Good job..im bringing in a W114-280E from New Zealand over here to Germany....172thou kms..body slightly rough...i wanted that particular engine..ill get some video of it up when it gets here..so far my friends in New Zealand are having all the fun...
Thank you very much Rab! Looking forward to seeing your 280 E when it has arrived after that long journey! Those models are really exceptional. I'm lucky to own one too, a -73. Videos of it will come. Are yours RHD then?
Hey there! I'm thinking of purchasing a w115 to restore myself and i was wondering if the rear bumper and brake system would be compatible from a w123?
Hi, no the bumper is not compatible, nor is the brake system apart from the rear calipers and pads. Maybe W123 front pads will fit late W114/W115's too. Good luck with you project! Just make it happen 👌👍 //Peter
Hello and thanks for watching and commenting! I'll try to make some more detailed videos, but for this particular project it's too late since it's already done. I'll keep your request in mind.
Thanks for your comment. That sounds nice. I don't know in which condition your car is or what your experience, goals and expectations are, but my general advice is to keep the project as simple as possible by not taking it apart more than necessary. It can be easy to dismantle a new project a little bit too much just because you're filled with lots fresh energy. It soon gets much harder when everything is going back together. Also, a large project always costs much more money that you estimate, so beware of that too. But most importantly, have fun! Will we see your car here on YT?
Hello José! Thanks for the comment and for watching. Try your MB-dealer for parts. They have a lot to older models. Or contact www.steenbuck-web.de. You can also find a lot on eBay. Good Luck!
Try to find a Bakelite steering wheel, it will boost the look a lot. I own a w115 220D and it boosts the interior a lot (is original on mine). Do you also have the newer model of taillights?
Hello Anton and thanks for watching and commenting! I agree that the older steering wheel looks better, but I want to keep this car strictly original so I'll keep the one I have. Yes the car also has the newer tail lights, since it's a late W115, manufactured in 1975. In my 1968 250 and 1973 280 CE you can see the older typ of steering wheel if you want to check out those videos. Also a 1973 280 E coming up further on.

Hi Kevin and thanks for watching! Hard to answer your question without knowing some more, but I guess a good thing is to try to find a car where at least some things are in good condition. For example either a good body (which is hard to find), a good engine and transmission or a nice interior. That way you don't have to restore every part of the car. But I'd say just go for it! What model are you looking for?

Hey Pexyz! Amazing video, your work is awesome and inspiring. I am thinking of painting my car at home like you did. I have a few questions first: 1- did you use clear coat or single stage? Which is more worth it in your opinion 2- did you block sand the top of the door? I might of missed it but I didn't see it 3- what types of primer did you use in which places? 4- keep up the awesome vids! Thanks!
Hi again Gabriel and thanks for the nice comment! Here are my answers. 1. No clear coat. I only use clear coat on metallic paint. 2. Not sure exactly what you mean there, but the final stage before paint is wet sanding with 400 grit paper. I use a block wherever it's possible. On old original paint in good condition I also use 400 grit wet sanding before to coat. 3. On bare metal I use 2-comp epoxy primer. I also use 2-comp bondo on bare metal. On top of that I spray 2-comp filler (which you sand). On top of that the final paint or sometimes a "non sanding" primer between the filler and the paint. I usually spray two coats of final paint. Make sure to use old style paints (not water based). Keep the top coat quite thick. Easier to polish then. 4. Thank you again! Comments like this give me energy to keep going! 5. Good luck with your project! Is it an MB? Best regards, Peter
Thank you! The wheels are original alloy wheels, not wheel covers. I think the car looks nice with these, but of course the original hub caps are great too. I can alternate if I want to.
