    Recently, China's national TV stations have been frequently broadcasting similar news in high profile. CCP is carrying out a drill focused on joint sea-air combat-readiness patrol, joint seizure of comprehensive battlefield control, and joint precision strikes on key targets.

      Democracy is not free either. Politicians use agendas, lies, and narratives to sway public opinion.
      Why does the US support Taiwan on the other side of the world? To support the democracy of the Taiwanese people?
      Certainly not. That's "media speak". It's to maintain power of US military and strategic deterrence against China. If Taiwan unites China, the US will lose its advantage in the Pacific region, not to mention the semiconductor industry.
      I think the "good versus evil" idea is too simplistic to capture the nuances in the geopolitical conflicts.
      All governments in the world do the same: consolidate power. So some power-holders are good and others are evil?

    "China's military drills around Taiwan has always and will always be a method which they use to steer public opinion and maintain control. Whenever a drill occurs, look inward at China and what kind of social economic crisis they are facing at the moment and you will realise why they made such a move."

    • @chinesesparrows
      @chinesesparrows 4 місяці тому

      The laws were rapidly passed behind closed doors without public discourse by KMT+TPP, hence the protest contained many KMT and TPP supporters. Electing a representative of one party doesn't mean 100% support everything they do. For example states, cities that mostly elect one party setup propositions for citizens to vote on in the US. No one likes CC style shoving down throat laws

    • @chinesesparrows
      @chinesesparrows 4 місяці тому +5

      No one likes CC-style unilateral ruling. KMT+TPP which rapidly passed this law without public discourse is why even their supporters protest. Voting one party doesnt mean supporting everything 100%. For example even areas where one party is popular in have time for votes on multiple propositions citizens can vote on, or criticize in townhalls. None of this was done by KMT+TPP who passed rapidly without public discourse.

    • @ThySmoothOperator

      @@chinesesparrows You make a perfect point and I agree on the absurdness of how the law was passed. I was vocalizing my criticism towards how the video insinuates that the KMT or TPP is somehow controlled by the CCP when we all know this is very far from the truth as the KMT still isn't even legal on the mainland and much less the TPP. Instead of "The ccp obtained a majority in the legislative Yuan" it should of stated "the majority in the yuan using ccp like behavior passed a law".

    The US is and always has used Taiwan for its own purposes. The current US government is also the result of a coup and people like Blinken are the last people I would put my trust or faith in. At the same time, China is the closest it has ever been to taking back Taiwan by force but the costs would still be huge and the results too unpredictable. Regardless of China’s true intentions, it costs them nothing to constantly give the impression they are about to make their move and puts anyone defending Taiwan on a perpetual state of high alert.
    While we cannot deny the fact that Taiwan was always a part of China, the one China claims made since Taiwan’s independence are just ridiculous as everyone can see Taiwan has been run as a totally separate nation. As with the rest of the world, the ordinary Chinese people on both sides do not need to see on another as separate and the only enemies are the politicians from both sides of the Strait as well as those of other countries who continue to use Taiwan for their own purposes.
