2016 VXR from water box is 3" 1/2 to 3 1/2" 90 degree to 3 1/2" 45 degree pipe. Thanks for great video.
Just a heads up, some guy on the forum have mentioned that the extra weight and the position of these home made money saving exhausts puts strain and pressure on the stock exhaust exit and starts cracking causing leaks

Well I ordered the pipe and that fit fine into the rubber part that goes to the rear exit but the silicone part is a no go so far. 1st company I ordered the 3.25 n it was way to small. Measured at 3’” on the inside. Then I ordered another that specifically said 3.25” ID. Not going on still. 1/4” is pretty hard to stretch. Should have gone with my gut and ordered 3 1/2” for everything. The metal pieces have the bead roll so even if it wasn’t super tight it would clamp down ok

It should run without a problem all your doing is removing a couple of pipes and baffles doesn't make sense why it would not run correctly

So I tried this exact setup... tried to start the ski and I wouldn’t stay running. After much trouble shooting I never could identify any problems. So I ended up putting everything back to stock, and the ski ran perfectly again. Any ideas or did I miss something? Thanks for any help (2005 VX1100)
I'm not sure I didn't have any problems maybe you have a sensor on your water Box or somewhere

@@mekuranda no I sure didn’t. I’m very mechanical having worked on my own cars and motorcycles all my life. I tried everything I knew to do and researched the internet as well for any similar issues or discussions with this conversion but to no avail. Each time I put the stock exhaust back on it ran perfectly. Weirdest part of it all is I actually removed the spark arrester and air filter/breather both before and after trying this exhaust mod, but the intake mod had zero affects whether the exhaust was stock or modded.🤷🏼♂️. Ended up selling both my skis this past Summer. Still have the boot and elbow; be more than happy to send em to you for shipping cost. They’re no good to me

I have seen a few vids on people removing the air ribbon filter...not sure why Yamaha put it there, must be there for a reason... safety, flame arrestor...not sure I would want to reduce safety for a little performance gain, but the exhaust is unlikely to reduce safety and might sound a little better, beefier, and have a performance boost, at the expense of quietness...the VX is super quiet in stock trim.
@@mekuranda ah! Yeah, probably wouldn’t make it to you without its own VaX passport anyways.🤷🏼♂️. Yeah I regretted removing the ribbon on the intake side after watching a few hull explosion. Definitely had a deeper more throaty tone, but wasn’t worth the risk. Everyone I knew had done that mod with no disaster, but there’s always that one chance. Nonetheless, good luck with everything on your ski. Also, wishing you all the best down there with everything you’re going through; it’s truly been unbelievable from my viewpoint.

I did try making a video but after reviewing it the sound quality on video was not the same as in person I can tell you it sounds a 100% better than stock.

I have a 2019 Yamaha EX and I have a free flow and I wanted to delete the water box. I was wondering if you could do this to delete the water box.
Unfortunately cannot answer that question your best bet would be speak to a experienced mechanic

Used to have an FX140, I put a Riva free flow on it, and honestly, I was dissapionted on how quiet it was. However the Riva free flow is plastic so if you use metal i'm sure it would be louder.
daltondrummer was there any performance difference on it?
Honestly it felt slower, all these people think they get gains from making the engine more free flowing but it'll just run worse as its tuned for the stock exhaust. If you get it tuned to the new exhaust sure it would be faster.
My old Fx-140 literally blew up right after I put the exhaust on. (No it wasn't the exhausts fault it was just old and leaking oil already.
I did a lot of research and there's just so little mod support for the FX-140 that i'd recommend keeping it how it is.
Maybe polish it and make it look nice to sell.
I got a good deal on a FX SHO 2009 for 6K.
MUCH faster, there's no comparison, it scared everyone who rides it with me.
If you want to mod, get one with a supercharger and ECU tune it.
daltondrummer you is was slower do to the exhaust did it had an intake also or just exhaust?
Is there any issue using Aluminumin pipe as opposed to stainless. I notice the stainless is close to the fibreglass body shell is there a min. Distance to stop heat transfer issues to fibre glass?
I had no issue with it and i run it every weekend. also I am sure you can find some kind of thin stick on shield to stick on the hull from eBay.

Can't tell you never done a 2013 I'm thinking it should work but you might wanna do some measurements.
