Amy Slaton hey I meant to give you a tip that I use when baking lots of my cakes. Instead of using any type of oil, substitute applesauce. So if it calls for 1/4 cup of oil you'll use a. 1/4 cup of applesauce. Best to use unsweetened too so it doesn't alter the taste of the cake. Trust me though girl it will make your cakes super moist. 😘😘

When cake is too wet you have to cook it longer to get it to set and that may be why it burnt.
