With the right buffs this kit could be great honestly, imo reefslider start up or the explosion needs a buff, and sprinklers need better paint by being anywhere but on the floor
In terms of the blaster class, this is easily the best but also the hardest blaster to use. I can see why they gave it a horrible kit, because the main weapon is exceptionally well. Even despite the kit, it's still functional.
In a couple of seasons, they'll give it a mid kit at worst, and it'll be meta at some point. I just know it.
This is the same dev team that gave ballpoint inkjet and fizzy bomb, not to mention the shooters with burst + tristrike/crab, they just don't know what they're doing

As someone who never really used Blasters, not even in Splatoon 1, I can't use S-Blast to save my life. Everyone I see use it are either like me and getting overwhelmed or they're sniping everybody and jumpscaring people with the jump mode's hitbox.

I said this elsewhere, but the S-Blaster is pretty much the Ballpoint of blasters. Two different firing modes, very good attributes that make it a very good main weapon. If it had a real kit, it would be a top tier weapon easily.

No wonder i love it, my favourites are all midrange like Stamper/Squiffer or alternating like Ballpoint/S-Blast.
...Or they also use comeback, I think I might just have a comeback addiction. Perhaps both.

Um actually brellas big counters like machine and stamper and ultra stamp has been nerfed and its more manageable to deal with them

This weapon lives and dies by whether or not the long range jump gets patched out
Sblast may be the only blaster I own in the entire game also why would you use the range blaster or the Luna blaster over this.
Range blaster has aoe at max range, Luna generally has better movement, but yeah you're still mostly right.

I've barely ever played a Blaster in my life, but for some reason the moment I picked S-Blast up I've been doing great with it. Maybe it's because I'm very familiar with the tech since it's the same as Roller but idk, I just love this weapon

Jumping to void/water next to you when you are in a fight you are gonna lose is actually a tactic with some benefit. The opponent will laugh at you and be at least slightly distracted for a second. You can gain more value for your team than by just getting splatted by the enemy, but only do it if you would have been splatted slower than jumping out the map so you aren't wasting time instead
Quick respawn doesnt kick in and you cant read the map though
Anyone else who's trying sblast from squiffer instead of range having trouble doing the short range jump shot? I know chara said he has trouble fighting the urge to press jump and shoot at the same time which makes it a coin flip because of range habits but squif habits apparently just make you play better range blaster mode only

Why did they do this to my main; range blaster. :( I feel like it’s completely outclassed now lol.
I’ve realised because there is basically no jump RNG you dont have to waste gear on intensify action
Likely nerfs, slower long ranged shot, more ink hungry, and removed jump tech
Theory: Nintendo intentionally gave it the worst kit and are self aware of that because they want to see how powerful the main weapon is BEFORE they accidentally put a potentially game-breaking kit onto the market forever

I'd like to mention: While I'm not entirely certain as I haven't gotten a good angle to look at it yet, I'm pretty sure from what I can tell that inside the gun barrel is a camera shutter thing that opens up when you jump and closes slightly when grounded. If this is true that's some insane attention to detail.

Just applied all general and transferrable skills with Splatoon to the new weapon. A top player picking up a new weapon will do way better with it than you would (unless you're also a top player, IDK), just cause their fundamentals are better.

Even as someone who doesn't use blasters much I love this weapon! It is actually really fun to play around with. It was a little difficult to get used to, but Im gonna continue to practice with it cus it is just so much fun!

Until now, I've never properly used a blaster before except for when I spent a while w/ the torpedo Kensa rapid in Splat 2 (that thing was amazing lol)
Bro s blast is truly a joy to use. I played a lot of the regular blaster in splatoon 2 and had a lot of fun with it, but when splatoon 3 came out i fell of blaster only playing a little bit of rapid. Once i got back into it with s blast it felt so good I had forgotten how fun it was.
also i hope that nintendo doesn't try to fix the jump accuracy with the long ranged mode, like just let the weapon be good

S-Blast is the last line of defense for Blasters
Because compared to normal blaster, it has the same ink efficiency, however because of jump tech, you don’t need intensify action up to have accurate long range shots, so running ink saver main is more possible since it isn’t as gear dependent with IAU

I'm feeling extra depressed today so I wasn't gonna hop on Splatoon to test out the new weapons, but the excitement from you in this video has hyped me up!
What do you think about blaster shots having the full blast radius and damage on collision with the ground rather than doing just 25?
And by that, I mean doing the full splash damage amount, not the full damage amount on directs
It's long range is precision but they with the jump trick IT HAS NO PRECISION DEBUFFS. Nevermind waiting for a better kit this *IS* the one blaster to rule them all.
So if Inkjet is becoming popular, and S-Blast is this great, and Light Tetras might grow in more popularity (with hopes of Enperries in the future), if Brellas get their bugs sorted we might get S2's Golden Era RPS on top of current meta?

i’ve found K e weapon what can counter s blast, and that is the heavy deco as it has more range, and if they get close you can pop kraken to kill em, i’ve never TOUCHED heavy until that kit was released
Well, gotta be that guy, but decent chance the jump shot is unintentional, and will be patched. Feels like the kind of thing dev oversight would miss. Hope it isn't touched, though.
pain brush has whitening frames
One buff they could add to reef slider is allow it to destroy bombs in its rush path and its explosion radius. Splashdown could do that, so there’s one thing that makes slider a downgrade. I still think slider is better overall than Splashdown, just not against bombs.

The jumping long range tech was messing the heck up due to me playing dynamo all of splatoon 2 and part of splatoon 3, and abusing that jumping horizon flick
I really hope the perfect rng jump shots is a bug because this is kinda just the best blaster in the game. One shot, perfect rng, close range and long range mode, slightly better ink efficiency, far less gear reliant, the only slightly meaningful downside compared to any other blaster is small blast radius on long range. Which doesn’t matter as much with perfect rng in long range. Also I guess fire rate, which doesn’t matter as much because the only blasters that fire faster can’t one shot. Basically the only reason I can see people picking another blaster is because of the kit or because the range blaster looks so much cooler.
Wait a minute, if this thing can do the jumping horizontal thing, does it make the S-Blast 92 the Blaster version of the Roller class, but it’s vertical is on the ground and it’s horizontal is in the air?
I find it kinda funny how you and everyone were sure S-Blast was dead due to its kit, and yet here you guys are having fun with it and not calling it garbage. Yes, the kit is still poor, but the fact that the weapon is good despite the terrible kit is VERY interesting.
It depresses me to say, but this thing is definitely getting nerfed into the ground one of these days ;-; I could feel it while playing and absolutely popping off with it. Not because it’s broken, but because Nintendo just won’t let it be good

Sblast seems to be for high skill players like comp players.
Average person is not going to have the same experience.
In fact the luna neo blaster is better for less skilled players
Sblasts close range mode is far to sliw to engage with people.
It players more like squiffer that trades charge for endlag

S-blast would've been a great weapon if it didn't have reefslider. It's still broken in the hands of a good blaster player like ProChara.
Running a full gear of main+subs being Intensify gives you perfect jump accuracy with the short ranged mode roo

God its got range blaster distance, an alt fire to cover close range with max shot splash, and it still oneshots. I can’t wait to never use another weapon (although that kit is godawful the main weapon is still so damn cool)
