I now have the same bike at one year older 2012, I put 13000 miles on a 2014 CTX in one year and the thing I needed most was storage. Glad you know a great bike when you see one. Nice videos and keep riding when you can.

Nice video dude. Usually guys riding and talking tend to ramble. You do a good job of keeping on topic with helpful comments. You could be the American Ryan F9.

Skel3tor1 Great video. My CTX1300 Deluxe gets about 73 mpg. I also have no reserve tank on mine. The Gas pump icon will come on and flashes how many more miles to go on mine before it is empty. I have gotten it down to at least 9 miles left before I usually fill up, if I get it that far down. :)I did like my Rebel, but damn, it had a problem keeping the chain tight going down the highway, when I had it about 4 years ago.

Hey man, really glad you're back! Love the new bike, I started off on a rebel 250 about 5 years back cause of your good reviews, sold it for the usual reasons and just recently picked up a shadow 750 and I'm loving it!

Bill Thomas Thanks for the comment. Glad you enjoy the bike and that you started off with the Rebel after watching my videos. The Rebel is an awesome machine. It's cool you upgraded to a Honda Shadow! They are great bikes as well with a really low seat height. Great to hear you are enjoying your new ride as well! :)

My sister in law lives in Jefferson. I am taking a look at a 2014 black NC on Monday. The guy wants 6500 with the Corbin seat and tall windscreen. Looks really nice. The black looks particularly nice. saw on in the dealer today.

First off, congrats on the find.Very good review of this motorcycle too.The only thing that pisses me off about this ride is the fueling.I ride a 03 Vstrom 1000 and as you might know, just pull the ignition key and open it in the fuel cap in front of the rider. In twelve years I can count on one hand how many times I got off the bike to fill up. I would miss that big time;-) Ride safe.

Great video! Love mine! This is my 5th bike and coming from a 2007 V-Strom 1000 it is a quite different beast! So much lighter than the V!!! The only thing I miss about the V is the knuckle guards! Need to order some for the NC700X!

I managed to get my 2013 NC up to 105 on a straight road with no wind, then I backed off the throttle. It took a couple minutes to get there, but not bad since I weigh 240 lbs!

I'm just looking for a 700X, so at 170 I should be able to run 80+ for extended periods (like all day) on the freeway??

very nice bike. how much does full coverage insurance run? I ask because I'm investing in a bike (prefer automatic transmission ) and I'm 28. think it'll be cheaper because I'm out of the high risk age and have never been in a wreck lol. considered a cager but they are to expensive. :)

Nice job and nice bike. It's one of the ones in my top choices. Not sure I can handle the low power though. Keep it upright.

Another great video, how many hours do you think you could ride before comfort was an issue?

I enjoy your videos and have been seriously considering this bike. My apprehension is power. As we all know by now, every happy owner of this popular machine talks about the need to shift short out of 1st. My question to you is; do you feel that this bike has a lot less power than the Vulcan 750 or does it have more to do with shifting and staying in the power band??

Hi Thomas! Thanks for writing in and posing a question to me. I can indeed confirm that the NC700X is not going to be your hold on to your seat while your ass puckers up because you're about to fall off the back when you roll on the throttle. Bikes that gave me that effect when riding was the Honda Magna. The vulcan also would have a lot of get up and go, but not as much as a Magna. The NC700X is slower to accelerate and that was the design behind the fuel efficiency gains with the bike with having it to cruise along in a lower RPM band. This bike is not going to be one where you can just slam back on the throttle in 1st or 2nd gear and feel like you're going Mach 2 in a jet. :P. So, if you're looking for raw power and the ability to just take off like a rocket, then I'd pass up on the NC700X. It isn't going to be what you're looking for.

Ryan Thomas Thanks. I busted the bracket slightly for the rear mount, which is a cheaper camera but once I get that replaced (will have to order the part) I'll be back up with my picture in picture view.

Awesome review. Thanks for doing it. I am looking to buy a bike and NC700X is my first choice. Did you say that you found the seller on ebay?

I have had as high as 83mpg on my NC700x, they are a great bike, comfortable and you can stretch out Im 6ft tall it is comfortable, CofG is so low it feels like a much smaller bike
I dont see top end acceleration as being a con, for this bike at all, as it is much faster than every econo car, and probably much faster than your truck, definitely your 250 bike.
the plastic is much better to remove than a Goldwing GL1800 that I used to have, but like anything you need to do it a few time to get familiar with it

Even if I was a millionaire, I'd still get the regular version versus the DCT. I don't want something that is going to feel like a scooter. I enjoy shifting through the gears and the Doctor guy had a vstromm also, so I don't think he wanted the DCT. :P
