What is a Map?: A Multi-Animator Project!
I’m so happy to announce that Love You In The Fall is officially complete!! Everyone did such an incredible job with their parts and I hope you all enjoy watching the finished product!!

Synopsis:
This Map is about the two best friends Smudge and Rusty, but mainly focuses on the character Smudge. After Rusty decides to leave kittypet life behind and live his new life as a warrior cat in ThunderClan, Smudge must learn to deal with the loss of his friend.

I love this!! Ive always hated how forgotten smudge is when firestar spent a good amount of his life with him, so its nice to see him being remembered for once!
I literally cried in the part where firestar tells smudge he’s leaving. ‘Hey bestie! I’m leaving you too join strangers in the forest, bye lol.’ ‘PLEASE DONT LEAVE ME I LOVE YOU RUSTY’ ‘sorry lol’ ‘ok.. fine..’

This map is EASILY MY FAVORITE ONE! EVERYONE DID AMAZING AND THE EDITING WAS BEAUTIFUL, FOR A SECOND I EVEN THOUGHT I WAS WATCHING A MOVIE!
everytime i remember smudge exists i also remember about the fact once they (spoilers to havent read far into the books but it isn't that new either) is that when they left for the lake area that smudge never knows that firestar is dead
JUST FINISHED THE MAP- INSTANTLY A COMFORT MAP. ALL THE ARTISTS DID SO WELL AND ALL THE PARTS FLOWED SO WELL TOGETHER. WELL DONE TO EVERYONE!!
Ah, this reminds me of an old AU I thought of a while ago... Rusty deciding to leave and be a warrior, but Smudge following and insisting he wouldn't let Rusty leave without him. Best friends till the end. =w=
What a coincidence! I started a fanfic with that very premise!
I’m late but this map really has a special place in my heart! My favorite movie was open season as a kid, it wasn’t the best movie. But as a girl born in Montana, the forest and aesthetic of the film stuck with me. To find a map based off the themes of the movie has made me so happy and I been waiting for a long time for this map to be released! I like the details to reference to the movie as well. The backgrounds and landscapes, the fishy crackers on Smudge’s collar. The similar designs and aesthetic, it’s all genius and a smart way to represent it! Everyone did a amazing job and it was thanks to the host and animators this project was brought to life! ❤

I think I just like that movie because of nostalgia reasons. I used to be obsessed with it!! And somehow I am just now realizing what a banger this song is

This is a work of art! I love how the weather reflected the characters’ moods, that was a cool symbolic detail and added emotion! I also love how Smudge _gradually_ let go of the past!
I love all the Smudge MAPs that are coming out! This one especially, the designs are amazing, and the animators did a splendid job!

I'm happy that their friendship is finally displayed. And how Rusty has a unique design here!!!
Can I just say how adorable the credits are? I love the amount of detail put in. The entire MAP is very sweet and genuine, it feels like a total breath of fresh air compared to how serious and dark most are. Great job!

to be honest this is the most cutest MAP I've ever seen!
oh my god this is BRILLIANT. I love how this map focusses on Smudge as he's generally forgotten in a lot of fan content. The designs are great and they went really well with everyone's styles. The animation flowed really well and everyone's styles went well with each other. The premise is brilliant, because as I said before, Smudge is often overlooked and I haven't seen many MAPs or animations focussing on him and his relationship with Rusty at all.
i was so preparing for the credits to make it land on the forest being destroyed thanks to the twolegs but oh em gee i’m so happy it didn’t that would’ve made it so sad
It would’ve been great if Smudge had joined rusty in thunder clan (Spoilers ahead!)
It would have been better in my opinion if Erin hunter had Smudge go with rusty, or at least that Firestar would have said goodbye to him and princess. It still makes me cry when i think about it, i hope he visits them both from starclan at least :(

Smudge and Rusty always reminds me of Jake and Talltail/star ,but it’s Jake going to the forest and Talltail staying as a kittypet. How much roles can be switch between two cats!

I like to think Smudge went to Starclan, he clearly believed in them because he talked to Firestar about seeing Skyclan ghosts, and Firestar probably told him about Starclan

I love the way smudge isnt forgotten in this, I think it’s sad still, the way smudge’s best friend left him for good, yet smudge has princess and hattie (during Rusty’s leader stage, FireStar) plus whilst Rusty was a warrior in thunderclan, he would yet visit smudge and princess often (until he was caught by TigerClaw lol)
But it must be sad for smudge Sitting on the fence all day, even smudge was trying to decide if he should go out in the forest like fireheart cause Rusty was his best friend, right? :C

I'm so happy to see more smudge maps!! I've always thought he needed more attention and I really like his character and when I saw this map it made me happy! Shoutout to all the animators who worked on this.
I feel like nobody ever talks about princess, I’m not very far into the books (omen of the stars 2) and I feel like everybody forgot her, I know that she’s not very important but she’s also the reason cloudtail went into the clan, that white wing exists, etc

I miss the fact that the kittypet that Leafpaw/pool helped escape being captured by two legs only once mentioned that Smudge still talked about Rusty and how he went into the forest.
I feel like there could've been a neat interaction between the two as a sort of final farewell.
