Ya'll still think the entire Movie is just one big Green Screen? Despite the fact they showed literally large scale set builds in their behind the scene snippits on Minecraft's UA-cam page. The only CGI is the Mobs and the Extended Landscape past the set. Allot of the Enemy Mobs and some Animals are MoCapped actors. As for Jason Momoa his character is a Washed-Up video game champion from 1989 who has not let go of his glory and so kinda trapped himself in a pocket of time refusing to accept he has changed, so he still dresses how he would have when he was still the champion.
Listen I’m looking at this movie from a positive angle because this movie looks like it’s going to at least be fun and realistically that is main reason why Minecraft became so popular in the first place because it gave a whole generation a platform where they could let their creativity run wild and literally build anything they wanted and if this movie captures the fun, exploration and overall creativity of the game then to be personally it’s definitely done a good job at both ordering the game and it’s massive legacy

The Live Action was planned since the beginning, even back before Microsoft bought Mojang they planned on having it Live Action. The first script tease came out in February 2014, Microsoft bought the company in November 2014. We've been expecting it to be Live Action for years. If anything at the time people avoided trying to make Live-Action skits of Minecraft for they were always weird looking for they would just dress in a Minecraft costume and just pretend to be a video game character in the real world.
You guys need to watch the behind the scenes videos, the vast majority of those scenes aren’t green screens & they explain exactly why they went with live action.
I'll say this - this trailer was A LOT better than the first one. *sigh* I'll give this movie a watch when it comes out. I might regret it, but I'll see if I like it or not.

The premise is still the biggest gripe. The CG of the world looks mildly interesting for the most part, but terrible when blended with the real people supposed to be in it. And really just this story and characters are not what I would want to see from a Minecraft movie.
@ParkerCS2 I would have either done that or just done a better job at making the CG look realistic. Hell, maybe not even go for the blocky aesthetic, but just have realistic depictions of the world. Also have a Steve that actually looks like a plausible Steve.
much MUCH better trailer, this isn't like the Mario movie it's gonna be like a tribute to Minecraft which works for me even if i would've preferred a more Minecraft Minecraft movie if you catch my drift

Fun Fact: While some shots do use green screens, most sets for the movie are practical.
Which makes the running from the skeletons look worse. Cause the background is moving slower than they are.
