The rough cuts are probably my favourite because they capture my personal love of cycling for me in a big way- cruising through streets and being able to see the city from the centre of the road. In Scotland there's no real way to do this as cities have such tight streets, but you're never far from nature where you can do this. These videos let me see what that's like in the urban and I really love that
Yeah! I used to messenger in SF in mid to late 90's. Looks sunny and warm. Not so warm haha so great for cycling. Well props to this guy because he can ride a fixed gear like a champ. Really. I ride fixed now but back then rode a road bike because I was there to make money... Knew some messengers riding fixed w/o brakes and good enough for downtown and soma but not so much for long board. Anyway more props for riding down Lombard Street brakeless haha. Gotta give the people what they want. Seriously though... I ride fixed and this guy rolls without having to tell everyone about it. Serious rider...
Terry...This is great footage. It's great to see some track bike action on steep climbs! I'm out here by Denver; nothing better than doing serious climbs on the track bike! It's all roadies out here, professionals come here to train. I went to the local shop to have wheels built cuz I am not able to do so, and I got mad comments like: "oh is that supposed to be a track bike?", "Do you ride on a velodrome or something?? Then why do you have it?" I'm like: "One, cuz it gets me around. Two, because it's an experience like no other. Three, because I grew up in Chicago and was a messenger and it kept me going all year/all weather with maintenance I could manage on my own...Then moved out here and fell even more in love with this type of riding." When you were in SF, were you also riding track bikes? PLEASE DROP SOME MORE FOOTAGE LIKE THIS that can hopefully bring awareness to folks that track bikes aren't just for the velo. or urban riding...We gets down EVERYWHERE! There's almost ZERO community around here...and really only the local mechanics understand and appreciate the happiness building up a simple bike with nice components can bring one...without the 'Fixie/Urban S.S. Flash'. Be easy.
It’s cool to watch a video that you posted a year ago and watching this one posted 4 years ago and you can see a big difference. There’s more electric bikes and more people riding now in frisco haha. Hopefully people in Cali over here start riding bikes due to the rise of gasoline.
youtube is absurd place if you really think it, nearlly two thousand people watch man ride a bike in city with nothing but the wind noise.... and no not a critique, more like friday musings
ok just got hit by a car because i couldn't skid going down this small hill to slow down. what ratio is he running here to pull off those gnarly skids? it must help to also have straps id imagine. i should probably get some of those.
If you can’t skid, skip or use back pressure to slow down get a brake. Not sure what Type of gear ratio Jake is riding here but I like to ride 45x17 here in San Diego. Jake seems like a total shredder though so I would assume he is running larger than that.
Note the heavy duty U lock in his back left pocket. That’s because the street guys in San Francisco will cut your lightweight lock and steal your bike.
I'd be so pissed to live on Lombard street with the serpentines and traffic jesus christ. those houses are mad expensive too. for what? to be stuck 30 mins waiting to get to your garage lmao
Wind is always the best soundtrack, ++more roughs cuts

Happy to get you stoked on riding
this city just keeps unfolding and showing more with every crest and hill. I love the way this is shot so much.
Such a mesmerizing rider to watch. And I think I heard only one slight car honk through the whole 16 minutes. Amazing... SF seems so dreamy.
Kelsey Leigh how does he weave around cars beautifully and I love to learn how to ride like a bike messanger
By riding everyday and having the guts to take the risks. Simple in theory, not so much in practice.
10:16 Props for being able to ride the insane grades in SF on a fixie!
I love watching these videos it gets me pumped up everytime before going on my bike ride
RIP tires! This fellow must go through a pair every 3 rides! Incredible…
Always come back to this video, gets me really motivated to ride. Love Jakes riding style and bike set up.
Estupendo video! excelentes imágenes de la bella ciudad de San Francisco.
Really satisfying. Loved the music on the instagram video. The view is amazing. Nice ride with the camera!
Awesome video. That run down Columbus ave to Montgomery 😬 thats such a fly zone
hes got some stamina
So dope... had the privilege riding with Jake back to city after the Lemond ride!

That poor rear tire got a healthy workout. You must burn through a lot of rubber in SF. Enjoyed this one👌🏻
I could watch this all day man
I love these! Keep making them bud, cheers!
Definitely love your work Terry... Hope to see you on The Chippa Route... Keep up the awesome work...
just amazin' as always, thx
Definitely more rough cuts!
people seem to like em. More on the way.
code3in619 please make one for me

My route from the inner sunset to market has such nice shots. I’m sure we’ll get a hotline in soon enough Terry 🤙
the trees under the Transamerica bldg are one of the best pockets in the city
I reaally want to know, how you get such amazing shots, is really awesome is a clean shot. Cheers from Colombia
Sabia que era Sf. Esa ciudad parece un videojuego.
que relación es la que usa Jake aqui?
Wow, these videos are great. more rough cuts please.
Inspiração !!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🚲
Omg, that skid down Lombard St. Insane
That was a funny one to film. Anyone who’s Ben there knows how impossible it is to actually ride fast down it.
Those are some dank skids
Thanks for not putting shitty EDM over the video :D
You're forever welcome for this.
or shitty modern rap/hiphop/xanax music/codeine music.
Awesome!!! How do you stop like that with using any brakes?
Which relation is? 48-17?
Love your vid's man. That's a solid sub.
Olhando essa avenida lembrei do jogo Road Rash PSX 3do
You guys make that look easy 👍🚴🏽♀️

Reminds me of GTA san Andreas lol. This is sick!
Crazy man!
about how fast are y'all going?
omg i used to live on the first street Lakeview Ave
This is brazy!
Is it really early in the morning or does SF always look this serene? Complete opposite of riding in London
What city was this. Great video just no location where this one was filmed always nice to know where u record from
San Francisco
Your videos are like "ASMR" to me hehe
Are filled with beauty, life and some death cheating hehe
I bet he goes through tires pretty quickly.
how was this filmed?
On a bike following behind.
Wind trap mixtape 2017 was lit
How do you film it?
I follow behind on a bicycle.
Terry Barentsen how did you make such stabilized video? It's just a camera or may be you use a sort of gimbal?
Calf + knee workout !
game title pls?
youtube is absurd place if you really think it, nearlly two thousand people watch man ride a bike in city with nothing but the wind noise.... and no not a critique, more like friday musings
I feel that
Tem um cara de bike atrás dele gravando?
Is that a biker behind you filming you or a drone. If it a drone someone using it to film you
What's the city, San Francisco ?
Si
ok just got hit by a car because i couldn't skid going down this small hill to slow down. what ratio is he running here to pull off those gnarly skids? it must help to also have straps id imagine. i should probably get some of those.
heal up!

Muito bom
every single time you switch the gear i lose my shit coz i think his chain has snapped..)
Haha true
How was this filmed? Was it with a drone? Great video also great city!
Also I hope you strava that ride..
Drone boys
Scarier than a roller coaster
Wowowo
Hey Terry, need more bike checks!
Note the heavy duty U lock in his back left pocket. That’s because the street guys in San Francisco will cut your lightweight lock and steal your bike.
what city?
San Francisco, CA.
Is there another cyclist behind you or is it a drone?
Drone carrying a red epic
Does his rear tyre have any tread left, lol? Why not just get a rear brake? If you're gonna burn through rubber, may as well be a pad ...
3:16 Mighty Car Mods
Man this guy must go through a lot of tires.
its like roadrash but without the bikes and all the racing
Ohuenno!
I'd be so pissed to live on Lombard street with the serpentines and traffic jesus christ. those houses are mad expensive too. for what? to be stuck 30 mins waiting to get to your garage lmao
" Thats boys good "
That would be great to have the MPH counter somewhere on the video
More impressed with the guy behind you.
Audio through 🇨🇳 town is extra atmos.
The beautiful boy
He passed my old street
Green St. North Beach 😎
The poor guy gets it at the uphill parts of the city... A flat terrain is much better for the fixed gear bikes.
invisible man
GTA 6
Fuck, SF is the prettiest
It is
Is anyone watching this that rides in orange county
Change your rims Jake! Those are going to bend pretty easily!
Reckless riding is just plain stupid
