I found your channel while looking for Robert McCammon booktube videos after finishing Usher’s Passing and loving it…and apparently I hit the freaking jackpot!! I’m reading Boy’s Life now!
Wow, I'm so happy The Rising made your top 10! 🤩 I added the light at the end & wind up bird chronicles to future tbrs. They both sound really good! Great list, hope your second half of the year is full of great reads too!
I think you'd enjoy Light at the End! Hahah i honestly have no idea how many people will like The Wind Up Bird Chronicle because it's so meandering and mundane but also weird hahaha so it was also just a really unique reading experience for me personally hahah I never know how to explain it 🤣 if you do get to it one day I hope it works for you too 💖 thanks for watching, Amy 💖 and thanks again for putting so many great books onto my radar. You rock
Dang I love how much you’ve been reading outside your typical wheelhouse. I have done the same by starting to branch out into lit fic. Loving it!! Weirder the better 😂
I think it's so fun to branch out. Sometimes, it makes discovering new favorites that much more satisfying because it can be so unexpected when it's outside of your normal fav genre! Thanks for watching 💖😊
VC Andrews is nostalgic for me. 😊 I LOVE the Bunnicula series. ❤ 🐰 ❤One of my favorite middle-grade series. I love that you’re not big into zombies, but you still support my zombie obsession. 😂 I need to get a copy of the author’s preferred text of The Rising. 🧟♀️ Nice Top Ten, so far. I’d never be able to pick just ten. I’d have to break it down by genre, picture books, middle-grade, etc. I’m a mess. 😂
I will always support your zombie obsession 😊😆 what else are friends for! It was really hard just picking 10 🤣 it's gonna be torture at the end of the year if I keep having so many good reads
I swear I'm always a few steps away from reading Flowers in the Attic hahaha maybe one day. This is a great top ten because it's so varied. Just like youuuuuu!
“He’s just chillin in this well.. wondering where his wife is” Accurate 😂 I’m waiting for the day McCammie comments on one of these videos. The Light at the End, Speaks the Nightbird & A Choir of Ill Children are all books I’d like to read in the coming months. This is a fun and versatile list! 📚
I should have added a disclaimer about The Wind Up Bird Chronicle that I'm probably an outlier about loving that one as much as I do too (like what I said about A Choir of Ill Children) 😂🤣
Yay for Speaks the Nightbird! I'm so glad we got to buddy read it together 😊 McCammie for life!! Flowers in the Attic was such a surprise for me too. Loved it. Awesome video!
It's so hard to pick a fav! The 2nd book actually may be my favorite of all but the first book got my obsession going so that's why I put that particular one on this list 😆😊 thank you so much for watching 💖
I love Haruki Murakami. I bought The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle earlier this year and I’ve been meaning to read it. This makes me want to push it to the top of my list. I still haven’t read anything by Robert McCammon but now I have to. So many great books here!
I don't know if everyone, even Murakami fans, would like The Wind Up Bird Chronicle! I hope you do though! For some reason it really worked for me but I can never put into words WHY 🤣 Which books or book by him have you read? 👀 I hope you enjoy McCammon if you check out his writing one day 😍
@@SlimeAndSlashers I’ve read After Dark by him and that’s the one that made me fall in love with his writing. It’s set in Tokyo through an entire night and each chapter is a different time of the night. There are all different characters you’d expect to see in the middle of the night…prostitutes, pimps, mobsters, etc. It’s hard to explain. It was dark of course but there was that magical realism element and it was all just so mesmerizing. I can’t explain it. I just LOVE his weird writing style. 😂
I love Weird fiction! I also love Robert McCammon books. The only Robert McCammon books that I haven't read are the Matthew Corbett series and his vampire western books. As soon as Leviathan (which will be the last Matthew Corbett book) comes out I'm reading the entire series. I do own all of his books. I also have A Choir of Ill Children but I haven't read that one yet either.
Hope you love the Matthew Corbett books when you get to them! I'm definitely going to be continuing on with the series. McCammon is so underrated. I wish more people on UA-cam raved about him - I'm so glad you're a fan of his writing 😁 thank you for watching. A Choir of Ill Children is weird and slowish but it just really worked for me for some reason 😄 thanks again!
Listen, Victor Garber is really close to landing Bunnicula at the top of my list, his narration is perfection. I am so happy with my Look What You Made Me Do challenge. 4 of my six best books came from that challenge. If only I had put Tastes Like Candy for your box, you coulda been a contender (sorry, Gnelfs). 😂
Honestly, the bunnicula audio is maybe the best audiobooks ever 🙌 so amazing. The story itself is cute but his narration somehow makes it even cuter- how is that even possible 🤯
I really enjoyed Speaks the Nightbird especially the first few chapters, which was super scary. However the ending chapters were just plain ridiculous, just like Swan Dive. A series that has the same feel is Justice of Kings by Richard Swan, it is fantasy though. The main character, Konrad Vonvault has so much gravitas!

I hope you love Boy's Life! I am so happy you loved Usher's Passing and happy that you found my channel too! Thank you so much for being here 😊
Bunnicula is so cute!! Omg!!I always think of Ghoul when I think of Brian Keene 😂😂😂 awesome list!!! 🎉
For some reason, I just didn't love Ghoul. The Rising was really engrossing, though, for me 🤔😆 thanks for watching, Katrina ❤️

@@SlimeAndSlashers McCammie would be a good name for a dog or a rooster 😂
@Alicia-606 hahaha it really would make the perfect pet name
Awesome list Kelsi! Bunnicula for life! 🐇
Thank you Crystal! YAAAAS BUNNICULA FORVER 🥰😍
I'm glad "Bunnicula" made your top ten!
There's no way it couldn't make the top 10. It's the cutest
Yay for Speaks the Nightbird! I'm so glad we got to buddy read it together 😊 McCammie for life!! Flowers in the Attic was such a surprise for me too. Loved it. Awesome video!
So glad we read Speaks the Nightbird together! It made the experience even more enjoyable! Flowers in the Attic for life!!! Thanks for watching Alex
First Date Prophecy sounds adorable! 🧡 Rising sounds soooo good! 🧟♂️ You’ve got a fantastic and intriguing list here! 🤘🏻
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️ First Date Prophecy really was so cute
I love the Bunnicula books!! I think Return to Howliday Inn is my favorite of all of them! 👻
