B+. He retained the best players from last year's roster, drafted some good ones. I'm concerned about costs, as you know. I am also a little concerned about running it all back as our competition gets stronger; we are champs and clearly had the best season last year, but we weren't invincible.

We could get Paul Reed for a low cost. He could be a backup for Tatum
Saddiq Bey is intriguing and Lonnie Walker would give extra firepower. But wasn't Paul Reed just waived by the Sixers? How about taking a chance at him for the vet min? Cs need a big body to help out off the boards and Reed can not only crash the boards and defend, he can also contribute on offense. If he can be acquired for the vet min, he'd be the better choice.
I agree. Plus he's an ex 76er so he'll want to play well to get back at them.
Agreed on Paul Reed. I like bey too. But in all honesty, i'm going with Robb's report. Boston's going to keep that lost spot open for the rest of the year unless a real difference maker is available (somone who overtakes Pp/Sam in the rotation). Moreover, i think brad would rather avoid the taxes and have the option to duck under the 2nd apron this year (and thus keep the starters together for 1 more year) than sign a guy who will sit at the end of the bench.

Paul Reed is nice. But I Watson, the Rook, has a similar role. I think it'd be best to check the kid first since Reed has no legit edge aside from XP
@@CleanMusicLover229 he also doesnt play defense. Hes a 1 trick pony who doesnt give you anything if hes off (no size, defense, rebounding, screening or playmaking).
Brissett was not dismissed by Canada, he asked to be omitted from their roster

Saddiq Bey: Gets ACL surgery
Bey underwent successful surgery March 27 to repair the torn ACL in his left knee.
Given that recoveries from ACL tears for basketball players can often take between 8-to-12 months, Bey is likely to be sidelined for at least the early part of the 2024-25 season. The knee injury comes at a particularly brutal time for Bey, who was set to become a free agent this summer and will now likely be in store for a much less favorable contract on the open market. Before suffering the season-ending injury, Bey averaged 13.7 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 three-pointers, 1.5 assists and 0.8 steals in 32.7 minutes per game over his 63 appearances for Atlanta.

I'd pass on crowder. Covington's fine. Bey is on my list too if i wanted to fill that last roster spot (i dont. I'd rather the Cs duck under the 2nd apron).
@@TheRobversion1 it would be good to bring him back for a possible defense of the title. Good 3 and d guy but up there on age. Last spot on the team is not too risky imo but, i also listed him as the 3rd option. Bey would be most productive.
@@seancarson3327 doesnt matter to me if crowder is a good 3nd guy (hes not) as he hates boston if thats who you were talking about. Covington's fine even if hes old/recovering from injury. Bey is young but also recovering from injury.
Over crowder, i'd look at hayward or reed instead.

Brad already said he'd keep the last spot free for the buyout market. To say nothing of minimizing tax payments and keeping the option to duck under the 2nd apron alive.
If i were to push for fillimg that last spot, here"s the top 3 i'd pick:
1. Paul Reed
2. Saddiq Bey
3. Gordon Hayward
Brad doesnt need to fill that roster spot on feb 6 because it can be filled at the buyout market. Or most likely he doesnt fill the spot at all.
Baylor should break the rotation in the early part of the season.
We don't need another injury prone guy. I like Paul Reed. He should have been Harris's main backup in Philly, instead of Embiid's.
