that's litterally what an S-400 formation does ... Every command post 3:12 can control multiple (up to 6 iirc) engagement radars 2:35 which in turn can be associated to 12 TELs 1:09 (in Russia the standard is 8), engagement radar+TEL is called a battery. Other radars (Search radars 2:04 and the ones on the masts can be added as need be and linked directly to the command post) as well as other types of radar (Protivnik/Nebo/Barier/Vega/Avtobaza/Gamma) + can be associated to EW systems to work passively and work on incoming radiation by enemy radars. The command post is also retro compatible with S-300 radars and lunchers (S-300 can be integrated within S-400) and also can be used to control Shorter range systems like S-350/Pantsir/Tor and has 2 way link with other types of command posts used on the battalion regiment level of other systems (ground forces for Tor/Buk and air forces). That's the real power of the S-400 ... it can either take control of smaller units of shorter range systems (for example a 3 vehicle group of Pantsir to defens itself) or share data with a battalion set of Tor (Command post + 6 vehicles) to coordinate the targets they will engage: for example the Tor battalion command will get Data from S-400 about cruise missiles and fighters, the S-400 will select the cruise missiles for the Tor systems, the command post of the Tor battalion will cross that data with the radars of the Tor and the tors will only engage those missiles, leaving the S-400 free to engage the fighters while it's engage channels are not saturated by the missiles. that way every system can focus on one type of targets and ignore the rest while also making sure they don't double tap.
It won't be alone, it works in layers with other medium, short and ponit defense systems and early warning radars like nebo that using low frequency can extend the effective horizon.

One battalion has 8 launchers for a total of 32 missiles. Usually one battery will have 8 battalions for a total of 72 launchers and thus 384 missiles.
@@abymathew295 Army uses flying radars, ex AWACS, so it could see down from above. To put a powerful system on a military cargo aircraft, it must be light enough, i.e. as modern as possible. The radar irradiates the target from top to bottom (far beyond the horizon) and only large mountains can hide the target. Further, the information is combined into a network. NATO has a lot of AWACS, but Russia has big problems with this, for obvious reasons.

There are quite a few inaccuracies on the description and capabilities of some of the components like the Big Bird/Tombstone. The Big Bird is totally different from the Tombstone, in fact, the Tombstone is not even associated with the S-400 system but with the older S-300. Overall, good job though. One battalion has 8 launchers for a total of 32 missiles. Usually one battery will have 8 battalions for a total of 72 launchers and thus 384 missiles.

They could mount the mast Radar on top of a hill or an elevated position to get better detection range.
Yes they could but low flying objects are a difficult to target and track because of Terrain obstruction.

@@abymathew295 Army uses flying radars, ex AWACS, so it could see down from above. To put a powerful system on a military cargo aircraft, it must be light enough, i.e. as modern as possible. The radar irradiates the target from top to bottom (far beyond the horizon) and only large mountains can hide the target. Further, the information is combined into a network. NATO has a lot of AWACS, but Russia has big problems with this, for obvious reasons.

There are quite a few inaccuracies on the description and capabilities of some of the components like the Big Bird/Tombstone. The Big Bird is totally different from the Tombstone, in fact, the Tombstone is not even associated with the S-400 system but with the older S-300. Overall, good job though. These systems employment vary depending on battlefield scenarios and military objectives
You're wrong. The S-300 did not have such a thing. The all-altitude detector appeared on the S-400.
