Having lived in Shanghai, I can honestly say that the metro system there is among the best in the world. The whole city is basically like something out of a sci-fi film: a mix of old and new.
@@samsungdelila5960 I live in Shanghai idiot, used to live in Japan. Japan is generations more futuristic and developed than China. Most of china is 3rd world and the people live in shit conditions. Shanghai is alright, but it's not grandiose. Shenzhen is newer, but still doesn't account for how most Chinese people live.
After I watched this video, i also watched the NYC subway. Comparing the 2, I can clearly appreciate the modernization and cleanliness of metro in Shanghai
1 of my countrymen was trying to convince us to be more grateful after showing us a photo of NYC Subway's W4 station & claiming he'd heard no one complain about it
that's because they don't have crazy and homeless people in the stations like we have hear in new york city I fear for my safety when going to work in the mornings
It's not just that it's only over 100 years old but also the state of New York and the federal government likes to torment NYC over funding for the NYC subway system. Because New York City is viewed as the "is the decadent hellhole" by vast sectors of MURCA! it is an easy target for politicians so thus politicians from other states and regions in Congress like to "bash NYC over the head" for their constituents back home so New York City has to fight tooth and nail for funding just for the trains and signals and tracks and SECURITY as the NYC subway is a criminality hot spot. The result is that the physical parts of the NYC subway like the stations are given no thought even as people purposely destroy and abuse the stations of the NYC subway............ and that's why the subway stations look like shit. The San Francisco Bay Area BART and the Washington DC Metro systems are both over 50 years old but the stations look surprisingly nice even though they suffer from the same homeless and destructive behavior by the public *but because both systems are "more modern" from the aspect of "architecture" both BART and the DC Metro look more "pleasantly aesthetic" than the "beaten down" NYC subway system.......*
You see, even though the pandemic in China has been firmly under control, people still wearing masks in public places. 👏👏👏👏 Also, look at the cleanliness of the metro and the orderly of the passengers. Very Impressive. in the last 20 years, Shanghai metro has grown on average by 40km... and they do not plane to slow down. Ultra clean, 100% safe (0 aggression, robbery), very cheap, lot of metro one after each other, what could we ask more? Ha yes, only one down point, to transfer from one line to another line the walking distance is often a bit too long comparing to some other metro system.

Some people think that any country that is not an elected leader is oppressive. But they can accept the difference between chopsticks and knife and fork.
not that much of an issue imo. It is simply doing work efficiently while travelling. since your chances of getting pickpocketed are near those of getting hit by lightning in most chinese metros, people generally find it better to concentrate on their work, or chatting with their friends, or whatever said person does.
Just visited the youtube video on the five worst subway stations in the NYC. ua-cam.com/video/hHp_qSZmvoI/v-deo.html This metro station in Shanghai looks more like a modern futuristic airport probably better, cleaner and more beautiful than many airports in the US and Europe.

@@joshtep6784 I'm no fan of the US, and I wouldn't deny that some ethnic minorities there suffer serious descrimination. But that is NOT an actual genocide. There are programmes (albeit perhaps inadecuate) to promote and develop those communities and America elected a non-white president. meanwhile China imprisons, tortures, sterilises, silences and even kills Uighurs and Tibetans simply for their ethnicity.
