I love this meal! I make it often. I was shocked when I started to lower the amount of noodles I put in my lo mein, to find that I actually prefer less noodles and way more veggies. I know you guys don’t like ginger, but fresh ginger really increases the flavor. I put chopped ginger and garlic and the sauce and put it in my bullet to really meld the flavors and get rid of any large pieces. I have to keep sodium low because of high blood pressure, so I use a teriyaki balsamic from California Balsamic, and lime juice instead of soy sauce. And I know Joey doesn’t love the mushrooms, but for us mushroom lovers, they are terrific and add another layer of heartiness. ❤️❤️
This recipe looks fantastic. Can’t wait to make. Thank you for the 400 calorie recipe. Look forward each week to see what you’re making. Maybe you should put all these recipes together in a cookbook!
I forgot to tell you about adding little sweet potatoes to the lo mein. It really helps fill in the gaps that less noodles leaves. I chop them in little cubes and air fry them till they are like little croutons. They will soften in the sauce and are pretty low calorie but really create a noodle feel and a sweetness that goes well with the Asian flavors
You guys are such an awesome team! Love, love lo mein! Also love how you encourage people to make it their own with tweaks, lower sodium choices in the sauce, more or less spice, higher protein with bean pasta, or switch up those veggies! I would totally add super thinly sliced Napa cabbage to this to bulk it up even more. YUM!!
Love yr show ! Thx for this & I can't wait to make it . I am 74 & I can't eat these mega meals like some either & continue w my weight loss . Have lost 70 # & have another 40 to go . This is perfect bc I love lo Mein !

I hear you about the weather! Here in southern New Mexico suddenly it’s 33 degrees this morning ( Wednesday).. But about the recipe..I would like to see a printout of the sauce, since that’s always my problem area. Thanks
👏🏻 Nice dish! I love that you cut the tofu in a different way. It really makes a difference! Also, I like to use the millet brown rice ramen from Costco.
Yep. All the videos have recipe links in the description below the video. Not sure how that works on a mobile device. Here it he link for this recipe. www.plantbaseddads.net/post/loaded-lo-mein
I just made the lo mein and it’s fantastic. As I read the recipe the pasta serving says 2 servings. So I assumed that separating the dish in two serving was 400 calories per serving. I watched the end of your video again and you said you split the meal in 3. So now I’m confused. Can you please clarify if this meal is 2 or 3 servings per 400 calories??
Hello. This recipe makes 3 servings for about 400 calories each. In the video I was explaining that I used two servings of pasta from the box to make this recipe. I can see how that would be confusing now that you pointed that out. The two servings of pasta are to create the whole pan of food, but the entire pan of food serves 3 people.

Thanks so much Doris.
I need an air fryer!
With the 1200 calories a day and your walking program have you seen any weight loss?
The fat comes from the tahini, the sesame oil flavor comes from that…
How much weight did you lose so far?
I don't have a air fryer for the tofu how can I do the tofu???
Oven 400F 18 mins, flip it half way through
Tofu has calcium
Is there a link for the recipe?
Yep. All the videos have recipe links in the description below the video. Not sure how that works on a mobile device. Here it he link for this recipe. www.plantbaseddads.net/post/loaded-lo-mein

I’m new to your channel. Are you able to give us the brand/ type of hoisen sauce you use? 😊
Yes for sure, it is the San J Hoisin sauce that I used when I made this video.
