    I've been wishing to upgrade my Mtb from a 3 year old firefox to something from trek, giant or scott. I've seen a gazillion video reviwes on the internet regarding the same but hands down, this one is the best. So kudos for that.
    Now if you'll be kind enough to compare in detail trek marlin 6 (47k) vs giant talon 2 (54k) vs scott aspect 930 (65k), all 2021 models. With the primary being trek marlin 6 and how it fares against competition. Thanks 👍

      Excellent suggestion. We can do an on paper comparison of similar priced bikes

      Alright a quick take please ,
      Scott aspect 930 Vs Marlin 7 Vs giant talon 1
      Which one do you think is the best, rides best and feels best. Have to buy one tomorrow 😅

      Marlin 7 hands down. When it comes to the geometry and ride quality. This is the best of the 3. Personally I love the feel of trek and canondale aluminum frames. Components can be upgraded as needed. Frames stay with you forever till the n+1 bike comes along 😆

    The review is very nice and complete. Could you make one for Aspect 920 in the future?

      For 2021 only the Aspect 970, 930 & the 770 have been launched in india. So will have to wait for the 920

      If it was for a urban/trekking bike if have no problem recommending tourney. But on a mountain trail in my opinion it simply does not cut it.

    Second sensible channel i saw after i bought Raleigh terrain 30 24 speed....
    But now looking for upgrade to Scott,,. May be a aspect 930 or a sub cross 30. I want fast & best rolling...

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  8 місяців тому +1

      If you're looking for something fast try a non suspension front fork ala scott metrix / bergamont sweep

    • @Terminator-to3lp
      @Terminator-to3lp 8 місяців тому

      @@GearLama thank you so much 🤗🤗. My retailer recently suggested Bergamont sweep 3/4., REALLY LIKING this bike but seems committed lean forward race geometry.
      ..but i am slightly inclined for Marine Muir Woods as well...
      Would like to go with best components & a versatile cycle... 😊😊
      Regards 💐💐💐💐💐

    The coil fork ads more than 1.5kg to a bike, and the not 1x chainring + shifter + front derailleur ads like 0.5kg, a better seat and pedals can take off like 0.3kg more. I'd say if your aluminium hardtail bike is lighter than 12kg, you've made it in life...

  • @deepaknakra7006
    @deepaknakra7006 3 роки тому

    hi there.
    need technical help... been riding this bike with the boys now for a while.. desperately want to upgrade the chainring size to 46 / 48 / 50 T to be able to up the pace on roads ...
    if not just the chainring .. then can the whole front crank be changed to a bigger size?
    is it advisable?
    if yes .. details please.
    it is a beautiful bike ... the upgrade will make it the perfect bike.

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  3 роки тому

      No MTB gruppo will come with a 50 tooth chainring. You will have to go road. The Sora groupset comes with a. flat bar lever and a 2x and a 3x chainring. So yes its possible, will it affect the chainlink (yes), will it work (yes), shifting may suffer but it will be imperceptible in my opinion

    what is your take on the MTB's of Marin? Bolinas ridge, bobcat trail, pine mountain and team marin. Felt the frames of Marin are solid. Do let me know what you think about their frames ?

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  3 роки тому +3

      Starting from pine mountain. That's a range dedicated to bike packing on rough to really rough grounds. Then on to the bolinas ridge which is their answer to the Scott aspect. Everyday rides. Mild single track and recreational mountain riding. Bobcat trail is for serious single track, descents thrown in. Team marin is a race ready hardtail. Marin frames whether they be cromoly or alloy are well built. They last. Period. Its not difficult making a tough frame. Its difficult making a tough lightweight frame that is also price efficient. MTBs has to balance weight and strength in a price point

      @@GearLama Thanks for your valuable input. Cycling technology has really evolved and present day focus is on providing lightweight and solid frames.

    How would this compare to the Trek Marlin 7 which has a judy coilfork and a 1x deore drivetrain. Could you also make a video like this for the Trek Marlin 7 2022? Thanks a lot.

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  3 роки тому +1

      The marlin 7 is a better buy. And that has nothing to do with the drivetrain. I've found trek aluminium frames to be better than most brands in terms of finish and compliance. As for the 1x drivetrain. Like I mentioned in this video if you're primarily ride on trails great. But if you plan to do everything, like rides on tarmawirh friends etc I find the 1x slightly limiting on the too end. A 32/11 will top out at 35 kmph at a reasonable rpm

    Dude, any chance to install new tire with 29x2.6?? i own the same bike stellar blue color i wanted to change my black tire with skinwall tire

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  3 роки тому

      The rated (official) specs say 29x2.4 buy I've found ten to be conservative. I think another .2 inch should squeeze in there at the cost of mud lockup in very muddy conditions

    Does this bike make sense if you drive daily 12 kilometers on the street and 2 kilometers ofroad ?

    • @GearLama
      @GearLama  Рік тому +1

      It will depend on how offroad-y the offroad bits are but really I think a rigid hybrid will be better suited and cheaper too!

      @@GearLama yes, thank you very much!
      I think that it is also many times more strenuous with the mtb than with a hybrid
