Jax Teller RC I have maybe 1/4 of my Tamiya collection represented in my videos. I love Tamiya. It's the company that got me into RC in 1985 with the Hornet.
Theibault Thats so cool, I bought a WW2 last year and it's still in the box, was thinking about collecting all the re-releases. I had a kyosho optima in about 84 I think, still have it to this day. I will fix it up soon (0:
Now thats some awesome retro/vintage loose dry dirt Tamiya RC pron right there! ;-) The guitar on that sounded so much like Joe Satriani I had to check your video description. Enjoyable watch as always :-)
Thank you! The guitar is my friend Jack. He's also an RC guy. Check out his RC channel that I linked and his music YT channel which is The Phantoms Guest Guitar Channel and thanks for watching.
Beautiful video. I enjoyed watching. Have yet to run mine, waiting for new axles. Great build and location for a Classic monster truck. Incredible it still has those side mirrors after those jumps :-)
That would be really great! I was thinking the same, but had to skip the Blackfoot. So it would be a great pleasure for me to watch someone else do it :-) Would look insanely awesome! They deserve a video together
What a wicked location! Lovely video matey ;) I bought one of these a few months ago and for the life of me can't get the rear axle and ball joints to marry up. This means the motor and gears freely spin but the wheels don't move. Did you suffer any issues like this with your build?
Jamie Wade These old Tamiya transmissions can be a little tricky to build the first time. From what you are saying, either one of the gears is on wrong or something is not sitting right in there. Take it apart and carefully rebuild paying close attention to the manual.
Cool to see it in action! I looked at a lot of the beetle and blackfoot videos and it seems this chassis would benefit from softer springs all around seems kind of stiff.
+Theibault o just seems like the suspension never compresses maybe because it has short travel.... maybe in super slowmo you can see it! :-) looks fun to drive though! enjoy it Bud.
The Contractor Thanks man! I'm running this stock so no issues with the diff. I do have the MIP diff in my BlackFoot as I've since put a brushless set up in that. The MIP diff is awesome. Thanks for watching and commenting. I truly appreciate it.
Thanks man! In the middle of building my Blackfoot. Love your green scheme, but I'm going box art. Hopefully I'll have a run vid of that in a week or so.
Thanks my friend. I was not going crazy as even though it's a runner, I spent a good deal of time painting the body. It has a couple minor scratches from roll overs, but nothing major lol.
Love every second of this! So many memories brought back and what a sweet RC location, great job!!!
Thanks for the kind words!
Great video!
That terrain looks great and the Hump Back looks right at home there:)
It's a sweet spot for cars like this.
Yeah that's a nice little spot to run. The terrain has a sort of scale look to it. Perfect for easier running on a classic kit.
True Buggy Totally agree.
I always love the videos like this featuring the monster beetle...
Glad you liked it!
Theibault your welcome
Monster Beetle and Wild Willy I can watch run all day. Especially in slow motion.
+True Buggy indeed indeed...
Awesome! Gotta love those Monster Beetles. They just bring back so many memories and look Fantastic
Thanks brother. Just finishing my Blackfoot. ;)
Theibault

Gonna look great together with the MB :-)
+Nordic RC Visions I'm so excited to make a video of them running together.
That would be really great! I was thinking the same, but had to skip the Blackfoot. So it would be a great pleasure for me to watch someone else do it :-) Would look insanely awesome! They deserve a video together

It's fine. The real problem is that the ORV chassis doesn't allow for a long suspension throw. It runs fine and is super fun.
+Theibault o just seems like the suspension never compresses maybe because it has short travel.... maybe in super slowmo you can see it! :-) looks fun to drive though! enjoy it Bud.
Tamiya loves to give you super hard springs. Why... I don't know.... but I suspect it's the same reason they like to give you those plastic bushings.
+True Buggy lol! :-)
Nice run with a classic Tamiya! Cool jump @ 3:09~ good stuff!
Thanks man!
Theibault You bet!
Great location and video for this Tamiya classic..👍. You had many problems with the diff ? Many complain about them.
