    VIDEO INTRODUCTION: In the past 3 years, we have seen some of the most sensational space events in the world, Elon Musk has been launching rockets one after the other, India and Russia are aggressively pursuing their moon mission, US is about to launch its moon mission in 2025 and even China and Japan are preparing for the same. But while most people might think this to be yet another exploration move, Very few people realize that it has a geopolitical angle to it!! If You don't believe me, look at this, In November 2019, NATO declared space as one of the warfighting domains. France changed the name of its Air Force to the Air and Space Force and Russia combined its air force, anti-air, and antimissile defenses into the Aerospace Forces in 2015. So do you realize what's happening, Space is literally turning into a frontier of warfare!!!
    So all this drama is not just scientific discovery but also about having that extra advantage during times of war!! So the space race has a very significant geopolitical implication in the 21st century!!! So the question is,
    How did space suddenly turn into a frontier of geopolitical power?
    Which are the most strategic points that superpowers of the world are racing towards?
    and where does India stand in this drama???

      No one will be motivated. All Indians will just prepare for govt jobs and for the security of their life and family and pension and all other shits but they want some angels to come out of nowhere and compete head to head with innovative countries like USA and China where every person of the country contribute. This is a very impractical wish. India will never go ahead until every Indian will take part in its innovative growth. And this govt job culture is degrading the youth of India and govt should think on this matter.

      geostationary are not the same as lagrange point. as for how satellite can monitor the same point, they just rotating their camera, they don't have to be directly overhead, even at an angle, when you are a few 100km up, you can see the same spot for quite some time just by rotating with the planet. that is how China can film US carrier moving from one city to another.

      Slight correction to what Ganesh said about Lagrange points:

    The south pole is a very important place for the future. Not just because of the possibility of water there but also that will be the first place where setting a colony is possible. Lack of atmosphere on the moon means lots of asteroids and meteor impacts on the surface but the south pole has very few such impacts

    • @SpaceYaan
      @SpaceYaan 9 місяців тому +7

      I would like to correct you here. South pole has lots of craters and definitely not insulated from asteroids. In fact, even a single small asteroid impact can cause lot of damage to a human colony. When it comes to setting up colony, the discussion is open-ended. Moon lava tubes seems more promising as they offer protection from solar radiation as well, but their utility is yet to be confirmed.

    Let me add 2 valuable points to this already great video:
    1. Moon is not the eventual goal. The reason to focus on moon is actually to build a Launch / Refuelling facility on Moon. Such facility will be used to launch Mars missions and other deep space missions. This will make space missions a lot cheaper. The country who will lead this, will for sure be a leader in further space missions.
    2. At Lagrange points, the gravity of 2 large bodies is NOT same as you have said. Rather at these points, the gravitational pull of two large masses precisely equals the centripetal force required for a small object to move with them and orbit with no additional energy requirement.
    I have discussed these points on my channel in detail. If you are interested, you can watch there to get the full picture.

    India should prioritize space engineering as an important branch in engineering colleges. Our generation will be very interested in furthering India on this front. But how to do this? It wont happen unless one of the rich ppl invest in space programs where youth can be employed.
