I don't care. I may have pain, aches, etc. But damn I had freaking fun😅😅😅
Still having fun. 🤙🏻
Damn right!
So true. I look 10+yrs younger but walk 20+yrs older after sitting still for a 1hr car ride. 😂😂
😂 I want my MTV
🙌🙌🙌
Yes! Headbangers ball on the weekend lol. Our music WAS THEE BEST! 💕
Yes! Bring back the music videos!
Dont forget your bike Sherri....you always need your bike!
Yes my brother and My friends would bike ride everywhere, create things to do, we were masters of our universe!
Dont forget a BB gun and a fishing pole 😂 can't say how many time we ended up catching cooking lunch along a creek somewhere.😅😂
@@markmatt9174 We weren't allowed anything other than water guns. Not allowed to have BB guns.
Or skateboard 🛹 depending on if you were a city kid or lived in the burbs or boonies 😁
@@markmatt9174 True story!
When I was told to go play in street I did but the speed limit was 55 my mom Saw me playing in the middle of the street she yelled at me my response was that I was doing what she said then she proceeded to beat my Ass 😂
What Gen-X did FOR FUN - Faces of Death, BB Gun Wars, Lawn Darts, Mosh pits, playing in the woods, ouija boards, slug bug, roman candle wars. Insults- deep personal insults. We are built different! That is why we age different.
OMG, I forgot about bb gun wars. My younger brother still has a scar on his ass from bb gun wars.
@therealcyberius OH Faces of death! I've seen them all. Not to mention, I could rent them without parental consent! My dad wanted to have "bonding time" with me, so he watched it with me 🤣🤣🤣 Boy, was that some real "bonding time" Don't forget about "what's grosser the gross" and Garbage pail kids 🤣🤣
ive probably fell out more trees than kids now a days have seen
I never fell but I sure did climb the heck out of them. I could climb so high. I could watch fire works from far away good times🌳
Butt whippings was why GenX learned to survive and succeed. Spare the rod spoil the child. Well they never spared the rod, that's for sure.😂 We took care of babies and did daily chores by the time we were 8-10 years old! We would babysit at other people's homes by the age of 12 and that was including diapered babes!! We played outside and never sat inside with technology it didn't exist. Thank God We got to experience our youth sans mobile phones and internet!! We were FREE truly FREE! Einstein mentioned that as technology improved and became more available and popular that it would cause humans to lose contact with each other. HE WAS CORRECT!! We witnessed the television go from black&white to color!!! God bless GEN X!❤❤❤
YESSSS!!
I refuse to tip-toe through life just to safely arrive at death.
❤
First job, first cigarette and learned to shoot a Lee Enfield 303 rifle with the Army Cadets (I lied about my age to get in). All at the age of twelve and thought nothing of it. First motorcycle at 16 (I’m 57 now and still riding.). Spent the best part of a decade in the British Army. Left with PTSD and an alcohol dependency (which I beat 12 years ago!). Seen some of the biggest bands on the planet and partied like I was in Animal House. Married 3 times. Divorced twice. Been halfway round the world. Diagnosed with MS 18 years ago. Recently bought myself a Lightsaber! It’s been one hell of a ride and I’m not about to slow down! We’re the generation that are gonna raise hell in the Old Folks Homes all over the Western World. „Be excellent to each other. And. Party on Dudes!“
Most Excellent Dude!
i'm a '67 and i can totally relate to everything said. i left for 3 days once to stay at a friends house and no one noticed i was gone. the only reason i got yelled at when i got back was because it was trash day and 3 of the cans needed to be taken to the street.
no one taught me anything, i had to go do it on my own and i was happy to do it. i still see things that same way. several of the crybaby youths in the neighborhood come to me to fix/upgrade their computers because all they know how to do is stare blindly at their "smart"phones.
I wouldn't have changed a thing! We've lived it, done it and survived it! I think the reason our generation ages differently is because we saw what old age does to you seeing our parents! And not giving a 💩about some things keeps the stress down! I see us as recycled teenagers were getting older and yeah hurts but WTH were enjoying the ride!
Plus all that tanning and MTV.
Better than mutilation of the bodies like have going on now. 😢 We didn't know tanning and smoking 🚬 cigarettes were going to cause cancer. Smoking 🚬 was in almost every television show and the movies!! It was considered glamorous...😮
Ikr, I tanned so deeply, my genetics were questioned😊😊😂
@@oakmaiden2133 it took time, though, fr ! I used Ban de Soleil, which was orange gel in a tube? I got that St. Tropez tan fo sho cuz I was not showing back up at college looking white.
If the secret to life is a don't gaf attitude, I'm immortal.
If you aren't aching and hurting now, you didn't have enough fun as a kid. 😂❤
Oh so true. Despite my back ache and boob ache from having to run to the toilet so I don't pee me pants and that jazz...I feel like an improved version of my 22 year old self or something. It's why I drive a sports car and wear stilletos, and smoke and cuss a lot. And blast Duran Duran now though and think of "The Reflex" now as "The Reflux" :D Thanks Sherri.
PREACH Sherri ❤😂
I have been there done that and got the T-shirt so much that it takes me hours in the morning to be able to lubricate my joints enough to move properly but oh the memories lol. As I’ve gotten older as each milestone passes people have asked me if it bothers me. I always say no because none did 30, 40 and now at the doorstep of 50 no missed opportunities means age is just a number. Sure there are things I chose to prioritize that made me miss some adventures but I am comfortable with those choices. Getting old sucks though it hurts and is exhausting but I can look back with a smile at all the experiences. For you young folk that’s what’s called wisdom lol.
Amen sister..we look freaking awesome 😊
We did have fun ! We are stronger because of our lives!
Preach it sister!!! So VERY true!!! ALL OF IT!!! AND WOULDN'T trade ANY OF MY CHILDHOOD ❤❤❤
I don't wanna grow up I'm a toys are us kid. VH1 and MTV. Amen.
I contribute my skin aging well from all the hose water I drank as a kid
I crossed a major highway at 7 to walk to school and cooked and babysit. These kids now are so soft and whinny They can’t do anything
Mostly true without question & everything was so different in so many ways when you really think about it!Most of the Millenials especially would go insane in the 60s, 70s & 80s if they taken back then as they are now they'd quickly be BEGGING to come back!😂 The greatest point though is everything was much simpler then but seen as primitive by most younger people!😑😒
My daughter asked me just today if my mom was home for me & I laughed so hard! I told her no I was a latchkey kid & she asked me to explain & I did! I said it was fluffing awesome, my older & younger sisters & I would get home & do whatever we wanted! We beat the poop out of each other and as long as no one had to go to ER, no one cared! We took turns making dinner since we were 7 and as long as it was done when the parents got home at 6 no problem! The one who cooked didn't have to clean up! I miss that careless life!!!!!! No one cared about grades cause we weren't going to college!
Wow I was born in 81 and this is all true for me. I was on my own and babysitting by 8yrs old.
Love your videos they hit home hard but in a good way. We learnt that it's gonna hurt before it heals.
As a boomer I agree with all of this
We made that ass whoopin worth it! And we're are aging with sass and whoop ass. We're apart if a very special club that we didn't sign-up for yet we're doing it with style 😎
Amen to That!!! 😂😂😂
It would take 8 minutes for us to realize that the sun was missing. I would disappear over long 3 day weekends sometimes for 60 of the 72 hours and my parents didn't know. (60 hours straight).
Rock on Slim Sherri !!! ❤❤🎉🎉
I love your channel you speak the truth we were the best generation ❤
We had orange n grapefruit trees to forage in n my bud with his bb gun, dove for lunch. Grilled on a metal milk crate under that grapefruit tree. My dad was effing impressed!
I had 2 jobs at 11
I never give an f.
I hurt, am severely broken but damn!
I had lots of fun
New generations are weak.
Right on point again girl.
Yep!
❤that you said we're the Toys R Us kids. We really are.
I think the "go play in traffic" thing is why I played so much street hockey. That and, you know, only the richies could afford to actually play ice hockey.
Definitely agree...what's keeping us "young?" IDGAF. Never have...and don't plan to start now. In the famous words of Roger Murtaugh..."I'm too old for that shit."
I assume it's the alcohol and weed 😂
Not pre-embalmbed, but nearly...
OMG I say that all the time. Not so much being too old for this shit, but I Don't have Time for that shit! 😂😂😂😂😂
I was born in 1957. All this shit you talk about I was doing in the 60's
Toys R Us 😭
I used to dream of getting locked in there just so I could spend the whole night playing 😂
Kids now have no idea what they're missing. We used to run amok in there 😁 .... ah, good times 😉
So true
I love your videos Sheri you are so funny 😊 and regardless of race creed or color we all grew up the same we did practically raise ourselves me and my friends would ride our bikes for hours and I don't remember if we ever went to the bathroom cause if you came in the house you stayed in the house no running in and out the house you rock slim Sheri a shout out from your black American sister in gen x
You can read minds!
We absolutely grew up fast bc I was ready to be on my own at 12 fr! 😂
I'm with ya, but I'll trade ya the poptarts for twin cannon pringles.
Facts
Brilliant…..😂😂😂😂 love it
Amen! '76
My life moto: I'm a toys R us kid I'm never growing up!!🤘
IDGAF and hose water. Mixed in with dirt. Dirt played a huge part of our lives.
Who wants a good game of Atari
Let's light up & have a good time 💯
Yep that was us lol
We lost a whole generation to stupidity!!!
I'm 60 and still have a I don't give a Fuck attitude 😂😉😎
It has served me well 🤭
No lie there Sister!
I sill carry my pocket knife and I'm now 53.
That's right I refuse to grow up and I don't give a f***! 😊

🇮🇪☘️
we are the generation that had all the bad preservatives in our food. we're preserved from the inside out. 😂
You know ya done f'd up if your parents came looking for you.
Yep! Passing dad in the car as I headed home and hoping the light turned green in time I could speed thru the intersection, make the light at the next one and he don't..... Yeah it didn't work. Surprised he didn't get out and beat my ass at the stop light. Still worth it though! 😂😂😂😂. Rest in Peace Daddy and I know you're still watching over me ❤
Lol 😂
