Ok so the S54 have a total of 4 exhaust/Oxygen sensors
Bank 1 / sensor 1 and sensor 2 you can just use a 22 mm
And then the 2 sensors on bank2 I need special O2 tool ?
This is the proceedment for the m3 e46 USA version... When I saw my car and then your video I thought what car I have bought ?? XD
EU version has diferent monitoring lambda sensors location because the CATs location is different. They are under the car at the middle...

Mines throwing up code for sensor 2 bank 2, I thought this was after cat, in middle of car, further back?
That sensor is post catalyst on the header that collects from cylinders 4, 5, and 6. It will be on the header itself after the catalyst near the collector flange where the exhaust meet the headers.

Does changing the o2 sensors speed up the cat ready monitor?

How come one of your O2 sensor were bigger than others?
Hey man I’m working on a 2004 m3 now trying to change out the o2s and both the pre 1 and post 1 are plugged in different locations. Is the pic you shown the correct location to plug back in? If so that means the person who did this job before plugged everything in the wrong location plus put the wrong sensors in the wrong bungs? This has the factory headers so the pic you had looks different then the headers but I know but look at the pre and post car in this car. Bank one is the front three cyl header and bank 2 is last three towards the fire wall correct?
Mine is the same as you btw. Does not align with his diagram. Were you able to find out if yours was ok? I just replaced mine one by one and matched up the part numbers.

Yes it improved my MPG significantly. I went from 12 to 16 (heavy foot).
