙏🏼 and my game has improved 10 fold.
When you are lining it up with the rings to account for the wind, and then drag it down to the take shot button, it seems you are basically centering the rings over the take shot button at that point which negates the purpose of calculating the number of rings to factor into the wind speed. How is that you can drag it down to the take shot button without affecting the calculations you just made?
You place the crosshair where you initially want the ball to land and leave it there. Then you move the screen NOT the crosshair to calculate your rings, by touching anywhere on the screen but the center(yellow) of the crosshair. Only then will you touch the center of the crosshair to move it to the Take Shot button.
Holy Sharts!!! Good video, well explained. I keep thinking about a fart and a shit at the same time whenever he said "chart".. Sounds like "sharts" .. Thank you for the video.
Hey Tommy, what if my clubs are not at the same levels as yours in the video? How do I adjust based on that? Would love to get a hint on how to adjust for it!
If club accuracy is 100, it’s 1 ring per 1mph wind. If a club is 50 accuracy, it’s double (1 ring per 2mph) so it’s quick arithmetic to work out for each club: 100 / (Club Accuracy #) = mph per ring E.g. 100 / 38 = 2.63mph per ring
Tommy what happens at higher levels when the winds go upto 10 and 12 miles per hour. So if u have a sniper level 10 how do u adjust for a 12 mile per hour wind
Good vid Tommy but can you explain how much you add or take away from the ring values for head winds and tail winds? I always over hit tail winds even if I do 1 whole ring more than I should. Please help...
Tjena Tommy. Just some questions: When you make the adjustments what is the base based on clubs ( like 3,4 mph) for EM and 5,4 for BD. If the wind are 5,4 headwind left did you perform the adjustment in diagonal? Near the hole what adjustment needs to be considered? There is any table where should be possible to see the rings per club? Best regards
Hey Elisabete. You can find the values of the rings on www.golfclashnotebook.io. Before I adjust my rings for the wind, I always line up where I want my ball to bounce combined with adding spin.
@@GolfClashTommy how does diagonal wind affect all of this? it seems (I'm a beginner) that these adjustments are for straight side-to-side, straight tail, or straight head winds. no?
If you watch the video again he always lines up the wind the same direction before he makes the adjustment so it doesn't matter which way the wind is going.
I’ve noticed in some instructional videos sometimes the instructor pull a tab-like chart. Is it from GC or another app? Many thanks in advance, keep up the excellent work!
Nice vid man, just a question though, have you got a beta version of Clash Caddie with the elevation & golf bag options as mine doesn’t have it and there is no update available?
Great tutorial. However, I have another question. Say we have a wind of 10mph and assuming no elevation with a high level Sniper we know that we adjust 10 rings. What if the ball we are using has a 50% wind reduction ......should we then play only 5 rings?
I’m not a slow person & I’m an also instructor, so I get having to explain things to ppl in ways they can understand. That being said, this explanation was hard to follow in every way possible. It was doable also seriously wtf & painful to listen to.
Allow me as the beginner to ask a silly question. Playing with smart phone quite difficult to see the centre of the ring especially when you drag the ring to cater for the wind effect. Is there any other technique. I like your video. Thanks
Great video, one question,I understand max distance is further then minimum distance, ball is affected more by the wind in max distance because your ball will be on the air longer correct? If so why is minimum distance more per ring then max if my ball will be in the air less time? Thanks
More per ring means you will be moving the target less per wind adjustment. A shorter shot will equate to less adjustment as each ring accounts for more wind.
My question is, does the wind affect your chip in shots, in the sand, in the rough or on fringe (fringe easy chip ins) But i would love to know if the wind affects those shots
Yes it does, but it all depends on high up the ball will travel in the air. For an example, sometimes you will be in a bunker were you can see the ball guide line just going over the fairway. That ball will not be affected at all. Doesnt matter if you have 5mph or 15mph. That is why those wedge shots often is play by feeling or reference spots on fairway/green as there is no firm ring value for every typ of shot with a wedge.
@@GolfClashTommy, hi Tommy, great video. Can u explain one more time how to adjust from the fringe? Because, sometimes wind is very strong when u close to hole.
It seems like when dealing with elevation you would have to hit the ball farther up hill and shorter downhill, but when you adjust for elevations it more or less to the side using the rings. So no distance adjustment needed? Can you explain.
Tommy, when you say drag it down to the take shot button, is there a specific area to place the take shot button? I've been placing the corner of the take shot buttom where I want the ball to go. Please advise, thanks.
thanx for the awesome video it good thing for me.....one thing i only want to know is caddie app of android can help to get rings if yes what will be setting for that? thanks in advance.
Thanks for the useful information! What are you using to move your target around? I have a pretty large Galaxy Note 5 and there's not enough room to use my finger without triggering the take shot button.
Thank you!! This totally changed my game. Now take it off so my opponents don't learn this. ;-)

You redue it just the numbers are to your liking 🤦♂️ it's fine
Very nice video, could you also tell us what is underpower and overpower shots and how do we know what is the perfect power behind every shot....
My belief is that you in 9/10 cases dont have to use any type of owerpower. Its all about ball placement. There might be a video of these type of shots in the future.
Great video. You should put a link to the tool you used in the video description.
Where do I go to get the wind and ball adjustment tables you’re using???
Hi I'm fairly new to the ring system. But I still don't understand when you go to take your shot. That's where I'm confused. How far down do I go when I'm taking my shot? In other words I don't understand how the ring tells me when I'm going to take my shot. Where exactly do I put the ball in the guide before releasing it? Does that make sense do you understand what I'm saying? Thanks in advance Blondie
really accurate guide! thank you tommy
Vermiglio Alex your welcome and thank you for the kind words I appreciate them :)
Thank you for great video, but I can’t understand if wind over 5-12?
Very helpful thanks Tom
You’re one hell of a player 👌🏻👌🏻
Thank you soo much @John Doe!! Finally an answer that makes perfect sense to me lol. I had same question as buzzcity01 👌🏼
So you eyeball the placement of the rings after your calculations?
Do you use the grid as the gide to determine the center of the target
Thanks this helped
Holy Sharts!!! Good video, well explained. I keep thinking about a fart and a shit at the same time whenever he said "chart".. Sounds like "sharts" .. Thank you for the video.
Hey Tommy, what if my clubs are not at the same levels as yours in the video? How do I adjust based on that? Would love to get a hint on how to adjust for it!
If club accuracy is 100, it’s 1 ring per 1mph wind. If a club is 50 accuracy, it’s double (1 ring per 2mph) so it’s quick arithmetic to work out for each club:
100 / (Club Accuracy #) = mph per ring
Tony Winch my general rule is add a ring for headwind and subtract a ring for tailwind. It's not perfect but it gets you close.
I do use my ballguide line to counter for the various wind. 1 square per every 5mph. If Im just beeing on a fairway etc, I do add or subtract 1 ring.
@@GolfClashTommy square?
Tjena Tommy. Just some questions: When you make the adjustments what is the base based on clubs ( like 3,4 mph) for EM and 5,4 for BD. If the wind are 5,4 headwind left did you perform the adjustment in diagonal? Near the hole what adjustment needs to be considered? There is any table where should be possible to see the rings per club? Best regards
Hey Elisabete. You can find the values of the rings on www.golfclashnotebook.io. Before I adjust my rings for the wind, I always line up where I want my ball to bounce combined with adding spin.
@@GolfClashTommy how does diagonal wind affect all of this? it seems (I'm a beginner) that these adjustments are for straight side-to-side, straight tail, or straight head winds. no?
I'd like to see the reply to javan miller question Tommy. Thanks
If you watch the video again he always lines up the wind the same direction before he makes the adjustment so it doesn't matter which way the wind is going.
@@Collinlfc10 exactly. That's the secret. 🤫
Would you advise to overdrive your shots or not? My friend does it to get further shots, but I don’t know how the wind will affect the ball?
Every time he says “Jello ring” I laugh and forget everything I heard.
Lol. Love the accent.
yes I have to start over after a good haha .i love this guy!
Thanks Tommy, great learning video! Is there an in-app wind calculator in GC, or an add-on?
I’ve noticed in some instructional videos sometimes the instructor pull a tab-like chart. Is it from GC or another app? Many thanks in advance, keep up the excellent work!
Nice vid man, just a question though, have you got a beta version of Clash Caddie with the elevation & golf bag options as mine doesn’t have it and there is no update available?
JungIizt yes correct. There will be an update for the app most likely on thursday next week :).
What is clash caddie?
Thank you,
I would like to know about the take shot button
Great tutorial. However, I have another question. Say we have a wind of 10mph and assuming no elevation with a high level Sniper we know that we adjust 10 rings. What if the ball we are using has a 50% wind reduction ......should we then play only 5 rings?
When you use a ball that has wind resistance, it is automatically reflected in the wind speed that is displayed on the screen.
@@scottc5171 Cool, thanks for info!
Thankyou so much this is great game i love you
I'm totally lost on this!
Second that !
@@danc7768 third it. lol
I’m not a slow person & I’m an also instructor, so I get having to explain things to ppl in ways they can understand. That being said, this explanation was hard to follow in every way possible. It was doable also seriously wtf & painful to listen to.
Oh my gawd I’m lost where am I
Allow me as the beginner to ask a silly question.
@@jdubs283 Thanks Josh. I had the same question.
What are the numbers on the right side? On wind chart
When you move closer to the hole, does the wind effect on the clubs decrease a bit?
Tommy, when you say drag it down to the take shot button, is there a specific area to place the take shot button? I've been placing the corner of the take shot buttom where I want the ball to go. Please advise, thanks.
Very helpful video, dramatically improved my game. I understand the second column are for rings 6-10. How do you position the bullseye?
Jim Smith count out 5 then count again the extra so for 7 rings do the five and then do the extra 2
Thank you!!
Hi Tommy great vid as always, what clan are you in?
Do you set the rings at the top of the take shot, or at the bottom of screen?
How do you turn screen around? For vertical arrow? Playing on mobile.
Very helpful thank u very much ❤
thanx for the awesome video it good thing for me.....one thing i only want to know is caddie app of android can help to get rings if yes what will be setting for that? thanks in advance.
I dont have any affiliation with the caddie app for Android. Shoot them a message and Im sure they will help out :)
Thanks for the useful information! What are you using to move your target around? I have a pretty large Galaxy Note 5 and there's not enough room to use my finger without triggering the take shot button.
I move mine 2 rings lower and then move
Awesome Tommy 😎 well Donne buddy
Thanks buddy :D
Good stuff Tommy and where do we find/get the wind calculator from? And Thanks 8-)
I’ve never lost since watching this and my nan just fell down the stairs
Tommy. The mid hit should be shorter then the max hit as your ball will not be in the wind as long as a max hit
Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge about this game much appreciated.
David Tupu thanks David I appreciate your kind words :)
Thanks Tommy your the king man
Thanks buddy :D
Great video tommy. Thankyou. 1 question. Where do i find the caddie is it? As in learning the wind values of my clubs to write down
Do you know how to get those golden edges?
