Pleasantly surprised at how much better the selfie camera is on the 8 pro compared to previous generations.
yep, and it's even a little cringe when he says about the iphone selfie camera being a little better at night when it's clearly washed and blurry.
@@diariodefotoyesss , i agree with you
@@diariodefoto it's because the noise reduction works better on iphone still and colors remain more flat and that probably looked good on the phone. but you can only see the better pixel results on a bigger screen but you also see alot of Noise in the background.
Selfie camera on pixel still pretty weak
It's because they added auto focus this year.
Google nailed it . Dynamic range king 👑
I don't know which images are you looking at. Lol
@@akodonateakolakas4051 lmao . Same question to you as well

The Pixel 8's shadow details is really impressive. It's gotta to be at least half a stop brighter than iPhone 15. Great job on Google's improvements!
Pixel has color science on point.. the superb white balance.. iphone photos are too warm for my liking. Zoom also much sharper on Pixel, just look at the 5X in night time, Pixel is so sharp. Video looks on par with iphone, though Google should improve on the lens switching. Better colors on the Pixel's video, agree on what MKBHD said. Selfie video also looks more detail and sharper Pixel. Can't wait for the Video Boost & Zoom Enhance feature soon.
Yeah agree about colour science, iphone just too yellow, i dont like the contrast either, over contrasted, pixel just more balanced
for me, watching on an 11'' 2K display shows that the iphone produced a much more sharper image in all lenses
@@amiraniqalrahul5104 Finally
Someone that sees it too.
Aren't there picture profiles you can use on iPhone? I never liked the yellowish tint but now that I'm playing with the idea of getting the 15, I'm trying to figure out if you can switch to cooler picture profiles
@@TheBorislavljevic yeah you can change to a cool colour profile
Pixel is the camera king now
It kinda always was lol :D
Always was
@@wouter.d.h. literally the worst pic taker of all the flagships is samsung ,way oversaturated and flat
@@tareklichtenfeldilk defa bence iphonenin kamerasi daha iyi. Allahsan, cünkü yeni almistim 😂
@@tytystgvsh89w625yeah, I'll turn down software sharpening, saturation, exposure and denoise, that would make it really amazing, with gcam you can do all of that, but it's not worth it for me on a +1k device, hopefully camera assistant can bring more extras
I find the Pixel 8 Pro better in photos 70-75% of the time, especially at night.
But the most surprising thing is that I also find the Pixel 8 Pro better in video 😅
The only thing I liked about the iPhone 15 Pro Max was the smooth transition between the different lenses.
Correct.
agree
Don't you see how stabilization behaves when zoomed in? It's terribly simple, the pixel is disappointing, the photo is great, the video is trash
Those selfie videos...i mean details were better than iPhone... Need to revisit this review on pc
So how did you actually find the Pixel better in video? It's not even a matter of taste.
Wow, pixel knocked it out of the park! Impressive night video, especially with the wide angle.
iPhone pics still cast a slight green tint on photos. iPhone video lens change is way smoother still. Overall both great camera systems, and hard for any phone to claim bragging rights.
I prefer Pixels for the software
I saw the green tint too and couldn't unsee it after that. Ruined the photos for me.
Yeah, iPhones pictures are way too warm / yellow. I don't like that.
Pixel for me , the video looks good
The Pixel looks so much more natural. Especially next to each other. The Iphone looks yellow and green. Even in video the Pixel likes to be better. The video must be hard to see for all photographers who are stuck in the Apple ecosysteem.
Turn of true tone..
Huge improvement with pixel’s night mode. 💕
Maybe on the main sensor for video but everything else is still the king of noise 🥴. Blows my mind how they still can't fix the heavy noise issue that haunts the shadows in night photos and in daylight shots. Things should get better after the December feature release. Regardless, I'll enjoy my P8P.
@@aclaypot3349 I agree, there are still a ton of noise, especially on dark spots. But good improvement overall tho 👌
The pixel still has that micro jitter in videos which samsung finally got rid of with the s23 ultra. I really hoped pixel would do that too as I really wanted to make my shift to the pixel but this alone is a deal breaker sadly. Looking forward to the s24 ultra.
Panning on the pixel video looks awful
Agreed, Pixel video still looks stuttery with ghosting frames. My 6 pro looks terrible in panning videos, makes me nauseous watching it play back. Also noticed when zooming in, the subject will be in the center of my screen but watching the video back, it'll be in the upper right or left corner instead after software has aggressively chopped off the sides in post processing. Looks to still be an issue on the 8 Pro, when he's holding both cameras still but the Pixel appears to be drifting back and forth while the stability software adjusts the edges.
That portrait cutout is still brutal on the Pixel. Personally almost never use it, but yikes. Ultra excited for the P8pro now given this comparison! Hard to argue against the Pixel on the whole
Also the 2x zoom in video they still aren't utilizing the sensor crop yuck.
I think both devices are knocking out some pretty amazing shots/footage and blow for blow are pretty evenly matched. I'm a big Pixel fan and not looking to move away from android but there's some images I prefer on the iPhone and some I still think Pixel is winning. iPhone video still seems smoother/better overall I'd say.
Yes, the king of videography has not changed
I think pixel have the potential to be the best phone, ill give it a few years, if they had better chipset and batterylife.
I don't really like the color science of the iphone video tbh as a casual user I find it pixel to be more eye pleasing and Instagram ready tho

Surprised how similar both are. Both in pics and video. I think we've reached peak phone photo/ video when the 2 strongest competitors perform so well and so close.
They could still use larger sensors on main and ultra wide and then you would see such great results compared to currently
This time google has nailed it! Both the quality of the still photos and videos Look insane! Well-done Google!
The fact that it has big sensors for all the lenses you can see more detals on the 5x on the pixel. Its crazy. Might sell my s23 ultra for one the only downfall is when taking night pics the noise is so noticeable. The only android phones I never had a noise problem with were oneplus 7t and 9pro that i had
They do a fair bit of NR to achieve that.
iPhone and Samsung sometimes keep noise in for more details, though Samsung has a weird mix of applying excessive NR sometimes and then having noise other times.
Every IPhone picture seems to have some yellow tint. Very weird. Pixel honestly destroying the IPhone in this comparison.
Wow Pixel!
Google you've overcome this apple iphone 15 Pro Max'.
Pixel looked better in almost every situation.
Completely false. You need your eyes tested.
8:04 внезапно русские слова, однажды я был влюблюён)))
Whoooooah, low light video on pixel is better, what an actual fudge
Omfg pixels video are better then iphone
I like the more realistic look on the iPhone I hate contrast photos so much and the iPhone does much better at night looking at HDR clarity and time it takes to take a photo also colour accuracy and better focus.
Only difference I could understand was :
Only difference is pixel is on cooler side with better dynamic range and iPhone is at warmer side.
The ultrawide lens is a huge win in lowlight and even the main sensor captures a lot of light as well. Even in video without video boost, Google is right in step with the iPhone and that's saying a lot. Very excited about this. I'm still not sure what happened to their portrait mode since they switched to new sensors on the Pixel 6 but if you stay in 1x it's usually really good. I used to take portraits with the telephoto and add the blue in post on my Pixel 6 Pro. Looks like it's time to come back to Pixel!
When the overall device is as fine performing as it's camera system, then and only then will the Pixel be the alternative it should be to the likes of Apple and Samsung. Reports of battery and thermal problems are starting to inevitably drift in. Google this for yourself. BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR MONEY PEOPLE.
Colours are off on iphone. Everything is green/yellow. Looks bad.
Sadly pixel are more oversharpened, such a shame.
Selfie video looks vierd on pixel.
Pixel and iphone has the worst lens flares I belive wich is not good at all.
I'm waiting for Dxomark results too! Amazing P8p for this price. 999-watch 🤞👍
Russian music plays in the background. About love 😊😒. Thanks for the video, I'm convinced that iPhone takes better video and photos
iPhone still better specially for video and iPhone really improved its processing of photos, pixel selfie camera looks bad, and pixel makes night photos look too bright but other than that pixel has way better AI than any other phone if google and samsung just made a collab with their best Galaxy line and pixel line it would be the best and call it Galaxy pixel ultra 🔥
Wow, the iPhone pics are so yellow! Why so warm? I mean, it’s a lot of yellow all over iPhone pictures. Pixel looks much better in pics.
the pixel camera update is no joke! a truly king
THE PIXEL IS KING OF IMAGING HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE IN 2023. HANDS DOWN THE GOAT!!....PLS I PHONE GO BACK TO THE LAB PLS ❤
Google needs to do work on Human skin tone in their Pixel devices which is fantastic in iphone as always as compared to any other devices. In other scenarios i like pixel 8 pro pictures.
to me the 15 is an overrated device... the pixel is such an underrated android and a capable daily driver with a more affordable price..pixel all day...
Apple no longer video "king"?
In low light the Pixel looked way better. And video boost isn't even out yet.
@@Bibbatrononly the ultrawide. Main camera still looks way better on the iphone
@@thomaskeller2029 Apple looked yellow!!
Pixel 8 pro has a slight edge over iPhone 15 pro max, at least with still photos.
The Pixel 8's stutters when switching lenses is odd... Doesn't happen on my Pixel Fold.
Not really highlighted, but I preferred the audio quality coming from the Pixel 8 Pro over the iPhone
For me, pixel is winning across the board for all 3 lenses
Both decent phone pixel gives Apple a run for is money but the iPhone camera is still the king 👌
Pixel camera is quite impressive ❤
i prefer pixel 8 pro audio, imagine if you are an instagram content creator who need good audio,im gonna go with pixel 8 p
Omg... the pixel 8 pro is better 😮😮. Its crazy... Cool👌😎
I always recommend the pixel to people who don’t want an apple iPhone as that’s the only android phone I would personally use, due to how great it is at taking photos. As for video, the iPhone is still the king. The smoothness, stabilisation, the transition between the lens, and the consistency is so good on the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
I do love the vibrant colours on the pixel however!
Both top class phones.
Photos look better on the iPhone because they have more details.
I think you watched another video😂😂😂
I can see in the video that the iPhone captures more detail in daytime photos, and at night, it becomes more debatable..
That’s what the professional photographers say too. Just shows they know a thing or two than the ‘experts’ commenting here lol
But the only thing it has a weird yellow tint which ruins all of that better dynamic range and details. Other than, the iPhone is king in camera
Pixel tries to bring up the shadows a lot. Sometimes they look good, sometimes it dulls the natural contrast of the image. But overall, photos from Pixels have always looked good. I'm surprised how similar the shots looked for most of the comparison. But when it comes to video, the footage was just a little more stable from the iPhone, lesser lens flare at low light, and more organic from the front facing camera.
Yet again another wonderful camera comparison using pictures and examples that absolutely no one else would use or take. Random buildings and cars driving by the street are the true staple of any UA-camrs camera review. Forget the fact that people use their cameras to actually take pictures of people or children inchallenging situations like low light, being indoors or being in motio because those are the real situations that actually challenge a camera. But they won't show you that because all you'll get is grain and blur from everything besides a pixel. Keep those random building pictures coming, they truly show off a cameras true purpose and ability!
It seems daylight video are more stable on the iphone 15 pro max especially when you change camera zoom ( i received my 8 pro today going to try this ! ) For photos on main camera it seems they are pretty similar
6:39-6:40 "Однажды я был не прав". Забавно, что услышал русскую речь. Отличное сравнение, спасибо большое за проделанную работу! ❤
I would like Nick to say which phone is reproducing colors more closer to natural one or to this what an eye can see, for me the most important is reproduction of colors, on laptop is hard to say and see, different laptops different screens and so on. I would be grateful for this information.
The iPhone seems to have a yellow tint to everything. I don't like it.
They traded blows well, I think the pixel won in more of the duels IMO
Greetings from Ukraine! Pixel did a very good job on the camera, in my opinion the quality is better and more detailed than on the iPhone. But the apple paints everything in one color. Not like a pixel with a walking white balance
Still need improvement on human subjects in pixel mobiles. I am using pixel 7 dynamic range good and every deatails looking pleasent but when comes human subjects over contrast and over sharpening human faces are looking worst. I observed that same thing in pixel 8 pro.
But thank you phandroid for nice comparison I am actually waiting and searching pixel 8 pro camera comparison but I didn't get any from 4th oct you are the first you Tuber I think. One more pixel brings night sight video feature do the video what have pixel 8 pro specs on camera. Thank you
What I can say is that both phones are so similar, The photos do vary a little but really wow, they are both very good, either one of these phones would give you good results. The Video on the pixel 8 pro is as good as the iphone 15 pro max. Both win. But what would decide for me is the audio editor when shooting video with the pixel 8 pro. That is a killer feature, I've got to have.
Прикольная музыка) что пиксель и айфон снимают примерно одинаково.
I will say iphones recording mic has a lot of what sounds like white noise. Pixel sounds better and overall the picture/image/video quality for a phone that cost less is definitely more impressive.
iPhone won for me watching this on a 65 inch calibrated oled TV. Video wasn't even close. Photo was close
For me the pixel is better at almost everything except night video. something that the iPhone does much much better than the pixel Is the transition between the different cameras in a video which is very noticeable on the pixel and nearly flawless on the iPhone
So true! The transition between the Pixel's lens during video is so choppy. Always bugs me.
I don’t know why iPhone has always had a yellow tint to it’s photos
Looks like Pixel has reduced lens flare
Thanks for the review. I have a question though. Were there any camera/phone updates applied on either of these phones prior to your review? I ask because I am seeing lots of inconsistencies in the brightness and low light control on the ip15 pro as compared to the reviews that were made immediately after the ip15 pro launch by other tech reviewers? Same photography/video scenarios ip15 did poorly before but in your review as per my opinion, I felt it did better in particular, when faces were concerned? Though overall, I still think p8 pro did a great job. Tks.
I just ordered my 8pro, but that jolty zooming in is annoying. They need to fix that. I'll give some the video 👑. Only reason i like Pixel now is the UI and camera features. Apple just strangles his user base.
Generally the pixel is definitely superior. The iPhone stills are pretty poor. My 14 pro was awful too.
Google has really knocked it out of the park.
Fantastic quality both, great comparison, appreciate your work!
Wow video sound is so much more clear on the pixel. It's like having ANC on.
Pixels pictures are still better and iPhone has a slight edge on the video side but pixel is getting a lot better in video
The iPhone looks like it's got a colour filter over the shots where as the pixel looks more natural
I tried a whole bunch of Android smartphones this year hoping to find something that would make me switch back to Android, even though I am 100% in the Apple ecosystem (iPhone, Mac mini, iPad).
The only one I found that could replace my iPhone is the Pixel 8 Pro. I didn’t encounter the same issues I usually find with Android smartphones. The voice command works perfectly (unlike other Android devices where, for some reason, I can never get the voice command to work on the Gboard keyboard). Additionally, when setting up a new phone, you can have an exact copy of your old Pixel, just like you can with a new iPhone.
This isn’t the case with Samsung, etc., where you end up having to put all the apps back into folders yourself, reorganize everything, etc.
In the end, I found that the photo and video quality were not as good as on the iPhone, so I kept my iPhone 15 Pro Max and returned the Pixel. However, I’m still looking forward to seeing the Pixel 9 Pro XL. I would be very happy to see Google reclaim its crown as the king of photography.
They have the resources and talent; I don’t know what’s missing for them to achieve it.
Having a disability, voice command allows me to write very quickly without exhausting myself, so it’s indispensable for me. Additionally, I don’t understand why, when copying data from an old Android smartphone to a new one, you don’t get an exact copy of what you had on the old one. You have to reorganize everything, redo your folders from scratch, etc. This is a basic feature, and Android is advanced enough to have this functionality. I will never understand this.
Cannot compare Google HDR performance, dynamic rang, and Google real Skin tone colour.
And Ultra wide camera is much more bigger then iPhone.
IPhone front face camera Video is garbage in daylight. IPhone didnot catch-up Pixel front camera picture and Video comes out in the daylight.
Google night sight is far ahead then the iPhone.
Google is still the king 👑.
whoever likes ios, buys iphone no-matter the camera quality. Both phones are great, google seems better in low light photos. Though in terms of photograph I do not see any particular progress vs smartphones of 2022. For example all of these samples are not better than the results I have with my Vivo X90 pro plus, or Samsung s23 utra etc.
Google so far better from Apple but not in all photos something different , Google really can improve Performance In everything, and win the first marketing mobile phones , but until now no body know why Google always wants to be at the Finish line of the Flagship Smartphone business. But still pretty good Smartphones with really great OS .
Colors nicer on iPhone. 5x also better imho. But overall flagships are closer and closer now.
colours on iphone are not realistic, are all yellowish, mah
Nope the colors of iPhone are yellowish. But yeah, dynamic range and details are much better on iPhone. Wish iPhone had the color science of pixel. It would be the best camera smartphone
that is very close. Iphone has a slight green tint and in daylight. pixel at times has a slight yellow tint in night. lens transition and zoom is much smoother in iphone, iphone video is also less jittery when moving around. colours and hdr are better in pixel but close. pixel's front facing camera is better in daylight but not by leaps and at night both seem equal.
Only if pixel's battery life, modem, performance were not mediocre at best.
Pixel is better in Front camera. Videos also much improved.
I wish they use a better sensor and lense for front camera.
I think pixel is more Value for money this time than iphone.
6:00 And
8:15 see the colour reproduction. And this difference is infact everywhere 😊
Colour Science 😅
iPhone lost only in ultra wide at night but in video department its ultra wide is better. During day pixel has a lil rose tint.. I don’t know how people don’t see it. Main camera is better on iPhone even at night dynamic range is higher (08:19 min)
But anyway, now it’s more to preference which system and phone looking do you prefer more
Google, having a lot of technologies with artificial intelligence, was unable to make a smooth zoom while recording a video (I mean the smooth movement of the cameras). and is this the best phone for shooting video? During the light part of the day it can still cope with video recording without falling far behind the iPhone, but in the evening it doesn’t
Pixel took it, especially in low light
Pixel 8 pro memang padu ❤
Nice job as always!🎉
Can you do a comparison between pixel 7 pro vs pixel 8pro please 🙏
pixel is really the king of photo and also it is surprising how it is more detailed compared to the 5x zoom of iphone since it has 50mp.. and also it is now coping with the videos.. and i cant decide which one has the color accurate
supm about the tasteful dimensional photos the pixel produces best video on android @9:58 check out the 15 Pro hdr bug with the green screen where highlights should've been recovered 😅
Pixel 8 pro selfie camera is not at all good, too much of contrast, just see the dark colors below the eyes and the beard
On iphone its totally different, i wonder why pixel 8 pro is getting all the hype for camera where as these are some major non neglected issues.
I am very surprised that the video on the pixel lags, as if it is working with a stretch, and when switching lenses, large shakes are visible and this will be decided by the eye. Alas, but the iPhone is king
0:34 - 1st foto on pixel UWide lense is just not focused.. but i dont think its problem of lense but problem of your shot.. i bet you its just not focused right during the shot... other UW photos are close to ip15
I think both are greater so it’ll really just boil down to personal preference.
iphones photos are better overall, but they are too close to really care. I think they use the same camera sensor from sony, but apples post processing is better. i dont know why he didnt use raw mode to really how much better the camera is on the iphone.
The Pixel stomps all over the iPhone in almost every scenario. The night time videos and photos are not even close. And the Pixel is brilliant at eliminating background noise on video.
P8P destroys Iphone at night in pics badly. Daytime, its a mixed bag, either side can win. selfies, I find Pixel more detailed
After listening to Google I honestly thought that the Pixel 8 Pro would've done better 🤭
Always the Man to see for cam comparisons! Been with Google since the first Nexus and have not left them yet. At this point, it's really a matter of taste with the cameras from both Alphabet & Apple, But as far as OS and UI and still photos go, I'm still Camp Google. Android phones in general still have a bit of way to go with the video tho, Apple is still the best in video.
iphone video is dark light is really bad, only daytime videos are better on iphone, everything else is better on pixel.google hasn't figured out yet the smooth zoom on videos
You don't need dslr camera you have google pixel 8 pro in pocket but i have only complain front video camera is crap for video
The iPhone Pro Max has a really excellent camera system. Nevertheless, the Pixel is the clear winner in almost every situation. Didn't expect that.
The one thing I can't get over is the weird yellow color boost in the iphone photos. It's such an artificial color vibrancy to the color yellow
That google snap when switching lenses is kinda bad tho... And edge detection dtill far behind everyone else, which is sad.
Why is it that Google is unable to have a smooth transition when shooting videos? Looks horrible compared to the iPhone.
The iphone is still the king for capturing the RED color. Besides that, for me there is no clear winner.
