    Why is Tim so hilarious. Joey "it's fine" *closes lid*...Tim "it's not. " *continues to stir soup*. Marital life to a T. Love that he's on more lately.

    You dads nailed it. I just turned 70 and was well on my way to losing weight and feeling great when I hit a hard plateau. My daughter was pregnant and I ate out with her essentially giving up. I’ll never be Plantiful Kiki or HC Hannah and have their metabolism. So this offering you give will enable me during that planteau (misspelled on purpose) to soldier on with lower calorie meals. I don’t cruise so I will need to find a doctor that can tell me my BMR and take it from there. You pulled the curtain back for me from what was holding me from my goals and I thank you.

    Love you guys! Hey Tim, noticed your cutting board was moving around on your slick countertop. Take a towel or wash cloth, wet it and place the cutting board on top. Viola, cutting board stays put. Safer when chopping too.

    Tim, thanks for pointing out the measuring spoons! You're quite right, I needed something to put on my Christmas list, and I'm still struggling with an ages-old set of round spoons. Score!

    You can take all those vegetable trimmings and boil them in your instant pot for broth! I keep a zip lock bag of trimmings in my freezer, when it's full I make broth and freeze it. I haven't bought broth in years!

      @PlantBasedDads I don’t have kids but it’s awesome for hungry adults and you want a quick meal. I put it on broccoli or baked potatoes and anything that needs some quick cheeze. 😉

      Ever since the pandemic, we try to make sure we have what we need if we cant get some of these things again. The lemons are nice because or friend has two trees and they don't use them. So we go with our sprouts bags and start pulling lemons and filling those bags. It is a lot of work to juice them but then we have them all year so it is so worth it. We often freeze fresh veggies when we get a good deal on them at the latino markets. They have such great veggies that we cant get anywhere else and we want them all year long. If you don't plan, you fail, right? Thanks so much for watching and commenting.

    Love these Sunday videos! You inspire me to get my prep game going each week. For the Brussels sprouts, once I trim off the ends, I use the slicing wheel/blade of my food processor to shred them, rather than doing it all by hand. I also use the food processor to shred carrots for spring rolls, salads & sandwiches. My old Kenmore processor has a single wheel blade that has one side for slicing and you flip it over for shredding. Using the food processor saves a huge amount of prep time. Cheers!

    17:27 fun video! Thank you so much for the wonderful ideas. The cheese powder looks awesome. I make a similar powder with defatted cashew powder from pb2. I am sure yours is creamer but I love that the cashew powder has less fat. I am going to try yours though while my son is home for the holidays.
    The 2 of you have the loveliest energy, btw.

    . . . missed watching you guys...luv how you cook together....2 things - I wonder if the charring on the peppers is "cancer carcinogic"? & with all the veggies you chop, do you ever use your veggie scraps for easy super nutritious homemade broth in IP, or just store broth bcz of the convenience factor...Luv you guys...🥰

    • @gaBetibu
      @gaBetibu 6 місяців тому

      ....oops, sorry, one more thing - dunno if you've seen those vids where all those veggie scraps are, 1st, easily made into a healthy broth ( I only use organic vegs for this) - then, with the strained scraps, healthy crackers are made...maybe seems kind of time consuming, but I have several freezer bags of great veg broth ready .... God Bless... 🥰

    Love your channel, guys!! Joey, I am wondering if you could use the powdered cashew powder instead of the fresh cashews... You may want the calories and fat in the real cashews for Lex, but maybe the lower calorie/fat powder for you and Tim? What do you think?

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  6 місяців тому

      We have done that before and really it comes out just as good, but we don't really eat Mac and Cashew cheese. Lexx eats the bulk of it.

    Could you use pb2 cashew powder for your cheese sauce instead of raw cashews? How much would you use?

    • @PlantBasedDads
      @PlantBasedDads  5 місяців тому

      I would use half powder and half water to make the 2 cups of cashews needed. I have never tried that though because Lexx eats that cheese sauce and he is a swimmer. So his diet is different than ours (and he is a teenager, and know how their metabolisms are)
