I'm 22 years old, I don´t have kids and I currently live in a country where it's not an option to homeschool (Argentina) but still I LOVE watching your videos while doing something cause your voice is really peaceful and calming, at this point I honestly think that I'd watch your videos even if you're talking about plants for an hour. sending lots of love and prayers for you and your family.

It can be super simple! We started out with 8373 books and now it's just a chapter book read aloud, daughter's reading lesson book, and a fun picture book. That's it! Do I want it to have 8373 things? Yesssssss but that's not our energy/time levels!

Morning basket is our favorite anchor of the day!! Great description. It is such a pliable tool in the homeschool mama's tool box. We like “ a gentle feast’s” morning time for hymn, bible, memory, etc. We also add pilgrims progress, character, catechism, sing a song of seasons!
We also do an afternoon basket with the non mappers ;)

We started homeschooling last year and we are getting ready for our 2nd year using Abeka accredited program...the program is very overwhelming and put a lot of stress on me and my family however towards the end i realized we can divide and conquer the curriculum. As a stay at home dad ive been branching out to see how other families homeschool and I am really glad I found your channel. I really found this video helpful and thank you for taking the time to create this content. I am glad to be a homeschooling dad and know my kids are learning way more then they were when going to public school.

Love this! I didn't know this was the thing, but last year I just decided to start having circle time in the morning. And it was such a wonderful experience with both of my kids, and it really helped to warm them up to the school morning instead of just like throwing them into it first thing❤

That was super helpful! I really like the idea of having the kids work on handwriting while you read to them! For our kids (ages 6 and 3) I read a chapter while they eat their afternoon snack which has worked really well for our family. My husband grew up with his mom reading a couple chapters over lunch time. I really want to instill a love of reading in my children, just like my dad did in me.

I’ve been homeschooling my kiddos from the beginning and my oldest is a senior this year!!! It’s gone by way too fast and I’m so glad God led us this “road less taken” as it has made all the difference! We love our morning basket time. Everyone participates from age 2-17. We even did it when my oldest was in kindergarten and we called it “circle time.” I believe though that Cindy Rollins was the originator of the idea, but Pam Barnhill was able to market it as a “morning basket” as well as podcast about it (and now the morning time plans).

We do something similar but at a different time of day. I work full time normally outside of the home, but have been working from home during the pandemic. So I've chosen to homeschool while I'm working from home. We do "Group Lessons" at lunch time. My kids really love it, and it's a nice way to touch base halfway through our respective work days.

We have a three year old daughter and a son on the way. We are 100% committed to homeschooling. We feel so supported by people like you who are providing resources like this. We both went to a mix of private and public school and don’t personally know anyone who was homeschooled so this is all new for us. We couldn’t be more excited to educate at home and have freedom, flexibility and values at the heart of our schooling.

I think you are a very remarkable woman. You are such a good mom because you're hands on with everything with your children. I love the way you home school but also the way you and your husband run your household. The fact that you teach but you also wear many hats. You have a animal farm and all the children are involved in it in some way. The boys hve started a egg business and you have set them up so cute with the little stamps to print there business names and you show them how to dress when they are doing this is just amazing. I feel that you and CR were meant to be parents of a large mixed family. I wish nothing but the best for you and your family.

If you are ever interested in teaching music to your children, look into the Kodaly method and the Orff method. They're getting for teaching music to young children in a simple, fun way.

I would LOVE a video on what books you read to your kids in a year, where you find books, if you have a book list of what you’ve read and what you will read. I love the idea of read alouds. Knowing how to pick some excellent books to start and knowing how many i could do in a year would be great.

All I can think of is Rory Feek. He built a one room schoolhouse on his farm that’s working. It’s beautiful, they study a lot of nature, create a garden, so many activities for learning. Technically it’s a home school.
You share the best content, Angela.
    Thank You

So glad you're share homeschooling content!! I grew up homeschooled and my parents did really good with it. It was very structured and planned and fun!! They taught everything they could think up past the school books.😊 Everything from cooking, cleaning, sewing, farming (we had a farm), carpentry... then field trips to a huge variety of places as well.
I have so many good memories! 💜☺
She kept track and proof of our homeschooling by doing a state CAT test yearly. Three out of the five of us went to college with no problems (the other two decided college wasn't their thing so didn't go)
. My brother just graduated from Law school laat year and passed the Bar exam, and is now practicing law. 🤗 makes me so proud of my parents!
Homeschooling was VERY unpopular then. My mom got the comments for sure and even has social services try and come in our home. My mom knew all the laws though and let them know that it just wasn't any of their business and that they weren't invited inside, but if they wanted to talk she would meet them at their office the next week with proof of all our work. Lol they grunted and said it wouldn't be necessary and proceeded to leave😉.
Im so excited to start homeschooling my own children and am so thankful I have found your channel! You've already helped me a ton and have given me so many new ideas!! Between my mom and you I feel like i will be able to do it! 💜🙏

We include the daily calendar, handicrafts and mini lessons. So far we have learned to make picture frames and plum jam. My daughter has requested to read and study about ballet. We included a ballet lesson from youtube and reading a nonfiction ballet book. So fun!

I have 4 littles that I homeschool. Only 1 loves school, the others all just want to play all day. What really helps us is doing "school bucks". I go and buy some toys, games and stuff and put them up on a shelf (the school store). They have to earn "school bucks" to get them. I have cheap, quick to earn ones and some better ones. They learn to save for the better ones. I have a set "pay day" for them. It also teaches them money management. 😁

I took my little daughter out of prep here in Australia for homeschooling and I love the new philosophy. We didn't want her around teachers and other kids vaxxed and masked up and sickness rhetoric around everywhere. In Australia here we have also seen a massive rise in homeschooling registration!

As a former kindergarten teacher, I must admit my heart has softened a lot regarding homeschooling. One modality you might like that was a favorite in my classroom is the concept of Maker Spaces. All students love and benefit from them and it’s really child led. It’s basically an open-ended place to “tinker” (think a Dad’s shed). We did things with recycling, tools, wood shop, fort building, engineering etc. and you can do it in an age appropriate way at an age. Boys especially love the hands on, free thinking time. ANYWAY, with the simplicity, natural materials and what I’ve seen of your style thought you might enjoy. But I do have a question. For your children with special needs, do you “outsource” (wrong word but brain fog) things like speech, OT, PT, etc. Most of those supports would be available in a traditional school setting with specific professionals rather than generalists. What are your thoughts on that?
