I'd never heard of Terri Hoffman. One of those unexplained disappearance lists mentioned Terri Hoffman and I wanted to know more. Thanks, you really told it brilliantly. I'm now binge listening. 👍
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Terri was pretty nasty huh? I also came across the story the same way funnily enough. I was going to make an episode just on the disappearance and it ended up going way down this rabbit hole!
Dark Histories I paused the video to call my friend and tell her to watch. I was stunned Terri talked someone into believing they were in a relationship with an invisible CIA agent! Who does that...well Terri Hoffman I guess. Keep up the good work👏
The fact that all of this nonsense took place in and around my hometown of Dallas, Texas, USA and around my college (North Texas) made me sigh audibly. This is about as crazy as Scientology, and that’s pretty damn crazy. Sigh again. 😂
danzig mcnaniel - Haha! Yeah, I’m pretty much a walking, talking stereotype visually speaking, right? Big blonde hair? Check. Blue eyes? Check. Sass aplenty? Check. Proficient with firearms (not readily apparent in the avatar, but still)? Check. 😂 I can assure you, however, that I’m twice-degreed, I don’t speak in a thick twang (just the slightest trace of an accent), and I’m neither shrill nor xenophobic. (Some of the Texas stereotypes rankle me a bit. Haha!)
danzig mcnaniel - I’ve been out of Texas for too long, my good man. Been living in Michigan of all places for the last 15. Although I insist that soda will NEVER be “pop”. “Pop” is a sound. Soda/Coke is a carbonated beverage. I will say that my husband and children report that when I get animated, angry, excited.... the southern accent comes back. “Like a Texas version of Ricky Ricardo”, my husband says, if you’re not too young to get that reference. (The Texas accent has also come back full force the few times I’ve been stopped by the police up here. Yankee men love a southern accent like the cat loves the cream jar, and you bet I unleash that particular kracken when it suits me. 😂)
Am I the only one who thinks Texas-based cult leader Terri Hoffman bears a striking resemblance to late Kansas City-born psychic Sylvia Browne? Remember her? Despite wildly off-the-mark predictions that never came to pass, Browne became famous as a regular guest on Baltimore-born talk show host Montel Williams' show. Wiki says: Sylvia Celeste Browne (née Shoemaker; b. October 19, 1936 in Kansas City, MO d. November 20, 2013 in San Jose, CA) Montel Brian Anthony Williams (born July 3, 1956 in Baltimore, MD). Spouse(s) Rochele See (1982-89) Grace Morley (1992-2000) Tara Fowler (2007-present)

Watching the old unsolved mysteries episode about her, I wondered what possessed this weirdo to do the things she did.

J McIntosh your avatar wonderfully screams Texas

J McIntosh god loves a bouffant. And I’m (only slightly) disappointed you don’t speak with a heavy regional accent...

Haha a Texan just realizing they live in the ground zero of fundamentalist Christianity.
