Barry Sanders is quite possibly the GOAT. But, you need to do a reaction to Jerome "The Bus" Bettis, another Hall of Fame running back. As his nickname suggests, he ran players over, and often carried multiple defenders on his back for ten yards.
I don't think anyone had a more special end to his career than The Bus. His final game was helping Pittsburgh win the Super Bowl in his hometown of Detroit. Guy had heart on a level rarely matched.

A Priest Holmes sighting! His career was characterized by three things. A couple of amazing years, including challenging the single-season TD record, his zealous pursuit of Jesus, and his return to football once after a retirement (which did NOT go well). Fun fact about Barry Sanders. He rode the bench at Oklahoma State University behind Thurman Thomas, then after Thomas graduates, Sanders comes in and wins the Heisman Trophy and sets 38 records. Both phenomenal running backs.

For someone to whom football isn't a native sport, you've picked up on a lot of intuitive things that generally only long time watchers really notice. For example, noting how Marshawn Lynch secured the ball on the second run of this video against the Saints; casual fans in America wouldn't think twice about that unless he didn't do it and fumbled, but the idea is that he did put it away, and therefore didn't fumble, which is as important to spot as when someone fails to do so and does fumble it. Also, a lot of these players were pretty well known in their time. Priest Holmes is one of the great Chiefs players, Jamal Lewis was very good, and Terrell Davis is constantly a Hall of Fame finalist because for a short time he was, by a wide margin, the best running back in football
Sanders Junior year at uni is considered the greatest year of any PLAYER, not just running back, in US college football history. one okay vid i have found in college, still worth it!
Best move ever was a Barry Sanders run when he juked and sidestepped making 2 defenders crash into each other right in front of him and as they fall to the ground he just runs right by them.... The slow motion video of that is burned in my brain forever
If you haven’t done Earl Campbell yet, he is a must see. He was a freight train as a running back. Emmitt Smith with the Cowboys is also a legendary running back. He once ran plays in a game against the Giants with a dislocated shoulder, going right up the middle busting tackles.
certainly recommend watching players like Von Miller, dominant defensive players are every bit as a game-changer as any offensive. Super MVP right there, just as an example!
I have an off the wall suggestion for you. He never played in the pros but he had a good college career. He was a former QB for the University of Kansas Todd Reesing. He lead the Jayhawks to a 12-1 record in 2007-2008 season and an Orange Bowl win. That year he threw for over 3,000 yards, 33 Touchdowns with only 7 interceptions. He finished his career completing 63.8% of his passes, 11,194 yards, 90 TDs and overall passer rating of 144.0. Standing under 6 feet tall he had a style of play similar to Doug Flutie and Fran Tarkenton. Nicknamed "Sparky" for his ability to spark the offense. If you look on UA-cam you can find a few highlight videos from his Kansas career.
Barry Sanders had to wait his turn behind Thurman Thomas at Oklahoma State University. Thurman played for the Buffalo Bills in the 90's when they went to 4 straight superbowls. He was a fantastic RB.
I think the best era for just running backs were the late 80's and 90's. I don't know if it was the O lones that improved or the backs were just ahead of the defenses but there were so many great backs. Barry Sander, Emmitt Smith, The Bus, Marshal Faulk, Thurman Thomas, Natron Meas, Mike Alstott, Chrisian Okaye, Ricky Waters, Warrick Dunn, Garrison Hurst, Eddie Gorge and on and on and on. Every week was a whole new beast for every team. There was no slouches. The team may have been struggling but the running back could put a hurt on your defense and kill any confidence or momentum they had going. That was aldo a time when fullbacks were still used as bettering rams. So I guess that's why the halfbacks looked awesome.
@ 7:29 Thurman was a running back for that Buffalo Bills team that went to the Super bowl 4 straight times and never got the win. 4 times in a row without one win!
Definitely want to check out Terrell Davis. The most dominant runner of the mid to late 90's. His career was cut short due to a horrific knee injury that he never really recovered from. But he accomplished so much in his short career that he was voted to the Hall of Fame.
You should do a reaction video on shaquem griffin. He's a special teams player that has made it to the league with only one hand, and I believe I've seen a few cool videos on him... also don't in know if you knew but you can dropkick Pat's/fieldgoals. Love you're videos man.
Bo Jackson is one you have to check out. A little history: he’s one of the few players to become professional in Baseball and Am. Football. And he was a freak in both sports but probably more notable in football. He left Played pro baseball 1st then left not long after to play Football and only played short time in NFL because he blew out his knee or something. But he has the unofficial fastest 40yd dash time reported by any NFL player and he was huge and super strong. There’s not a lot of film out there on him but what he does have is pretty incredible. Look up his baseball highlights too just to see more of his athleticism
You saw a run by Steve Young in there. Number 8 for the 49ers. He was known for his ability to make plays like that on a regular. He took over for Joe Montana (who would ask for that) and was able to win a super bowl against the Steelers. And Jerry Rice was in San Francisco for years. He’s got a highlight reel a mile long.
Old school running backs to react to, Marcus Allen, arguably in the top 5 all time, LaDainian Tomlinson, Terrell Davis, and Eric Dickerson. You won’t be disappointed. Especially Allen and Dickerson.
Another great reaction video, my friend. You should check out Roger Craig, he was a running back for my beloved San Francisco 49's during the 80's. I look forward to more of your reaction vids.
One note on the Tony Dorsett record setting 99 yard TD run... The Cowboys only had 10 men on the field. The fullback, who was going to be the lead blocker forgot to come into the game. All that more impressive!
You asked who Thurman Thomas is. He played for the Buffalo Bills through the late 80's and 90s, when the Bills went to 4 straight Superbowls. He led the NFL in "all-purpose" yards (that's running and receiving combined) all 4 years. He and Barry Sanders both played at Oklahoma State at the same time, with Barry Sanders being 2 years behind him. When Thurman was a senior, Sanders was a sophomore. Can you imagine how good Oklahoma State was, with those two future NFL Hall of Famers in the Backfield??
I was with my buddy and we were standing in long line to see a movie near UCLA. A taxi pulled up and 3 people got out. A white couple and Marcus Allen. It was his rookie year with the LA Raiders. Marcus was built like a brick shithouse. The couple standing in line in front of us knew the couple with Marcus so we just stood their in awe of this guy. I always thought he looked skinny on TV too, until that day. Pure athlete.
Hope this helps you out. As far as the GOAT at running back, there are three RB that are debatable. Jim Brown, who played only 9 years for the Cleveland Browns back in the 1950's and 1960's, but was unstoppable, Emmett Smith, who played for the Dallas Cowboys and is the all time leader in NFL history in rushing yards, and Barry Sanders, who you seem to know. My opinion, Barry Sanders is the goat. He retired early, could have played 3-4 more years an would have been the NFL all time leader if he averaged what he did in his career. Terrell Davis was with the Denver Broncos, ler the league in rushing several years, but blew out a knee, Jamaal Lewis, played for the Baltimore Ravens, also led the league in rushing several times. Thurman Thomas was the star RB for the Buffalo Bills, helped lead them to four straight Super Bowls(which they lost, all four), Bo Jackson was a Heisman winning RB but messed up a hip, had to have hip replacement, but was also an All Star major league baseball player, two sport athlete. Was a better football player though. Marcus Allen was also a Heisman winning RB for the Oakland Raiders, was really great, he is just right behind GOAT status. Eric Dickerson hold the record for most rushing yards in one season. Tony Dorsett was also great, just behind GOAT status. Earl Campbell, in his prime, was he hardest man to bring down I ever saw, some say he had 36 inch thighs, but cant verify that .
You should watch Earl Camble for a power RB. This happened a long time ago but as I recall he was headed down the sideline and they had hims sealed off from coming back into the field further to evade tacklers and there was a guy waiting in front of him and Camble hit the guy so hard it picked the guy off the field and then the guy dropped down on his back and camble ran right over him and got a TD as I recall. Oh and he played for Negraska in college.
Bo Jackson was fast as hell. Incredible athlete. Also one of the few people to play two professional sports and be dominant in both. (Football and Baseball)
Hey man, I think your videos are cool and you’ve made me think I need to check out some rugby! Another player you should check highlights for is Chris Johnson. He only had 1 really good year but it was maybe one of the best year a RB ever had. One of the fastest guys ever on a field
Lawrence Taylor. Only defensive player since 1971 to win NFL MVP. Played hopped upon illicit substances, and you can tell. One man wrecking ball in the 80's.
I remember when I got over 4 million views on my web page back in 1997 with my fantasy football league. I was so blown away by the the number of hits on my page.
Some great touchdowns. Some of the players you have never heard of are actually very big names in the sport. Love football. I hate the off season. I go through football withdrawal.
Terrell Davis is in the hall of fame and really only played four years. He wrecked his knee in year five and hardly played after that. Year one 1117 yards. Year two 1538. Year three 1750 year four 2008. He got better every year and could have challenged records. Broncos won 2 superbowls because of him. All time leader in playoff average 152 yards a game.
Little info for ya... Thurman Thomas went to 4 straight Super Bowls with the Bills in the 90's, Emmitt Smith is the all-time leading rusher and won 3 Super Bowls in the 90's, 2 against Thomas's Bills, Michael Vick's career was derailed by 2 years in prison in the middle of his career for having a dog-fighting ring, and Adrian Peterson was also let go by his long-time team because of legal problems... got in trouble beating his little kid and the pictures of the bruised up kid went around the internet. Bo Jackson was possibly the most athletic person ever in American sports, also played baseball but had a hip injury end his football career... Steve Young was my favorite player growing up, threw 6 Touchdowns in a Super Bowl and could run like crazy. Man football used to be awesome.
I've noticed that the great defenses are usually named after their year. The '85 Bears, the '00 Ravens, I like my 2015 Broncos...so maybe some defensive love! My video suggestion.

Terell Davis is an NFL Hall of Famer, Super Bowl MVP and legend!
Another great reaction video, my friend. You should check out Roger Craig, he was a running back for my beloved San Francisco 49's during the 80's. I look forward to more of your reaction vids.
You should take a look at Texas A&M vs LSU, crazy game that went to 7th overtime!
Take a look at the Oakland Raiders Defense from the '70s. You'll love it.
I love you’re channel
Bo Jackson was fast as hell. Incredible athlete. Also one of the few people to play two professional sports and be dominant in both. (Football and Baseball)
I wouldnt say he was a dominant baseball player but he could've became one had he not gotten hurt.
I was so blown away by the the number of hits on my page.
bro how was nobody told him to react to lawrence taylor ???!!
Priest Holmes is so underrated. Numbers wise he is one of the best backs of all time.
Some great touchdowns. Some of the players you have never heard of are actually very big names in the sport. Love football. I hate the off season. I go through football withdrawal.
You need to check out the Patriots come-back against the Falcons. Probably the best game of football I’ve ever watched
Charles Woodson highlights, corner back for the raiders and packers
Bo Knows Football. And baseball. ;). Love the Vids. Keep up the great work.
Barry Sanders - when a guy makes you talk to yourself on spectacular play after spectacular play....
I know I'm a bit late but Barry Sanders was the back up to Thurman thomas at Oklahoma State and now both are hall of famers
My video suggestion.
just think man. Barry, Emmit, Thurman, Bo, Marcus, Td, Marshall, Dickerson.
Crazy running back times in the 90s
