I know the duck scene doesn’t really fit in, but it also shows how unique each scouting trip can be. I always seem to run into or find something completely unexpected.
Amen. Thanks John. Scouting has taken on new meaning for me this year. Since I am not retrieving, checking and restocking batteries in my trail cameras, I have all kinds of time for fishing mid day now. I am really liking it (despite being bummed about not being able to use trail cameras).
That’s a spot that I have dug out and built up for several years now. Most of the time it’s around one to two feet deep. But it’s ice cold water and they can’t help themselves.
Thanks man. It’s shaping up to be another outstanding year. Both for antler growth and overall health of the deer and elk. At least from I have been able to tell so far.
Great question. The fact that it isn’t more clear tells me that this will be next to impossible for Sportsman to know and completely understand/follow the law. Which also means there is basically no way to enforce the law either. The law is written in such a way that makes it easy to justify using cameras if you’re not hunting or if your tag is for a different area. If you’re a bird watcher or nature lover, there is nothing wrong with using them year round (which is also mind numbing). This entire thing was very poorly done. The new rule is stupid and was done based on opinion, not science or facts. There is not one shred of evidence that suggests more deer or bigger deer are killed because of the use of trail cams. I was very fired up about all this when it was in front of the wildlife board. I went in, spoke my mind and showed my disapproval. They didn’t care. It was 100% obvious that their minds had been made up before the public was ever heard on the matter. To be honest, I am beyond disappointed with the board and our system over all. We live in a supposed Democracy. This is absolutely not a democratic system. The wildlife board has final say?!! And so far, their track record shows that they very commonly go with the interests of those they represent (which is NOT the public) with regard to a publicly owned resource?!! Makes zero sense. So… fishing. That’s what I do now. Ha.
@@BMCBryce Reminds me of the RAC meeting I went to where they tried to ban expandable broadheads. The only thing that stopped it was because they are more accurate and make it likely for a more ethical kill.
Some good looking bucks right there with yummy food and a random duck!

Great bucks, a beautiful cuttie, and scenery that is breathtaking. It doesn't get much better than that, brother.

That water hole looked like a badass swimming pad haha hot weather scouting
That’s a really cool little water hole/wallow. I’ve always had good luck with some beautiful animals coming in to cool off and get a drink there.
@@BMCBryce how deep is it?

Great bucks. I'm all for the fishing.
No trail cameras equals more time for fishing in the middle of the day. So far… I have loved that.
@@BMCBryce Is it no trail cameras during any hunt or just if you are hunting?

They were unreal! Absolutely delicious.
Beautiful bucks and country B! The fishing was just icing on the cake! May I ask... is that here in UT?
Thanks man. It was a blast. And yes, all of this was here in Utah.
