Hey , you can get that oil filter out much quicker and way easier by pulling up the air filter top and hose . You made the job a bit more difficult and slower the way you did it . But just the same , you did get it done . Good effort on the video
Good job. My cartridge broke after pulling out the filter. All is well got a new one and it all went back nicely. Used 1/2 in socket on the drain plug though. Nicely done one handed
It's a lot easier, faster and often less painful to remove whatever is in the way, in this case the air duct, unless you happen to enjoy knucklectomies. My complaint is with the narrow slot they leave to unlatch the hood. I live in a climate with cold winters, and I have to take my glove off to unlatch it. They also never did any tests off pavement. I live on a gravel road out in the country, and the rear hatch accumulates an unbelievable amount of dust inside and around it where it's supposed to be sealed. I take an airhose to it almost daily, because if I don't, and there is any rain, I've had more than 1/2 inch of caked mud around the top of the opening. It also would've been a better idea to mount the back-up camera near the top of the door.
Gearwrench 84603N 15/16" universal socket and a 7" extension. All 1/2" drive. A normal socket and a universal might work but would be less compact.... You don't even need to mess with the air filter housing or duct. Game changer, I tell ya!
Thanks for sharing I just bought a Caravan and couldnt locate the filter cause Im so use to seeing the other kind on most cars. I like where this located on top of the engine less of a hassle for me. Can you also use full synthetic oil?
Wow, looks like it’s never been changed. Is that normal looking? I just bought a 2016 grand caravan, so I’m yet to see the oil filter for myself. Thanks for the great video. 👍🏽
I see you changed filter, and drained old oil, but did not see when did you add new oil? did you forget to add new oil? then the car runs without any new oil?
What's the weather on is my mother bought the car in 2018 is now 2023 and it's actually not been rounded off if you use the right I think 24 mm stubby socket that will fit perfectly on it you will have no problem taking it off yes it is a plastic cap design on an aluminum threaded thing that goes into but if you're fine with it and do it very carefully then you won't damage any threads or strip anything
That true I was also if you do your change yourself and you know this is oil leaking but it's not from your cartridge filter or your oil plug it might be your oil cooler line on top of the it on the bottom of the intake you're the did in my mom's car and it started leaking so if that happens you take it in finish it if it's warranted out it should be able to fix it

Casey, please, is that a 24 mm socket you are using for removing the oil filter cover? Thank you 🙏
Thank you

Removing the plastic engine cover works too

The shallow 24 3/8 millimeter socket would get a job
Probably a good idea to use jack stands on both sides for safety purposes while doing an oil change.

Yes you can
Rough comments good video anyway keep up the good work!
I'm sure it would of been a lot more fun if you would of taken out the air duct from the air filter. I have one the same.
Not bad. How do you like that dodge grand caravan?
It a good van
You said “RAM IT DOWN”!!! Lol
Thanks for the video .

On the fram of ir
@@jammermartinez8768 Thanks
remove the top air filter and a long extension, you made it harder that it actually is
Its easy to this way
What size of socket did you use ?
I used a 24 mm stubby socket
I have this van, over 5 years old now, over 100k miles, how is y'alls plastic cover over that oil filter now? Crappy plastic rounded off. Nightmare.

easier to move the top of the air filter
