- MERMAID SWIMMING WITH GLOWING LANTERNS 🌟 Relaxing Mermaid Video filmed at Night! Mermaid Phantom is a creature of the night. She loves the moon, the stars and the night sky more than anything that can be found in the daytime. In this video, she dives into the water of Lake Michigan for a night swim and discovers the beauty of underwater lanterns. Tonight, Phantom is the Lantern Fish Mermaid (not really, but it sounds cute! Hehehe!) Enjoy the calming magic of this underwater video!
This is an original idea that dad and I came up with a long while ago and we were very excited to put it into action! We hope to film another video like this again before the summer is over, but if not, we'll try it again next summer (I bought more lanterns...). This night was an unforgettable one though, and no second batch of filming will ever be more magical. While swimming, I met a new friend who sat by the rocks to get a picture with me. The next day, I sat by the water (on the rocks) to journal, and that same person managed to find me and swam up to me... the tables turned. It was great! Needless to say, we've stayed in touch since then! 😁

So here's the thing... Phantom is clearly one of the more creepy and mysterious mermaids out there. She's not quite a siren, and she's not quite a sweet mermaid princess. No. She is the "Queen of Darkness," the "Ghost of the Great Lakes." Some would even say she's more of a spirit than an actual mermaid. A benevolent spirit or a malevolent one all depends on the company...
STORYTIME: I was once swimming in my silicone mermaid tail (Sparda) for fun at the beach with my dad when I got a VERY strange request. A woman asked me to swim in her direction to come cheer up her kids/grandkids (I don't remember which). Since I can't see well at all, I followed her voice along the shoreline until I came across a cluster of people. She asked me to swim between them, which I did. Suddenly, the water became very milky colored... I popped up to say hello, and the family group spoke with me for a bit. As it turns out, they were spreading the ashes of a deceased loved one, which I unknowingly swam through.
I still have mixed feelings about that day. Part of me feels honored to have helped carry a soul out to sea. Another part of me feels like the family members who were meant to be surprised may not have been 100% amused. Either way... it happened. I think about that day often, despite it happening years ago.
